  • Do you pronounce the first R in February? What sound does the U make in July? How do you pronounce Wednesday? You know the English names for the days of the week and the months of the year. But are you pronouncing them correctly?
    Watch this video to learn the correct pronunciations and practice saying them with me!
    The exact pronunciation will vary slightly depending on your accent, but the pronunciations that I give you will be understood in all English speaking countries.

    I found this helpful for me a lot. I've seen some your videos on Facebook, and they were really amazing and informative. Could I ask you a questions, teacher Mike ?
    My question: In case, I would like to ask someone such as : teachers, elderly people and so on for information, Could I add " Mr,Miss,Mrs,Ms" before their names ? And Could I use this way to you ? Like Mr.Mike ?

    • @TeacherMikeEnglish
      @TeacherMikeEnglish  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on the culture and on the person you are speaking to. If you don't know how to address someone, it's best to ask. You could ask "May I call you ____?" Or "How would you like me to address you?"

    Long time ago, when I studied English at school, We said ...diiiiiiiii instead of ...day. What variant is more correct to pronounce? MonDiiiiii or MonDAY?

    • @TeacherMikeEnglish
      @TeacherMikeEnglish  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I don't think there are any native speakers who pronounce it that way, but I could be wrong.

  • @markrae1317
    @markrae1317 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    As with all of these pronunciation "guides", this is just how the presenter pronounces things and should not be taken as definitive or authoritative in any way. In the UK, the second day of the week is pronounced CHOOSE-day, and it is more common to pronounce the third day of the week as WED-uns-day. The second month of the year is pronounced FEB-roo-urree.

    • @TeacherMikeEnglish
      @TeacherMikeEnglish  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That may be true, but I am giving you most common pronunciations that you will find in dictionaries or taught in the majority of schools/books.
