I suffered a massive sch bleed at 6 weeks. I passed many massive clots and was told I had a miscarriage. I bled for about a month thereafter. At a routine check up it was discovered I have not miscarriage after all. I'm 32 weeks pregnant now.

My wife experienced bleeding last weekend we were terrified. We went to emerge expecting the worst however the babys heartbear was strong and the dr said that its a normal healthy pregnancy. A wave of relief filled our heart. Were at 9 weeks now 🤞
I’m 10weeks I had a gush of pink discharge after my husband and I had sex. Shortly after about 30mins or so, it was bright red fresh blood. (today is 1/31/2023) we went to the Er immediately this past Sunday and they did an Ultrasound scan and explain to us I had a SCH.. they explained everything to us. My vitals were good, the baby heart rate was great and during the ultrasound I saw the baby moving around 🥰 But I was still very scared being that this is our first child together and we were trying to conceive for 3 months prior to becoming pregnant. Since Sunday the ER visit, I’ve have a dark brown discharge that is slowly subsiding associated with occasional mild cramps(which could also be growing pains). We have an appointment this Thursday with our OB to make sure everything is still progressing properly. I am soo glad I ran into you Dr. Perez! I’m in my first pregnancy and because of my age group, i am feeling like i’ve been in purgatory since my i’ve first started bleeding. I was told in my first ultrasound that i was 5 weeks, when the following week I started to bleed brown then all of a sudden i had a day that was heavier and i was on day 7 or bleeding. As you can imagine i freaked out and went to the ER , and they said that I was actually showing 5 weeks. I was told at the ER that if the previous ultrasound was correct, then it may show signs that the baby is not growing and it may not be a viable pregnancy. My heart broke into a million pieces. They sent me to outpatient to a local OBGYN and they began testing for the hormone levels to see if that statement was true. Yesterday, I received the good news that the baby is growing! I’m inly sharing this information here in case any other mother to be ever runs into these situations at the emergency room! Make sure you get second opinions and stay as positive as you can be! This actually happened to me and I was told I wasn’t pregnant and later found out I was pregnant at 11 weeks via vaginal ultrasound. I didn’t get a positive home pregnancy test until my 12th weeks. I had a boy.

The sch has unfortunately got bigger than 2 days prior, but the baby looked good and it’s heartbeat was normal. I’m praying for a happy outcome!
Sending strength to women and couples going through this. In my case I numbed my emotions and couldn´t fully connect with or enjoy the pregnancy in first -second trimestre. I just willed everything to get better. This was my first pregnancy at 37/38 years old. We planned and prepared for pregnancy and to our relief, it happened within 2 months. I had implementation bleeding which was quite heavy, I actually assumed it was a slightly early period. Later at 7 weeks pregnant after a sudden small bleed, a SCH was diagnosed. It lasted 4 months. And included about 4 trips to the ER. Sometimes heavy bleeds (gushing tap) and clots (larger than the size of a fried egg) would happen out of nowhere. It was traumatic. Each time I had no cramps and the heartbeat was fine and cervix tightly closed. For months I rested as often as possible and moved incredibly gently, slowly and carefully. The third trimestre was better, it had completely gone away. I could go for gentle hikes again, swim a little, and felt more at ease to become emotionally connected and more hopeful about my growing baby. I went on to have a healthy baby by elective CS at 39 weeks. The truth is so many families have traumatic fertility journeys, pregnancies, and or births. Just take it day by day. I´m just about ready now to try for my second one and hope whatever the journey, the outcome will be a healthy baby, and if not learn to accept that too. So much more research and study is needed in the area of pregnancy and more education and support should be provided. We have a long way to go. It´s great that more videos are being put up about this. In 2019 when I had mine, I feel like there was much less info available about SCH online and on youtube. Kudos also to all those who share as I think that´s what helped me not feel so alone when I went through mine. It also helps to know someone went through the same or a severe situation and things got better. It´s temporary, things will get better.
Thank you for sharing. I started bleeding from week 7 till now week 15, still small bleeding every day. Sometimes heavy bleeding out of no where. I have a girl aged 3 almost, now I am carrying a boy, I hope everything turns out to be fine. Keep praying every day
I’m so glad that there is more information out there about this. I had them in 3 of my last 4 pregnancies found on ultrasound. I actually never bled and was made to feel like I was almost certainly going to miscarry all three times. I had all three kids between 39 and 40 weeks totally healthy and kind of feel like I was made to feel fearful unnecessarily. Mine completely reabsorbed by 20 weeks. These were all in the last 8 years but I feel like public information about SCH has come really far. It’s encouraging and I really appreciate this content.
I’m 39 with 4 children and had no idea that you could bleed without it meaning a miscarriage until this happened to me a few days ago and I learned in a birth group about sch. I hope my story in that group will reassure anyone who it happens too as you have me
@@catherinenakibombo7322 yes they either bleed out or reabsorb without any medication. There is currently no approved medication proven to help with SCH. All four of mine reabsorbed over time (2-11 weeks).
From my personal experience, I would recommend anyone with hematoma to rest/ take it easy. I had a hematoma, doctor told me there's nothing I can do about it, and definitely no need for bed rest. Unfortunately, at 18 weeks we lost the pregnancy. Now I am pregnant again, I had hematoma again, we decided- this time - no risks! I went on bed rest at 14 weeks and thank God, at 20 weeks it totally desolved.
This video just gave me so much closure I lost my son a year ago to this I was 20w pregnant and had a stillbirth. I miss him so much and nobody explained it this thoroughly.

I’m 11 weeks today and I went to the ER last night for a HUGE gush of blood. I thought for sure I was miscarrying. I had no cramps though which gave me a shred of faith. I went back for an ultrasound and they saw a healthy baby measuring a day ahead with a heartbeat of 170. They saw a “sack” of blood and the doctor explained that everything looked great, just had a hematoma.
Exactly same experience! I’m still 7 weeks and went to ER. After scan they say baby is fine however I’m on bedrest until I stop getting discharges. I bled a lot and as soon as those hematomas came out bleeding stopped.
This happened to me yesterday during work. I am 11w3d. I felt a gush of blood while walking. I started to bleed heavily but had no cramps. I fortunately work at a hospital and a coworker wheeled me down to the ED immediately. They found a subchorionic hematoma located on the left side of my uterus which is on the opposite side of the baby. Baby’s heart was fluttering with a normal heart rate. It was the most terrifying thing I have ever experience. Thank you for this video, it makes me feel so much better.

I lost my child this year due to sch. I bled more than i ever have in my life. I bled a cup full. Filled with nothing but a clot and blood. Im 5 weeks 3 days pregnant now and freaking.i was diagnosed with sch when I clotted the other day when my hcg was at 9,000. Went back today with severe cramps and bleeding (no clotting.) And my hcg was 24,894.. with a sonogram of my baby and the babies heart... i dont understand whats going on since im still obviously progessing to make me bleed so much but i hope and pray my baby makes it 😔 i get so panicked when i see blood it intsantly puts me in a panic attack.. fingers crossed it doesnt happen again!
My wife and I are going through this currently. She had bleeding at about 13 weeks with back pain and cramps. She also passed a blood clot. We thought she was having a miscarriage, which was an incredibly scary and emotional experience. Thankfully it was diagnosed as a mild subchorionic hemorrhage, so it will hopefully heal and have no impact on the baby. She's continuing to have bleeding about 5 days later so it's still pretty scary right now.
Same situation as of the moment. Im at 6 weeks and im in my 8th day bleeding and diagnosed with subchorionic hematoma. But I know, me and my baby are strong. We can get pass this.

Thank you for sharing I also have a sch at 5w 5d with twins on thanksgiving I was passing big clots I thought I was having a miscarriage and I did have contractions I went to the er. They told me because it’s so early it’s hard to tell but baby A is good with a heartbeat baby b didn’t have a heartbeat but they said it’s early to see a heartbeat I have a follow up in 2 days praying both babies are okay and growing. I’m a surrogate so I had 2 embryo transferred earlier this month. Praying for the parents and the twins🙏
Update I just had my follow up ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days today and unfortunately I miscarried the twins. Praying for all who are going through this.
I'm at weeks 12 pregnant now experiencing bleeding now it started with light bleeding then followed with camping and heavy bleeding I terrified called the midwife came and checked and assured me that the baby is still there safe. It's quite terrifying experience. I'm relax after watching your video thanks🙏

I was diagnosed with a SCH yesterday. My ultrasound was at 7w1d, I’m 8w tomorrow. This video helped me feel a lot better. I don’t experience any bleeding or spotting. Hoping all goes well

I started spotting at 6 wks and knew I was miscarrying but I went to ER and did u/s it showed a viable pregnancy fhr 134. The spotting stopped after 3 days but returned daily and throughout since. Had another U/s 2 wks later and viable pregnancy still. I am praying every day. This is so scary cause I have minimal symptoms only fatigue and sob. This gave me some hope.
This is exactly how my first trimester experience was. Had heavy bleeding on 3 occasions, a couple weeks apart. Same gush of blood and continued bleeding for about 2-3 hours. My doctor didn’t explain things well at all and they documented it as a threatened miscarriage. Baby was fine on the ultrasound though. It was only through my own research that I was able to better understand what I was experiencing. My doctor also had me take crinone gel as treatment which was quite expensive and as I’ve learned, likely unnecessary and ineffective (also quite messy). Thankfully, by the 2nd trimester, no more bleeding episodes and I’m now at 30 weeks with a healthy baby bouncing around inside 😊.
I’ve never gone to a male gynecologist; frankly just the thought is repulsive. You are the kind of gyno I’ve always had. A welcoming demeanor and of course you “get it”. Your frightening experience definitely makes you even more aware and able to relate. Ty to all of the amazing women doctors out there.
One year ago today I was 7w4d and had been bleeding for about 2 weeks. Finally had my ultrasound and went in sobbing because I just assumed I had lost the baby, but instead was diagnosed with an SCH and got to hear my sweet babes heartbeat of 136bpm. My doctor scheduled another ultrasound to check it a week later, where we found out that baby unfortunately no longer had a heartbeat. I've continuously blamed myself for the loss (even though I know I couldn't have prevented the SCH), but since that diagnosis last year, this is the most I've heard/learned about SCH. Currently 23 weeks and so far no complications/no SCH so just praying for the best for the next 17 weeks.
Same with me I had a SCH my last pregnancy I had bleeding from 8 weeks till I lost my little boy at 14 weeks. I’m now pregnant with our little rainbow baby and am almost 11 weeks no signs of a SCH thus far and this gave me some more hope!

Thank you, Dr. for sharing such an important chapter of your pregnancy. It gives all the new mom's to be a piece of mind that we may not be able to find anywhere else since it's so early in our pregnancy. In my case I have noticed bleeding when I wipe too hard, when I feel constipated and have to push a bit harder, or when I have pressed my belly against something and have caused me pain. Now I know a bit more what to do and what to keep an eye for. But still I'm around 6 to 8 weeks pregnant at the moment. Hopefully it will keep growing 🙏

I had bleeding at 5 weeks…. It was pretty light for an entire week! At my 8 week ultrasound I was told I had a sch and that’s what must’ve caused the bleeding prior! It’s small, so hopefully it heals with no issues 🙏🏽
This brought a bit of peace of mind! I had an early miscarriage in my first pregnancy. Had my rainbow baby Aug 2021. And just discovered I have SCH at 9wks via ultrasound. The wait and see approach is hard, but it's good to hear SCH alone doesn't mean increased risk of miscarriage.

Thank you so much, I'm on my 15th weeks now but still experiencing some bleeding thought doctors already told me before that bleseding is because of the blood cloth and it will going out or will be absorb by my body.. I'm not worrying much now since bleeding doesn't comes with any other body pain. And after some times it actually stops after taking some rest

This is my first pregnancy through IVF at age 36 and I've had bleeding but mostly huge clots. So scary. It's been within about 4 days and 3 big clots. I found out this morning I have a subchorionic hemmorage and now I have to be on bedrest for a week as I'm only almost 7 weeks. I can't sleep well and I'm so nervous. Doesn't help that I already have a panic disorder but knowing that others have gone through this and been okay does help! Thank you for this video!
@@shawnbrisk4523 yes! I was on bedrest for about a week and it resolved itself and is now gone. I think it depends on the size of them. Mine was fairly large which is why the clots were so big. I've heard that most of the time, it resolves on its own.
I had ivf as well and currently 13 weeks. I have a large hematoma. I’ve had 3 big scares with cramping so I was put on bed rest for about 6 weeks. I have an appointment tomorrow to see how it’s healing. I have to wear a pad 24-7. Bleeding isn’t bad but hasn’t stopped. I can’t do much or I start cramping and bleeding more. If your partner is going through this be patient and loving. This isn’t easy at all especially if you’re an active person.
I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with my second, I started following you when I was pregnant with my first and interested in your content on the Covid vaccine during pregnancy (received both vaccines in third trimester as a health care worker). With both pregnancies, I had spotting/light bleeding about two times during the first trimester which are very scary. I was never diagnosed with a subchronic hematoma via ultrasound, it seems that either hormonal fluxes or cervical changes led to bleeding in my case (even around the same weeks). Even knowing that bleeding can be normal in the first trimester, your mind always goes to the worst case scenario. Thank you for your content!
I'm so glad you found it helpful! It truly is such a tough thing to counsel about because of course it could be a sign of a miscarriage but it is ALSO totally normal to have some bleeding with healthy pregnancies. The unknown is hte hardest to live with.
Fyi, there are clinics all around that only do ultrasound for a small fee. I have an appt today for mine because I am experiencing moderate bleeding at 8 weeks. Thank you for this information, I'm praying it's all as it should be❤️🙏
I also had a SCH in my first trimester that included bleeding and a trip to the ER then later closer to my due date it was discovered I also had placenta previa and we decided a c-section would be best thankfully it all worked out and my little one is 15 months and perfectly healthy

My Dr always talked about chances of miscarriage diminishing after 8 weeks and the day I turned 9 weeks I felt a gush of warm fluid coming out just like when you're on your period. I hurry to the bathroom bright red blood! No cramps I was convinced I was having a miscarriage. Rushed to the ER they found a mild SCH, heartbeat was strong and baby was moving around. That was a bit reassuring but still scary. Bleeding stopped the night of but came back 2 days later which is now today as we speak. I try to not worry as I can bleed for a while before it can resolve. Praying for a healthy pregnancy nonetheless 🙏

I was told I had sch at 7 weeks. I never bled though. My doctor told me not to worry because as the baby gets bigger, it squishes all the blood out. At my last appointment at 12 weeks, it had completely disappeared.
Same just turned 8 weeks today! Doc told me I had sch told me it was small should go away alone but I might experience bleeding around this time.. told me not to lift anything and to not put any pressure on myself. Havent had any bleeding yet but hopefully by my next visit it is all gone !

I had this when I was 11weeks pregnant I was scared as this was my first pregnancy and with PCOS, I went to the ER and they told me it was SCH never heard about it before but thank God baby boy is 5 weeks old today. Just take it easy don’t run, exercise or lift heavy stuffs and drink lots of water
I've given birth to 4 children... so I'm not new to pregnancy and all it's surprises. But I had my period all last week. Saturday was my last day of period. I often have little headaches on a daily basis, but two days later, Monday, I started having one of the worst headaches and it was very unusual compared to my usual headaches. I ended up crying by the afternoon and my back was aching. My husband has never really had a headache, so he doesn't understand my pain, but even that day he was making phone calls to see what we could do to fix me. Eventually, I went to the restroom and noticed my period was back! I used a "super" tampon, but a couple hours later, I felt that it was already time to change it... which is unusual. When I went to change it, that's when I passed a huge blood clot the size of my finger! The only other time I've lost a blood clot like this was when I had a miscarriage a couple years ago. Mind you, I wasn't trying to get pregnant. I'm 38. My husband is 45. Together, we have 7 children. So....I didn't think it was a miscarriage because I didn't think I was pregnant. I just had my period! Immediately, I went to the store and bought a pregnancy test. I took the test in the store bathroom and it came back positive. I called my doctor, but they can't get me in for over a month. I'm not bleeding anymore after that clot passed 4 days ago, but all day, everyday, I'm still having this terrible headache that's unusual from my "normal" headaches. It's unbearable at times. I don't feel like myself. My mid back is still aching, which it never does until now. I don't want to, but I guess my best next step is to go to the emergency room. I just don't know what's going on.
In my first pregnancy I had a very small bleed/spotting and I ended up going 39 weeks and giving birth to a healthy baby. Now I'm pregnant with my 2nd and had a major bleed this time and so far no miscarriage, even though I'm still early in my first trimester. 🤞

I had a scan and blood test done today, they couldn't see much in the scan said i was too early. So Monday need to do another blood test and there after a scan in 10 days. Hopefully everythings all good by Gods grace 🙏🏽 Update: my second bloodtest showed my hgc levels dropped. 5 days of bleeding has stopped completely. No further follow-up required. I keep telling myself I'm still preg as I swear I can feel a tingle. Who knows I'll do a preg test tom and if it shows preg I am. All my so call hcg levels are back to 0 since Tuesday morning.
I am 8 weeks and 2 days the sch was found at 6 Weeks and 4 days and then the heartbeat was strong I have another ultrasound Monday the 15th and I have had bleeding like I'm on my period one day with clots and then spotting the next and it has happened 3 days now but not in a row . I am experiencing the same Jenifer. I was at the ER last night, they fund a huge hematoma so the de was not really positive. Baby have a heart rate 98 he said it’s ok but not very strong. So now I am in my bed and waiting to see how it will turn out. How are you ? How big is your hematoma ?
I’m 42 and got pregnant through IVF. At 13 weeks, I had a gush of blood which continued for a few hours. I went to the emergency and all I needed was comfort and a solution. Well the doctor that I had said I can just wait it out and see what happen, or have an abortion. This is our first baby. The ultrasound came back that our baby was fine and that the cervix was closed. Why would I opted for an abortion? 9 hours in the emergency room with no solution, I chose to wait it out. I immediately put myself on bed rest, watch TH-cam and find another mother who recommended taking vitamin C. So far the bleeding have stopped. I’m hopeful and wishing everyone good luck!
Very similar story here! I conceived via IUI and had a sch at 6+4. That bleed lasted about 24-36 hours. At about 8 weeks I lost some more but it was brown blood so older. I was told that sch is more likely to happen when a pregnancy is due to IUI or IVF. I am almost 12 weeks and had some really light spotting the last two days. It’s such a scary thing especially after infertility! Praying you’re doing well! ❤
Currently 11 weeks and 3 days and had this happen to me. The er doc was confident that at this time I am not having a miscarriage and it was just a subchorionic hematoma as there was a heart beat and no ultra sound on the weekends but I'll call and inform my ob tomorrow as well. Currently no cramps and the bleeding has stopped trying to stay hopeful that's why I'm here to learn more about this
I just had bleeding with clot and i am 6 weeks 2 days. My appointment is today at 1:30 pm hoping its not a miscarriage. I am so upset please god bless me and save my baby. 🙏
I had two subchorionic hemorrhages about a week apart and about two weeks after the second one I miscarried my twins I was 12 weeks into the pregnancy. It's been almost a month and I miss them. We had to bury them it was so surreal holding their tiny bodies.
Been Scared My wife is 7 weeks & 2 days pregnant she had a small amount of discharge blood late at night then in morning she got up to use the restroom & whip & saw blood we went to the er & they said she has a subchorionic hemorrhage but she has no pain just morning sickness been scared for past few days & are appointment for the ultrasound is in 2 weeks so these pass few days been going by slow & i been stuck in my thoughts but keep telling her everything fine but deep down scared because i don’t know if everything going to be fine:/…. best option i can is just pray for the best
This happened to me in 1995 13 weeks into the pregnancy. I was told that these usually heal on their own or I would likely miscarry. I did not miscarry but continued to have bouts of hemorrhage. I had several transfusions and at 25 weeks the baby was taken due to low platelet levels. I think my doctor called it a chronic abruption. He survived no compromise. Miraculous. During the surgery the doctor asked where is the placenta? There was none left it had been replaced by chains of clots. This made me wonder, is this a possible complication of a sch?

I was never told what my bleed was because of but I do believe it was a sch. The clot that came away was the size of my palm. I’m 10 weeks 2 days now though 🤞🏻 and heartbeat has been seen twice

Thanks so much for your video. I'm 35 and my first pregnancy was healthy- We have a 2 year old child. I was 7-8 weeks pregnant with our second child and I'm about 99% sure I had a miscarriage last week. I experienced light bleeding with some small clots for about 4 days, then had cramping for 1 day and passed a big strange clot 3"x1" that well, looked a bit like a placenta. I've been bleeding for about 8 days total (seems to be basically done now) and I'm still testing positive on pregnancy tests. I haven't wanted to go in anywhere because I really just thought this was a miscarriage and there was nothing that could be done. I wonder if there is any way I could still be pregnant, with SCH. I hope so, but I don't think so.
I am currently 4weeks 3days. I woke up with light spotting which later resulted to heavy bleeding with clots. I’m so scared since this is my first pregnancy. I really don’t want to lose this pregnancy. If the bleeding continues tomorrow I will most likely visit the doctor. This happened to me a few days ago , this is my 5th pregnancy just over 7 weeks I feel a gush of blood and as I’m completely unaware of this happening I automatically think it’s a loss . I started spotting from 6weeks 4 days. Today I'm at 9weeks 2 days. Till now 3 episodes of sudden dark and fresh blood other than spotting.. I was freaking out and ended up at ER for 2 times. In the middle of the time I also met my OB At 7th week. At that time, they couldn't diagnose anything. But 4 days back in ER they diagnosed me as SCH. Though it is small but I'm freaking out. Till now I had 3 times of USG and all of them showed alive IUP with good fetal heart rate. Tomorrow is my routine appointment with OB. Let's see what she says.
I had third trimester bleeding around 30 weeks. At first they thought it was a small placental abruption but now they think it is a SCH. Is this common to be diagnosed in third trimester and is there any research showing outcomes if it is discovered later in pregnancy?
I suffered a massive sch bleed at 6 weeks. I passed many massive clots and was told I had a miscarriage. I bled for about a month thereafter. At a routine check up it was discovered I have not miscarriage after all. I'm 32 weeks pregnant now.

My wife experienced bleeding last weekend we were terrified. We went to emerge expecting the worst however the babys heartbear was strong and the dr said that its a normal healthy pregnancy. A wave of relief filled our heart. Were at 9 weeks now 🤞

I’m 10weeks I had a gush of pink discharge after my husband and I had sex. Shortly after about 30mins or so, it was bright red fresh blood. (today is 1/31/2023) we went to the Er immediately this past Sunday and they did an Ultrasound scan and explain to us I had a SCH.. they explained everything to us. My vitals were good, the baby heart rate was great and during the ultrasound I saw the baby moving around 🥰 But I was still very scared being that this is our first child together and we were trying to conceive for 3 months prior to becoming pregnant. Since Sunday the ER visit, I’ve have a dark brown discharge that is slowly subsiding associated with occasional mild cramps(which could also be growing pains). We have an appointment this Thursday with our OB to make sure everything is still progressing properly. Send us positive vibes 💕💕 and to the mommies who’s experiencing the same thing may god bless us all and give us perfect peace and healthy babies!

I am soo glad I ran into you Dr. Perez! I’m in my first pregnancy and because of my age group, i am feeling like i’ve been in purgatory since my i’ve first started bleeding. I was told in my first ultrasound that i was 5 weeks, when the following week I started to bleed brown then all of a sudden i had a day that was heavier and i was on day 7 or bleeding. As you can imagine i freaked out and went to the ER , and they said that I was actually showing 5 weeks. I was told at the ER that if the previous ultrasound was correct, then it may show signs that the baby is not growing and it may not be a viable pregnancy. My heart broke into a million pieces. They sent me to outpatient to a local OBGYN and they began testing for the hormone levels to see if that statement was true. Yesterday, I received the good news that the baby is growing! I’m inly sharing this information here in case any other mother to be ever runs into these situations at the emergency room! Make sure you get second opinions and stay as positive as you can be! This actually happened to me and I was told I wasn’t pregnant and later found out I was pregnant at 11 weeks via vaginal ultrasound. I didn’t get a positive home pregnancy test until my 12th weeks. I had a boy.

Sending strength to women and couples going through this. In my case I numbed my emotions and couldn´t fully connect with or enjoy the pregnancy in first -second trimestre. I just willed everything to get better.
This was my first pregnancy at 37/38 years old. We planned and prepared for pregnancy and to our relief, it happened within 2 months. I had implementation bleeding which was quite heavy, I actually assumed it was a slightly early period. Later at 7 weeks pregnant after a sudden small bleed, a SCH was diagnosed. It lasted 4 months. And included about 4 trips to the ER. Sometimes heavy bleeds (gushing tap) and clots (larger than the size of a fried egg) would happen out of nowhere. It was traumatic. Each time I had no cramps and the heartbeat was fine and cervix tightly closed.
For months I rested as often as possible and moved incredibly gently, slowly and carefully. The third trimestre was better, it had completely gone away. I could go for gentle hikes again, swim a little, and felt more at ease to become emotionally connected and more hopeful about my growing baby. I went on to have a healthy baby by elective CS at 39 weeks.
The truth is so many families have traumatic fertility journeys, pregnancies, and or births. Just take it day by day. I´m just about ready now to try for my second one and hope whatever the journey, the outcome will be a healthy baby, and if not learn to accept that too.
So much more research and study is needed in the area of pregnancy and more education and support should be provided. We have a long way to go. It´s great that more videos are being put up about this. In 2019 when I had mine, I feel like there was much less info available about SCH online and on youtube.
Kudos also to all those who share as I think that´s what helped me not feel so alone when I went through mine. It also helps to know someone went through the same or a severe situation and things got better. It´s temporary, things will get better.

I’m so glad that there is more information out there about this. I had them in 3 of my last 4 pregnancies found on ultrasound. I actually never bled and was made to feel like I was almost certainly going to miscarry all three times. I had all three kids between 39 and 40 weeks totally healthy and kind of feel like I was made to feel fearful unnecessarily. Mine completely reabsorbed by 20 weeks. These were all in the last 8 years but I feel like public information about SCH has come really far. It’s encouraging and I really appreciate this content.
I’m 39 with 4 children and had no idea that you could bleed without it meaning a miscarriage until this happened to me a few days ago and I learned in a birth group about sch. I hope my story in that group will reassure anyone who it happens too as you have me

@@catherinenakibombo7322 yes they either bleed out or reabsorb without any medication. There is currently no approved medication proven to help with SCH. All four of mine reabsorbed over time (2-11 weeks).

From my personal experience, I would recommend anyone with hematoma to rest/ take it easy.
I had a hematoma, doctor told me there's nothing I can do about it, and definitely no need for bed rest. Unfortunately, at 18 weeks we lost the pregnancy.
Now I am pregnant again, I had hematoma again, we decided- this time - no risks!
I went on bed rest at 14 weeks and thank God, at 20 weeks it totally desolved.

Omg this video was so much more informative than anything my fertility & OB could give me. They just say "we dont know why it happen".
I’m 11 weeks today and I went to the ER last night for a HUGE gush of blood. I thought for sure I was miscarrying. I had no cramps though which gave me a shred of faith. I went back for an ultrasound and they saw a healthy baby measuring a day ahead with a heartbeat of 170. They saw a “sack” of blood and the doctor explained that everything looked great, just had a hematoma.
Exactly same experience! I’m still 7 weeks and went to ER. After scan they say baby is fine however I’m on bedrest until I stop getting discharges. I bled a lot and as soon as those hematomas came out bleeding stopped.
This happened to me yesterday during work. I am 11w3d. I felt a gush of blood while walking. I started to bleed heavily but had no cramps. I fortunately work at a hospital and a coworker wheeled me down to the ED immediately. They found a subchorionic hematoma located on the left side of my uterus which is on the opposite side of the baby. Baby’s heart was fluttering with a normal heart rate. It was the most terrifying thing I have ever experience. Thank you for this video, it makes me feel so much better.

I lost my child this year due to sch. I bled more than i ever have in my life. I bled a cup full. Filled with nothing but a clot and blood. Im 5 weeks 3 days pregnant now and freaking.i was diagnosed with sch when I clotted the other day when my hcg was at 9,000. Went back today with severe cramps and bleeding (no clotting.) And my hcg was 24,894.. with a sonogram of my baby and the babies heart... i dont understand whats going on since im still obviously progessing to make me bleed so much but i hope and pray my baby makes it 😔 i get so panicked when i see blood it intsantly puts me in a panic attack.. fingers crossed it doesnt happen again!
My wife and I are going through this currently. She had bleeding at about 13 weeks with back pain and cramps. She also passed a blood clot. We thought she was having a miscarriage, which was an incredibly scary and emotional experience. Thankfully it was diagnosed as a mild subchorionic hemorrhage, so it will hopefully heal and have no impact on the baby. She's continuing to have bleeding about 5 days later so it's still pretty scary right now.

Thank you for sharing I also have a sch at 5w 5d with twins on thanksgiving I was passing big clots I thought I was having a miscarriage and I did have contractions I went to the er. They told me because it’s so early it’s hard to tell but baby A is good with a heartbeat baby b didn’t have a heartbeat but they said it’s early to see a heartbeat I have a follow up in 2 days praying both babies are okay and growing. I’m a surrogate so I had 2 embryo transferred earlier this month. Praying for the parents and the twins🙏
Update I just had my follow up ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days today and unfortunately I miscarried the twins. Praying for all who are going through this.
I'm at weeks 12 pregnant now experiencing bleeding now it started with light bleeding then followed with camping and heavy bleeding I terrified called the midwife came and checked and assured me that the baby is still there safe. I started spotting at 6 wks and knew I was miscarrying but I went to ER and did u/s it showed a viable pregnancy fhr 134. The spotting stopped after 3 days but returned daily and throughout since. Had another U/s 2 wks later and viable pregnancy still. I am praying every day. This is so scary cause I have minimal symptoms only fatigue and sob. This gave me some hope.

This is exactly how my first trimester experience was. Had heavy bleeding on 3 occasions, a couple weeks apart. Same gush of blood and continued bleeding for about 2-3 hours. My doctor didn’t explain things well at all and they documented it as a threatened miscarriage. Baby was fine on the ultrasound though. It was only through my own research that I was able to better understand what I was experiencing. My doctor also had me take crinone gel as treatment which was quite expensive and as I’ve learned, likely unnecessary and ineffective (also quite messy). Thankfully, by the 2nd trimester, no more bleeding episodes and I’m now at 30 weeks with a healthy baby bouncing around inside 😊.
I’ve never gone to a male gynecologist; frankly just the thought is repulsive. You are the kind of gyno I’ve always had. A welcoming demeanor and of course you “get it”. Your frightening experience definitely makes you even more aware and able to relate.

One year ago today I was 7w4d and had been bleeding for about 2 weeks. Finally had my ultrasound and went in sobbing because I just assumed I had lost the baby, but instead was diagnosed with an SCH and got to hear my sweet babes heartbeat of 136bpm. My doctor scheduled another ultrasound to check it a week later, where we found out that baby unfortunately no longer had a heartbeat. I've continuously blamed myself for the loss (even though I know I couldn't have prevented the SCH), but since that diagnosis last year, this is the most I've heard/learned about SCH. Currently 23 weeks and so far no complications/no SCH so just praying for the best for the next 17 weeks.

In my case I have noticed bleeding when I wipe too hard, when I feel constipated and have to push a bit harder, or when I have pressed my belly against something and have caused me pain.
Now I know a bit more what to do and what to keep an eye for. But still I'm around 6 to 8 weeks pregnant at the moment. Hopefully it will keep growing 🙏

I had bleeding at 5 weeks…. It was pretty light for an entire week! At my 8 week ultrasound I was told I had a sch and that’s what must’ve caused the bleeding prior! It’s small, so hopefully it heals with no issues 🙏🏽

This brought a bit of peace of mind! I had an early miscarriage in my first pregnancy. Had my rainbow baby Aug 2021. And just discovered I have SCH at 9wks via ultrasound. The wait and see approach is hard, but it's good to hear SCH alone doesn't mean increased risk of miscarriage.

Thank you so much, I'm on my 15th weeks now but still experiencing some bleeding thought doctors already told me before that bleseding is because of the blood cloth and it will going out or will be absorb by my body.. This is my first pregnancy through IVF at age 36 and I've had bleeding but mostly huge clots. So scary. It's been within about 4 days and 3 big clots. I found out this morning I have a subchorionic hemmorage and now I have to be on bedrest for a week as I'm only almost 7 weeks. I can't sleep well and I'm so nervous. Doesn't help that I already have a panic disorder but knowing that others have gone through this and been okay does help! Thank you for this video!

@@shawnbrisk4523 yes! I was on bedrest for about a week and it resolved itself and is now gone. I think it depends on the size of them. Mine was fairly large which is why the clots were so big. I've heard that most of the time, it resolves on its own.
I had ivf as well and currently 13 weeks. I have a large hematoma. I’ve had 3 big scares with cramping so I was put on bed rest for about 6 weeks. I have an appointment tomorrow to see how it’s healing. I have to wear a pad 24-7. Bleeding isn’t bad but hasn’t stopped. I can’t do much or I start cramping and bleeding more. If your partner is going through this be patient and loving. This isn’t easy at all especially if you’re an active person.
Did you continue taking the baby aspirin or stop?

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with my second, I started following you when I was pregnant with my first and interested in your content on the Covid vaccine during pregnancy (received both vaccines in third trimester as a health care worker). With both pregnancies, I had spotting/light bleeding about two times during the first trimester which are very scary. I was never diagnosed with a subchronic hematoma via ultrasound, it seems that either hormonal fluxes or cervical changes led to bleeding in my case (even around the same weeks). Even knowing that bleeding can be normal in the first trimester, your mind always goes to the worst case scenario. Thank you for your content!
I'm so glad you found it helpful! It truly is such a tough thing to counsel about because of course it could be a sign of a miscarriage but it is ALSO totally normal to have some bleeding with healthy pregnancies. The unknown is hte hardest to live with.

Fyi, there are clinics all around that only do ultrasound for a small fee. I have an appt today for mine because I am experiencing moderate bleeding at 8 weeks. Thank you for this information, I'm praying it's all as it should be❤️🙏
I also had a SCH in my first trimester that included bleeding and a trip to the ER then later closer to my due date it was discovered I also had placenta previa and we decided a c-section would be best thankfully it all worked out and my little one is 15 months and perfectly healthy

Thank you for sharing your personal experience. My Dr always talked about chances of miscarriage diminishing after 8 weeks and the day I turned 9 weeks I felt a gush of warm fluid coming out just like when you're on your period. I hurry to the bathroom bright red blood! No cramps I was convinced I was having a miscarriage. Rushed to the ER they found a mild SCH, heartbeat was strong and baby was moving around. That was a bit reassuring but still scary. Bleeding stopped the night of but came back 2 days later which is now today as we speak. I try to not worry as I can bleed for a while before it can resolve. Praying for a healthy pregnancy nonetheless 🙏

I’m in the same boat. Had one giant gush of blood, then brown spotting, and now today I’m having some small rust colored bleeding. I’m hoping this means it’s just resolving itself. Here in solidarity as well🙏

I was told I had sch at 7 weeks. I never bled though. My doctor told me not to worry because as the baby gets bigger, it squishes all the blood out. At my last appointment at 12 weeks, it had completely disappeared.
I’m 7 weeks and was told yesterday about the SCH. I haven’t bleed either! I’m hoping to have the same outcome as you at my next appointment

Same just turned 8 weeks today! Doc told me I had sch told me it was small should go away alone but I might experience bleeding around this time.. told me not to lift anything and to not put any pressure on myself. Havent had any bleeding yet but hopefully by my next visit it is all gone !

I had this when I was 11weeks pregnant I was scared as this was my first pregnancy and with PCOS, I went to the ER and they told me it was SCH never heard about it before but thank God baby boy is 5 weeks old today. Just take it easy don’t run, exercise or lift heavy stuffs and drink lots of water

I've given birth to 4 children... so I'm not new to pregnancy and all it's surprises.
But I had my period all last week. Saturday was my last day of period. I often have little headaches on a daily basis, but two days later, Monday, I started having one of the worst headaches and it was very unusual compared to my usual headaches. I ended up crying by the afternoon and my back was aching.
My husband has never really had a headache, so he doesn't understand my pain, but even that day he was making phone calls to see what we could do to fix me.
Eventually, I went to the restroom and noticed my period was back! I used a "super" tampon, but a couple hours later, I felt that it was already time to change it... which is unusual.
When I went to change it, that's when I passed a huge blood clot the size of my finger!
The only other time I've lost a blood clot like this was when I had a miscarriage a couple years ago.
Mind you, I wasn't trying to get pregnant. I'm 38. My husband is 45. Together, we have 7 children. So....I didn't think it was a miscarriage because I didn't think I was pregnant. I just had my period!
Immediately, I went to the store and bought a pregnancy test. I took the test in the store bathroom and it came back positive.
I called my doctor, but they can't get me in for over a month.
I'm not bleeding anymore after that clot passed 4 days ago, but all day, everyday, I'm still having this terrible headache that's unusual from my "normal" headaches. It's unbearable at times. I don't feel like myself.
My mid back is still aching, which it never does until now.
I don't want to, but I guess my best next step is to go to the emergency room.
I just don't know what's going on.

In my first pregnancy I had a very small bleed/spotting and I ended up going 39 weeks and giving birth to a healthy baby. Now I'm pregnant with my 2nd and had a major bleed this time and so far no miscarriage, even though I'm still early in my first trimester. 🤞
This is so helpful. My wife is going through a similar thing at 6 weeks pregnant. She went to the ER and she has been scheduled for an ultrasound scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed

I had a scan and blood test done today, they couldn't see much in the scan said i was too early. So Monday need to do another blood test and there after a scan in 10 days. Hopefully everythings all good by Gods grace 🙏🏽
Update: my second bloodtest showed my hgc levels dropped. 5 days of bleeding has stopped completely. No further follow-up required. I keep telling myself I'm still preg as I swear I can feel a tingle. Who knows I'll do a preg test tom and if it shows preg I am. All my so call hcg levels are back to 0 since Tuesday morning.

Weeks and 4 days and then the heartbeat was strong I have another ultrasound Monday the 15th and I have had bleeding like I'm on my period one day with clots and then spotting the next and it has happened 3 days now but not in a row . I am experiencing the same Jenifer. I was at the ER last night, they fund a huge hematoma so the de was not really positive. Baby have a heart rate 98 he said it’s ok but not very strong. So now I am in my bed and waiting to see how it will turn out. How are you ? How big is your hematoma ?

I’m 42 and got pregnant through IVF. At 13 weeks, I had a gush of blood which continued for a few hours. I went to the emergency and all I needed was comfort and a solution. Well the doctor that I had said I can just wait it out and see what happen, or have an abortion. This is our first baby. The ultrasound came back that our baby was fine and that the cervix was closed. Why would I opted for an abortion? 9 hours in the emergency room with no solution, I chose to wait it out. I immediately put myself on bed rest, watch TH-cam and find another mother who recommended taking vitamin C. So far the bleeding have stopped. I’m hopeful and wishing everyone good luck!
Very similar story here! I conceived via IUI and had a sch at 6+4. That bleed lasted about 24-36 hours. At about 8 weeks I lost some more but it was brown blood so older. I was told that sch is more likely to happen when a pregnancy is due to IUI or IVF. I am almost 12 weeks and had some really light spotting the last two days. It’s such a scary thing especially after infertility! Praying you’re doing well! ❤

Currently 11 weeks and 3 days and had this happen to me. The er doc was confident that at this time I am not having a miscarriage and it was just a subchorionic hematoma as there was a heart beat and no ultra sound on the weekends but I'll call and inform my ob tomorrow as well. Currently no cramps and the bleeding has stopped trying to stay hopeful that's why I'm here to learn more about this

I had two subchorionic hemorrhages about a week apart and about two weeks after the second one I miscarried my twins I was 12 weeks into the pregnancy. It's been almost a month and I miss them. We had to bury them it was so surreal holding their tiny bodies.

Been Scared My wife is 7 weeks & 2 days pregnant she had a small amount of discharge blood late at night then in morning she got up to use the restroom & whip & saw blood we went to the er & they said she has a subchorionic hemorrhage but she has no pain just morning sickness been scared for past few days & are appointment for the ultrasound is in 2 weeks so these pass few days been going by slow & i been stuck in my thoughts but keep telling her everything fine but deep down scared because i don’t know if everything going to be fine:/…. best option i can is just pray for the best

I had this but the doctor just dismissed it when I asked her what it was! She just said oh it’s nothing to worry about instead of explaining it!

This happened to me in 1995 13 weeks into the pregnancy. I was told that these usually heal on their own or I would likely miscarry. I did not miscarry but continued to have bouts of hemorrhage. I had several transfusions and at 25 weeks the baby was taken due to low platelet levels. I think my doctor called it a chronic abruption. He survived no compromise. Miraculous. During the surgery the doctor asked where is the placenta? There was none left it had been replaced by chains of clots. This made me wonder, is this a possible complication of a sch?

I was never told what my bleed was because of but I do believe it was a sch. The clot that came away was the size of my palm. I’m 10 weeks 2 days now though 🤞🏻 and heartbeat has been seen twice

Thanks so much for your video. I'm 35 and my first pregnancy was healthy- We have a 2 year old child. I was 7-8 weeks pregnant with our second child and I'm about 99% sure I had a miscarriage last week. I experienced light bleeding with some small clots for about 4 days, then had cramping for 1 day and passed a big strange clot 3"x1" that well, looked a bit like a placenta. I've been bleeding for about 8 days total (seems to be basically done now) and I'm still testing positive on pregnancy tests. I haven't wanted to go in anywhere because I really just thought this was a miscarriage and there was nothing that could be done. I wonder if there is any way I could still be pregnant, with SCH. I hope so, but I don't think so.
Found out the "big strange clot" was a decidual cast, I'm testing negative on pregnancy tests now.
I am currently 4weeks 3days. I woke up with light spotting which later resulted to heavy bleeding with clots. I’m so scared since this is my first pregnancy. I started spotting from 6weeks 4 days. Today I'm at 9weeks 2 days. Till now 3 episodes of sudden dark and fresh blood other than spotting.. I was freaking out and ended up at ER for 2 times. In the middle of the time I also met my OB At 7th week. At that time, they couldn't diagnose anything. But 4 days back in ER they diagnosed me as SCH. Though it is small but I'm freaking out. Till now I had 3 times of USG and all of them showed alive IUP with good fetal heart rate. Tomorrow is my routine appointment with OB. Let's see what she says.

I had third trimester bleeding around 30 weeks. At first they thought it was a small placental abruption but now they think it is a SCH. Is this common to be diagnosed in third trimester and is there any research showing outcomes if it is discovered later in pregnancy?
