    Thanks for your positive comments. We have continued filming Washington for almost a year now, he is just about independent and heading out into the forest with his wombat buddies. Come back over the next months for more videos.

    Thank you so much for sharing your love for these cute little animals. It is great to see that there people like you who devoted their time to help them..
    Recently I learnt a lot about them, and bats and sloth …I had no ideas! They are part of our environment that I would like my grand children to be able to love…. And not disappear. You play a big part!

    being a wombat mum is hard work. I tried and only lasted three days. I apparently had a hard start joey but still, these guys have to be bonded to and cared for/fed just as much as a new born baby. I'd say its harder for wombat mums then human mums, because their is so much fighting/disease/medical issues these women have to deal with with their babies. They get no aid from the government and they are usually full time volunteers. And the wombat mums i know of are full time for many years, i'm sure this woman is too. You guys are saints for what you do.

    I've fallen in love with wombats from the first time I saw them. They are so adorable and harmless which make people feel happy and safe to stay with them. Animals eating plant ( Herbivore ) tend to be gentle, friendly and lovable, and Wombat is an example of that. I hope that animal carers can look after wombats carefully and give them a peaceful life with us humans. Anyway, love your videos!

      Nope! Cute on the Telly, but a handful and full time work. A human baby is in a crib. The wombat climbs out and needs constant attention, cleaning, feeding, exercise, cuddling, and destroys your house. Its a vocation like being a nun. You have to love it and devote yourself to it 24/7.

    Tania, you are such a wonderful, dedicated, knowing, generous, strong and loving carer. All that I have seen supports the amazing work you do. It is no wonder those wombats have thrived in your care and grown into such strong, independent, and successfully released wombats in the wild. Fantastic work! Keep up the wonderful work you are doing, and keep sharing your love and passion with all who are interested.You have taught me a great deal. Thank you so much, for all you do.

    Fantastic Video, we absolutely love it! Fantastic filming and interviews, and a powerful message for others to see. I am so happy that a balanced and loving and glimpse of raising Wombats in care is presented. There is so much more to these wonderful creatures than meets the eye, and this video captures a bit of that too. Well done! I wish more people are able to see this and get an idea of the wombat's intelligence and abilities. Thank you all for putting this together for everyone to see, and Thank you to the wonderful, dedicated and loving carer of Washington Wombat.
    Great job to all involved here....such a refreshing, and lovingly positive vision. Thank you!!
    PS. We cant wait to see more!

    That was gorgeous and informative, the woman used to do commentary has a wonderful voice and manner. The footage is beautiful. The music is however, disappointing - I would have turned it off except I of course wanted to hear the commentary, plus I thought the natural sounds from the wombats, carers and their homes might be there instead of the music. It's music that I tend to hear over things for small children that is guaranteed to drive adults insane.

      Couldn't agree more! Which tone deaf lunatic was it who decided that every documentary film had to have a unmusical soundtrack in order to be acceptable? A soundtrack which is boring and banal, repetitive, irritating and worst of all, completely overwhelms the import of the visuals or narrators. It is impossible for the brain to retain any information under these circumstances. What is wrong with recording the natural sounds of the visuals? Why must we be 'entertained' by something which serves only to detract from the production? It is as though we must cram as much unnecessary and distracting noise into the visual experience in order to ... do what, exactly??

  • @mjremy2605
    @mjremy2605 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Lovely segments of wombat play in there, enjoyed the video very much, but your forced music hurt my ears to the point of rage. DO NOT FORCE MUSIC ON US. Music is wholly inappropriate in wildlife, animal, tour, or DIY videos. We are here based on video content. We did not approve the music selection. You picked the music and bundled it up as a packaged deal. If you have human voices in the video, we cannot turn off the sound. So, its the worst possible combination. DO.NOT.PLAY.MUSIC.
    EVER. Silence is golden. Natural sounds only. Roll the tape. Do not edit.

    who you able to keep them as a pet

    • @wombatcarebundanoon942
      @wombatcarebundanoon942 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, these animals are strictly raised to be able to be released back into the wild. They would never be happy as pets anyway. It would be cruel to deny them their desire to live as a free, wild wombat. Also,....their wild side, and instinctual urges take over when they get a bit older, and are ready for a successful soft release.
      Also, You have to be a member of a wildlife group and go through the training courses from the wildlife rescue groups in your area to be able to get a license, and then be trained up as a licensed wildlife carer.

    • @westparadefilms
      @westparadefilms  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Wombats are among the most ancient of mammals. They are marsupials, like kangaroos. The young are born tiny, about the size of a bean, and make their way to the mother's pouch, where they live for several months, sucking on milk from their mother until they are ready to venture out into the world.
