    Just sold my house Friday, went to an open house at my local dealership yesterday and they had a White Sand Pearl one there. Making her mine for msrp, freight and surcharge. Feel like I’m getting a fair deal so I’m excited! My first brand new bike ever and I’m 47!

    Couldn’t agree more. I am 5’6” and it feels like this bike was built for me too. Love how it feels. I tried it with a reach seat and it was solid, but I bet a Saddleman or Lapera would be perfect.

      @@FXDLSBrooklyn I honestly don’t know. It’s park of what I need to figure out. All I know right now is the stock rear feels too low and far back and the reach seat felt a little too far forward. It feels like I need something in the middle. The stock bars also feel a little too low.

    What about us Taller gals? haha.
    I'm 5ft10in, and I got a Fat Boy 114, and with the kickback mod to the windshield(where you use 3inch mending plates to extend the lower mount so the windshield tilts backwards), it's fantastic for touring. I am considering getting a taller windshield and keeping the kickback mod to see if it'd be better.
    Forwards and Floorboards are fantastic for comfort.
    I really love the M8 Softail, it's what made me want to buy a harley when all their other options didnt look all that great. And the LRST is really kicking things up for the better.
    Awesome platform.

    Hey mate i love this vid man so informative. Here the thing we have discussed the cons before. I'm 6' 2.or 3 So I went for boards. I didn't get genuine 22 boards cause of the cost. I went good 2ndhand. But the dealer immediately figured out I didn't line up the plunger to the correct angle, (footbrake) and made me initial my service sheet so warranty wouldn't be an issue on them. I don't use the back brake very much anyways maybe on a steep hill.. from stationary..2 disc front, who needs a rear brake. 10 inch windscreen, yeah nah..I don't suffer from wind on the lid, but my beard still blows into my face as much as it did on my Roady. with screen fitted. Stock pipes its sounds like a sewing machine..I got some great 2ndhand Screaming Eagle pipes ( slip ons) and she sounds like a harley now.. and man yep even just letting her breath a bit better increased her overall performance. and you already knew I changed that thing they call a stock saddle...

      @@FXDLSBrooklyn Honestly getting wind protection in the ST along with cruise control on a much lighter/faster bike is what sold me. 90% of my riding is city riding or day riding in the canyons. Lowrider is gonna do that waaaaay better than a bagger. I might miss it on the long straight roads, but that accounts for such a small portion of my total riding. Plus with a good seat, and bung king bars for stretching the legs out, it's solid. I have yet to miss my bagger in any way shape or form.

    BKLow: "I just wanted a mini Van, i just want it to blend into grey man zone..."
    Narrarator: insert James Harden side eye gif.
    For years I have preached the gospel of sport touring as the great American sidearm. I'd tried for years to own stripped down motorcycles that could only carry an adjustable wrench and a seat barely comfortable enough for crosstown traffic but would look amazing in gritty inner city photo shoots, but trying to commute while carrying backpacks with work food, gym gear, tools, welding leads, various groceries and/home supplies always ruined the day, the trip, the vibe; the store security guards snapping and unsnapping their service revolver because I'd inevitably stop for gas and go into the store for refreshments looking like Edmund Hillary and they'd assumed I was going to don a Tricky Dick mask and pull out an Uzi to rob the store of individual wrapped hardboiled eggs, slim Jim's and Code Red. I found it was easier to carry everything in saddlebags and enjoy the seasonal and climate fickle commutes behind a functional fairing. Not that I still don't admire motorcycle only designed back packs and lust after Sportsters with 15" shocks, MX handlebars, cut down fenders and a gas tank that just big enough for fumes.
    From the moment I saw the ST I knew I'd better not sit on it. I knew Harley had written the perfect country and/or western song and I knew my lanky Heinz 57 DNA would struggle with the ergonomics but I loved it from second one, they'd built the perfect American commuter motorcycle! I'm extremely thrilled that you're building the ST and look forward to seeing it with flames and a chromed and twisted sissy bar that will scrape the heavens!

    • @FXDLSBrooklyn
      @FXDLSBrooklyn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha amazing man - Don’t tempt me with that custom sissy bar idea 👀 - It’s funny, since I’ve been the ST videos, I’ve had a few taller dudes write in and share some of the mods they’ve done to make it work
