    Bro. Take your seat off and replace the bolt that holds the rear shock adjustor up with a grade 8 with nut (1/4-20 coarse 3/4-1" ). A BUNCH of people are having the bolt loosen off and end up sheering and the adjustor falling down and getting crushed between the rear fender and tire and messing up both. Good review.

      @FXDLSBrooklyn  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This would happen time to time on the Dyna - On this bike, it has actually given me no issues, however, upgrading that bolt is never a bad idea since it will be doing the long mile days - Thanks for keeping an eye out man! 👀

    In the music world, we run guitars and amps with a lot of mid range frequencies to "cut the mix" and be sound over the bass (lows) and vocals (high). The twin cam reminds me of the mid range frequencies in the mix. Cuts through and everyone hears it.

    I’m 6ft tall and the bike also fits very well after swapping the seat. It’s a more aggressive sporty position, but I got used to it and can crush miles just ok 👍🏽 not going back to the road glide anytime soon

    Its no secret that i love the Softail ST, I went to the dealer the day they came out to buy one but they didn't have one that wasn't sold yet, and i decided that my height and riding style wasn't suited for the ST in the same way that i won't have an affair with Exene Cervanka, while it looks like a good match on paper, its probably best we admire each other from afar...
    Saying that, i got caught in cautious Kentucky lane splitting behind a few year old Lowrider S that had mismatched sheet metal, tall t-bars, jacked up suspension, a sketchy side tailight, and what looked like a homemade plexiglass windshield and a loud ass pipe and a hellrider that understood the assignment. Granted i saw myself twenty...thirty plus years earlier on my ratty Shovelhead and i thought to myself that while the ESGX suits me just fine, maybe I'm not too old to do the Once over Twice.
    Im looking forward to seeing your adventures and modifications to the ST and ill try not to imagine what an "older" S and do what i do best...
    I must not think bad thoughts...
    (Bonus points old punk rockers if you get the references. )

    If you want your dyna to be more nimble. You simply drop the front end. Slide the clamps down on the forks. No more than 3-5 mm at a time. It can go south quick. Basically less rake or lower the fork clamps are, the quicker it will turn in. But you will trade off high speed stability. And vise versa. Raising clamps increase stability decrease turn in..Lowering and rasing the rear end will have simpler effect but not quite the same. Or moving the rear tire in or out to lengthen or shorten wheel base. This applies to any motorcycle. You sag should be set correctly or to your liking in conjunction. As this is in fact changing the bikes geometry.
    Many are completely unaware of this and how to Taylor the bike to you.. Profesional racers are typically changing this from track to track

    • @dormantmenace
      @dormantmenace ปีที่แล้ว

      No amount of that tuning will make it a fxr or modern softail. You can get it to out turn that softail in the tight twistys but it will never have eithers high speed stability lol
      But.. you can fine tune to you.

    • @FXDLSBrooklyn
      @FXDLSBrooklyn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely an interesting idea! I personally would not want to make the tradeoff in regards to highway speeds, but I might make sense if someone is primarily hitting twisties and back roads

    • @dormantmenace
      @dormantmenace ปีที่แล้ว

      Eehh dyna only good to like 120 no matter what really. Its gonna start wallowing after that...80-100 if it got stock suspension and worn motor mounts. So it's not really much of a trade off unless you dropped clamps durasticaly. On a more stable platform it would be more noticeable or on dirtbikes especially. It sounds crazy to give up any stability on a dyna. But it's triiple digit stability is so bad. Ur not likely to notice anything much. Other than improved turn in.

    Did the saddlemans seat add to the overall seat height? I’m 5,6 and can just barely flat foot the low rider s with the stock seat. Any higher and it would be a little difficult to walk the bike around.

      If you're 5'6 you will 100% be flatfooted even with the saddlemen seat - The saddlemen will push you forward a bit, but I found does not add any height, at least any that's noticeable

      I’m 6’5’’ and I’m actually in the middle of a 3k mile road trip on my ST. I had to get a tall boy seat, XL clear view windshield, forward controls, and a new air cleaner that doesn’t stick out as much (was hitting my shin). I also threw on some 12 inch apes (with the 4 inch riser so it’s 16 inches). It now - finally - fits me. I still may add the Heritage forward controls/floorboards, but the bike thrashes as is.
