Another factor that plays into Crossfade's absence that wasn't talked about was the lead singer's, Ed Sloan's depression. He talked about it in an interview promoting the band's album "We All Bleed". He spoke on how the sub-par success with their second album really took a tool on him emotionally, resulting in him not wanting to do music for a while. This also explains their darker themes on their 3rd album. It was thanks to his partner Les Hall to pull him up from his slump at got back on their grind. This may also result on why he went the "Christian" route musically. To find peace and serenity. Which is normally the case for new-born Christians. He may have realized that being in the band was not the best place for him. But hopefully he will find a balance and get back to playing kickass music while still having a healthy mindset.
Looks like 3 years after you posted this they’re finally having a concert reunion this year. You called it lol, I really hope they do continue to make good music

Yeah man in the video rock feed did not say in the video that the band first drummer Brian Geiger left the band in 2004 and was replaced by James branham who was in the Cold music video
I didn't even know about this album until now, and Crossfade was one of my favorite bands of all time. Shame that they didn't get the marketing they deserved!! :(
Some of the coolest dudes I've ever gotten the chance to meet. Saw them twice when their last album (which is amazing) came out, got to hang out both times after the show too. First one was acoustic because their vehicle that had all their gear blew up on the way to the show. Second one was amazing. I was front row, and I got personally handed a pick by Ed after a song, "cause I knew every damn lyric to every song." He remembered me after the show, thanking me for how well I knew their music. That definitely made me feel good lol. Shared a couple jager bombs with them too!
Remember those days when we got awesome racing games with great music and games with great music lol - thats how I would always find out about bands back then
Those old school playstation one-3 games always introduced people to the best music. So many bands that I love and still listen to right now are from videos games like MX vs AtV, Madden's, NHL, Fifa and WWE games always had the best music.
Rapture still gives me chills at the very end. Fighting Tao and Wars are beautiful songs, but I’d have to say Thank You for listening is my favorite Hurt song
The self titled album was a really amazing album. Theres alot of killer tracks that had dark deep lyrical content. Havent stopped listening to it since it came out, never will. Let's get these guys on the road.
Crossfade was my favorite band in my teen years. I'm in my mid 20's now and still think about this band. Hope all the members are doing well and enjoying life doing whatever they wanna do!
I saw them live in 2011, the first show of the We All Bleed tour, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They had a good live show, and I really got into that album (We All Bleed). Got to meet the whole band and shake hands with them. Good people. And they can f'n play.
listened to debut album a million times. My twins were about 6 and knew every word to every song . When I play any song from that album with my kids, we instantly belt out the tunes. Its definitely a musical bond we have with each other and no other band has come close. It will always be one of the very top albums of all time
The harmonies were second to none, beatiful compositions, and just as the comments say, the lyrics brought us through tough times growing up. It was strange growing up in the 90s and 2000s. The world changed like no other time before. Here we are many of us in our late 20s and 30s looking back on this group and wondering what the hell happened to music like this. Thank you Crossfade. You made timeless music for us.
Wow! i'm impressed. as a Crossfade Diehard I was worried. Idky, you guys always do good research! Even though we may never see more crossfade, I hope the masses can grow to appreciate their music more. To me their 3 albums are like 3 chunks of my soul. All i can hope for is that Ed and the rest of the guys are able to look back on it and say "damn man we had the stank!" and to be proud of the work they have done!
They're one of my favorite alternative metal/post grunge bands, ed sloan is great rythme guitar player he plays tricky/scretchy chords and riffs while singing which is something not many frontmen will to do, and i think their last album "we all bleed" is really good, it's Heavier and darker
If only you could watch me fall I cannot feel it anymore, the soul you cut, the soul you torn. I can’t feel you anymore, cuz, you’ve run through me with destructive force. I think somehow I gotta get it straight, I gotta get you out of me, but I cannot get through to you
The alcohol, the demerol these things never could replace What a minute with you could do To put a smile on my face...Dam good song, I was a Jr in High school when they released self titled album..
The way I found this band was crazy. Mx vs atv unleashed for the ps2 and cold so happened to be one of the tracks that played. Fell in love with the band ever since and is still my favorite rock band to this day.
*In that interview he sounded very depressed and . . kinda drunk but I'm glad he's alright and doing his own thing. But a farewell tour I would be fine with as long as I get to see them together one last time.* 🙏
Woah, throwback! I saw them in 2012 at a small festival, they were still tight and sounded awesome, but you could see they weren't happy that most of the crowd only knew "that one song"
When one song becomes very succesfull it can affect the band negatively, like bodies by drowning pool, almost every song in the album is better than it but most people only know that one song, i think they just dont bother to check more of the band music when they are already sick of hearing one song everywhere
@@soheibkidouche4745 I saw dp live in 2017 and pretty much everyone jammed tf out to every single song. when trapt played it was a different story tho lmao
Hey, I really like these! I liked the "tragic story if xxxx" but it was so dark. This is much more just informative and, imo, enjoyable. I really like how the channel is expanding! Quality work, thank you!
I've been throwback listening to their material this year and honestly hope one day we could get at least one more album, or if we're lucky, a tour that includes the EU/UK 🙏 Honestly they're one of the most underrated Alt Metal/Rock bands from the early 2000s era, pretty much all of their emotional themed songs always hit hard for me 🖤
Thanks for making this video Rock Feed! Crossfade has been one my favorites since their beginning! A few years back I had a little back and forth with Les Hall on Twitter and he claimed they had 70% of a 4th album done. They switched gears and he mentioned potential of a Greatest Hits but nothing came about. They all seem to stay pretty quiet on social media. If anyone, Mitch James is most active. One of the few bands I wish I could have seen live.
Their first album is a classic. They couldn’t ever repeat what they did and that’s okay. Sometimes things are better left how they are. I would like to see a 20 year anniversary in 2024 with remastered tracks, demos and maybe a few new songs recorded in the same style as that 2004 record. One can dream.
They had a lot of potential after their 3rd album We All Bleed.. the 10 minute closer Make Me a Believer couldn’t been the perfect catalyst for them to have prog influence on their next album. Unfortunately never happened...
Thanks to this video showing up on my feed I remembered to upload my recent cold cover to my channel 👍 Their debute album gets played at least once every year since I heard their debute single on the radio when they blew up 🥹❤️
Man after watching your new upload regarding their reunion after a decade . I came here to watch it again. You are a big part why Crossfade decided reunite . 🤘
Thank you so much for this great deep dive! I was never a bandhead who got to go to concerts or even dive deep into bands music. So I guess you could say missed out on the experience but I experienced the music in my own way. I still am unaware of the definition of Crossfade's story, name & intention behind their music. Sorry to all the fans who wish they were still making music. I'm glad though Ed found Christ & might've believed he needed to release more heartfelt music he supported. Hopefully the other members are good and aren't suffering from any addictions or issues. I am happy with the music we have. If they reunite for farewell that's nice but I do prefer to remember their high and Ed's new journey. Peace & hope to all!
The first album will never get old, it’s just their live performances were sloppy and the famous over night got to them and what was an amazing band just faded away, so much potential guys we all love and miss you!!!
I watched a few of those last live performances on video. Ooof, not gonna lie it was hard to watch. They make decent music but you can tell Les Hall is the main driving force of the band with his sheer talent.
They’ve updated their Facebook once every few years. They got dropped by their last label and then their studio and gear got caught in a fire. Think they’ve seen some rough times and in general take a while writing their material. Ed did some solo stuff that was pretty good in my opinion but very niche as it was more religion faced music. Still hope they go back out on tour soon at least. Miss them.
I'm a family friend of Tony and he had another band called The Undivided, it's an amazing band with only one album so far but all the music on there is absolutly amazing. Tony is an amazing song writer which is my theory about why the albums without him in Crossfade just dropped in quality.
They didn’t drop in quality. They lacked promotion. Listen to them. They’re just as great as the first album. And “We all bleed” is honestly a hidden gem front to back.
In my opinion when Tony left the band was no longer the same..... with Ed and Tony it worked. I was a huge fan of these guys back then and still am even saw them live twice. The 2nd time I didn’t even know Tony was gone. I got to meet them and asked them where Tony was but they seemed to not like talking about it. I was so disappointed and it wasn’t the same. Later finding out he got married and went on the religious side which is also cool. Tony did released songs on his MySpace page like “Left Behind” if anyone remembers MySpace lol.. and his new band The Undivided with song called “Change” and has a video. Those songs was awesome.. so yes would love to hear them ALL together again with Big T
I remember coming across this album at walmart of all places and I bought it when I was 15. I had the OG album when they had two singers on it. Their 1st album was really good for the time. Seems like Ed isnt into writing nu metal anymore, but with nu metal coming back, it may be his time to shine.
I thought Ed's solo work was really good, and it still bums me out that the solo album itself never materialized. I was excited to see what else he had in store, and hoped that he'd perhaps use some of that momentum to finally get back in the studio with Crossfade and produce at least one more album. In a perfect world, Crossfade would've kept rolling on just like other bands from that era like Chevelle, Three Days Grace, and even Breaking Benjamin.
Really enjoyed this! I was around Mitch's family for a long time, even worked with him for a few years. I know he wanted to get it up and going again, it's just they were just busy and the stars never really aligned properly for it to come together. I'm still hoping there's some sort of reunion concert or something in the works, was always a big fan of their music. Third album is highly underrated.
imho, We All Bleed was and is a extremely underrated album, the darker tones to all the songs and with amazing songs like "Lay Me Down" opener "Dead Memories" and the closer "Make Me a Believer" where the rest of the songs helped keep the vibe going between those tracks, least favorite track being "Dear Cocaine", I find myself listening to that album compared to their Self-titled album release.
Did anybody notice that the riff that's in the In This Moment song called: "Adrenalize" is the same riff in "Starless" by Crossfade or was I the only one who caught that plagiarism?
Good memories jamming to their 1st record.. I remember keeping it in my cd player for 2 months straight.. I went back and listened to it again a couple months ago. Nostalgia
I really miss these guys & their music. I hate it seems like they fell apart & have gone dark. However, They’ll never fade away. Your fans love & miss you E, 537,& Mark!!!
Damn, I was litterally thinking about what happen to crossfade on my way to work this morning and here is this video posted 2 days ago. I was thinking how underrated We all bleed is. when i first heard it when it came out i was like eh but as my tastes have changed in the last 10 years i realized damn its sooo good. great video
I listen to these guys and many of those 2000’s rockbands on a daily basis. I think the issue is that after 2010, the culture among youth changed again to arguably...some of the worst type of music in the genre of pop and rap. Everything became dominated by computers and independent artists who can make “beats” and the quality of music declined, as well as the demand to listen to rock bands. Yet, many still ate it up and now it’s in movies and all types of consumer media products. There’s more to it but Crossfade is now among the niche cultural nostalgia from the 2000’s only remembered by those who kept its legacy alive.
Crossfade is one of the most underrated rock bands ever. It would be great to see them return.

Colors is probably my favorite of their songs
This band was waaay better in the studio than in concert
The lead singer is a manager at a Bojangles in Lexington NC
imho, We All Bleed was and is a extremely underrated album, the darker tones to all the songs and with amazing songs like "Lay Me Down" opener "Dead Memories" and the closer "Make Me a Believer" where the rest of the songs helped keep the vibe going between those tracks, least favorite track being "Dear Cocaine", I find myself listening to that album compared to their Self-titled album release.
not all bands need a great send off. Let these guys go quietly on their own terms which seems to be what happened.
Did anybody notice that the riff that's in the In This Moment song called: "Adrenalize" is the same riff in "Starless" by Crossfade or was I the only one who caught that plagiarism?
It's not, I played both.
Good memories jamming to their 1st record.. I remember keeping it in my cd player for 2 months straight.. I went back and listened to it again a couple months ago. Nostalgia
Colors is my favorite crossfade song

That first record was great and I saw them twice and they put on a fantastic live show. Ed is cool.

Extremely well made as ever, Brian!
I still listen to them everyday..there music never gets old..Wish they would come back..🙏👍👏
