Dumb, indeed. The soul system is a little too obnoxious for my liking, but my biggest issues with BN5 are that you not only play through the entire story with mere 1st-version chips, but almost everything causes goddamn flinching now, including fucking Boomerangs of all things. I'd always hated speedkilling the bosses for that reason, since I thought there was too much emphasis on countering (easy as it may be.)
The S code is absolutely stacked this time around, for the simple reason that it has a large number of decent non-flinching chips. The N and H codes are folders that I like using, though the H code is usually far better for viruses.
I didn't actually want to whore Numberball and the Darkchips as much as I did, but when starting this I realised that I'd have gotten too frustrated and quit had I not done so. There are enough problems with this game as it is. If you've watched my other BN vids and think this pales in comparison, I'd have to agree.
That said, the Dark Megaman fight was too lulz not to include, and I think it's good for a cheap laugh. Nebula Grey is a retarded boss, but I ultimately liked how the fight turned out.
If you watch the very last fight and are surprised, you may be interested to know that BassBX of BN6 is the only incarnation whose buster spam is impossible to avoid through movement alone. - เกม

The Darksoul is able to use chips and PAs that the player has used previously in the same save file. It gives the impression of it copying or learning from your fighting style.

Yes. Emulator with built in recording feature, including frame advancement (the most important one besides save states.)

Aaron Zhang That's not it, he's using a TAS program. You can automate and change the frames of actions very slightly with it. Those frame changes make a massive difference, especially in games like BN. Also the fact that he selects all the chips without ever deselecting any of them or pausing for what is slightly longer than a quarter second automatically proves it.
It sucks that you have to go through the entire main storyline with only level one chips. It's like baby mode, you can barely do anything

Hmm I almost believed you are good until I saw the last part where you Dodge the buster rake from bass. There is no way someone can Dodge that unless they are using some kind of a bot or you're just slowing down your VBA speed. Also the fact that you select your chips within less a second supports that you might be slowing down your VBA speed when you play.
More than that; I used frame advancement. It's more effective than merely slowing down the speed. The aim of any TAS is to entertain, so I hope I was at least able to do that.

4 was smart enough to take away your evil powers when doing the ditto to prevent cheese like this from happening. Not smart enough to not copy the hp loss from using dark chips, so you could chew through the fight in seconds if you drop your HP a lot.

What's the difference between normal Soul unison's & chaos Soul unison
Chaos Soul lets you use that specific Dark Chip as your charge shot with careful timing.
Soul unison lasts 3 turn while Chaos Soul lasts only 1 turn.
And you have to time it correctly otherwise dark mega will spawn and start harassing you for about 13 seconds
