    Great video, man. My wife and I just took delivery of our brand new 2018 Montana 3560-RL with Legacy Package and full body Earthen Slate paint, on 03/09/2018. It is quite a bit longer and heavier than this unit, but my 2017 RAM 3500 SRW pulled it with ease. We went from southern California to Scottsdale, AZ for Spring training baseball for the full month. Montana is an excellent RV, but we have a 24 item punch list of initial repairs to be completed. Most are minor. Basement storage doors don't latch properly and the weather stripping is coming off. The gorgeous kitchen back splash fell off during driving. The rear window dual shades fell down onto the rear sofa during transit as well, as they are heavy and hung on very weak brackets. Living room TV's audio center glass door does not close nor stay up properly. One rear power theater recliner does not operate well at all as it sticks open and I have to climb out of it. I would have preferred manual recliners. However overall the RV is fantastic. We have had it back in to dealer for over 2 months waiting on manufacturer approval for repairs. This is a brand new unit, and it is taking too long for repairs which should have been correct from the factory. Be aware that these Legacy Package RVs are not built on the same assembly line as others, so they have inherent problems. Assembly line high volume units are perfect from the jump. The dual day / night roller shades are not on the 3 windows in the bedroom, so be aware. These rare Legacy Package RVs, while gorgeous, have problems. Do yourself a favor and purchase the extended warranty as we did.

    This guy is awesome! We hope to buy a Montana 3931 someday, or possibly a used DRV Houston if the price is right. We'd be willing to drive from California just to buy from this super knowledgeable salesman!

      They have actually stepped away from RV'ing for a bit after they each had to have some various medical needs addressed (everything is fine, no worries, everyone is healthy now). He still remarks about how nicely it towed vs. anything he had owned previously.
      I never try to flex my status as an S.O.B. with a PHd. Thats a "Son Of the Boss" whose "Parent Had a Dealership." I've always tried to earn my own respect here.
      Regardless of any extra associations at the end of the day he is the owner and I am but an employee of his business.

    Enjoy your videos Josh. Legacy Package Montana 3121 vs Pinnacle 32RTLS which is better?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both. Neither. Each have things that make them stand out. That's why we put separate videos together for them -- to highlight each one's standout points.
      I would mention I would give 100% of the nod to the 3120RL with the RV Fridge & 32RLTS with the same fridge over the residential models that are not made for RV use.
      Since this specific video was recorded a few updates have been made, so here's a few of the high points:
      * Montana 3120RL Legacy: Disc Brakes, iN*Command (which I generally feel is superior to OneControl)
      * Pinnacle 32RLTS: Wider Body, Control Leveling from your Phone (Which iN*command cannot)
      The variances in them are not great otherwise beyond cosmetic preferences.

    Wow very pretty RV but I am wondering how much propane does the generator use per hour of running?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually don't know propane rates, but gas generators will use roughly 1/2 a gallon every hour running at 85% load.

      Thank you it is a tough to decide which type of RV I will buy in the future but I think I know who I will buy from!! I love your videos the best you do a great job and very good detail I always love seeing the new RV's when they come out. I was surprise the demo didn't have the sani-con sewer system on it, it looks like a great idea.

    Great 5th wheel. I love it. My question is when you order in the generator does it include more LP capacity over the standard 60 pound tanks?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It does not increase the capacity, but they do build these with room for larger tanks if desired.

    I think I'd rather see the pantry door swing left towards the fridge. then it wouldn't be open in the middle of the floor. I'd like to see a full pocket door on the bathroom as well.

    Love your videos, man. Best in the biz. Keep up the great work! Quick question... What is new for the 2019 3120RL? Is it just the solar pre-installed option or are there more changes over the 2018 model?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Late 2018 and current "early 2019" are virtually identical. Only real change is the OPTION for solar as shown here.

    Josh, your walk throughs are some of the best I've seen!! Great Job!! I noticed the 20th Anniversary Edition has "Bourbon" and "Champagne" as color choices, and the upholstery on the couch/recliners looks more detailed (buttons, etc.). Did the mechanics of the chairs change at all (did they add massage/heat? or are they still just electric recliners?) Also, is the boss's unit for sale, yet, or is it sold already? I looked on your web page and didn't see it there, I would be interested in it, possibly! Thanks!! Laura

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The function of the power recliners has not changed. Big Montanas have been heat/massage since they first went power. Perhaps you saw a High Country without the extra fancy features found in the full Montana.
      Boss's unit found a home. We're happy to make you one just like it in the new updated 20th anniversary edition! We're actually working on adding to our existing fall order to bring one in that's similar.

    • @lauramalter1
      @lauramalter1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Again, when you're ready we'll just get you whatever you'd like within the MFG's allowances & may bring one in similar in the future.

    Awesome, but did they figure out and fix the slide motors? I personally know two people with that issue on their brand new Montana and had to replace the slide roofs.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! That was a supplier issue not specifically related to Montana. We saw challenges within Open Range's big fifth wheels that use the same slide system as Montana last year. For the better part of a year we haven't seen that issue raise it's ugly head (thankfully).

    • @rogerkern
      @rogerkern 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That be true a supplier issue. Just last I have heard was still an issue just not sure if corrected for 2019. But wow this might make it back on our list. Still the artic fox is top runner. But we will need four of those solar panels. Lol oh and lithium batteries...

  • @lasaints6502

    Very informative video! Thanks. Does the inverter power all outlets in the camper? I know there are still the inverter wattage and battery limitations, but I would like to know if I can use any outlet in the camper as long as I do not exceed the inverter max.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The inverter powers four specific outlet in the bedroom, kitchen, and living area

    • @lasaints6502
      @lasaints6502 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again. One other question. So if the inverter can run the fridge, does the inverter always have to be on? Even when connected to shore power?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lasaints6502 Good question! It does not. It has an on/off switch that's easy to access right on the inverter itself.

    Hello Mr. Nerd me again lol Ok could you explain to me the difference between the Keystone Alpines and the Montanas. I'm looking to purchase one for Full Time living and like the Apline 3700FL's raised living room and raised bedroom but originally wanted a Montana sooo now im offically confused.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slight differences. They're sisters, not clones. Generally speaking Montana is the king of Keystone. The other high profile fifth wheels basically ride along Montana's coat tails in a sense and do whatever Montana does most of the time with very, very few exceptions.
      That's not a knock against them. It means the "sister" brands are solid themselves.

  • @wbretz1
    @wbretz1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Whoa-that's a beauty! If you don't mind me asking, what's the difference in price between a standard Montana in this model and the one in this video?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no problems with anyone asking, but I actually don't know as it was never added to our price file since it was earmarked as the Boss's demo. However, a quick call to any of our sales team would allow them to have our sales manager determine what a model like this would run.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you prefer the greatest or the best?
      They're 97% the same and both do everything that really matters really well. It's a question of which 3% variance or decors that speak more loudly to you.

    • @missypowers8242
      @missypowers8242 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haylett RV Which has the better maintenance record? We were extremely impressed with the Eagles that were blown over in the wind and had hardly any damage! We were over here "jumping for Jayco"! HAHAHAHA

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@missypowers8242 Brands ebb and flow as things like factory volume and new employees factor in. I have always been very vocal about "I don't necessarily believe in the perfect camper."
      Eagle has generally been on the ball, and when they have encountered anything beyond surface level work Jayco's engineering team has always lept on the job to ensure future cases are not encountered again.
      Montana is *excellent* that way as well. With the volume Montana has they do an amazing job of putting together a solid product. The little variances like their CNC wall routing & full sidewall-to-roof corner moldings make the big difference over time.
