- In this video we go talk about the unbuilt history of Beastly Kingdom; a land that was included in the original plan for Disney's Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Due to budget constraints and time, Beastly Kingdom was postponed for later development. With the eventual plans for Pandora - The World of Avatar, Beastly Kingdom at Disney's Animal Kingdom sadly never came to be.
We go through the rides that were meant to be in this area, as well as what it inspired, such as Expedition Everest, Avatar Flight of Passage, Na'Vi River Journey, as well as Duelling Dragons over in Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando Resort and the entire Lost Continent area.

I would love to know more about the park Disney was planning on building in Virginia in the 90s.
You have to feel bad for the Imagineers. They were pushed to their breaking point, and decided to go to the competition
I would have loved to see beastly kingdom instead of Pandora but a better idea would have been to build the pride lands from the lion king that would be amazing
It's still is a shame that the dragon on the logo and gate will never be used for anything. Every culture around the world has a dragon-like creature (because bug reptiles both scare and inspire people and dinosaur bones can be found everywhere) so it really could tie together the idea of a world where conservation not only is possible, but even the mythical dragon could survive if humans have enough care and magic in our hearts.
If I were to create a consolation ride out of this, why not make a boat ride called, "the Cryptid Cruise/Caverns" or some other attraction full of big animatronic animals? You could include monsters from all around the world in it, including (of course) the dragon! For a cheaper attraction, you could just scatter the "monuments" around the park for families to find, where a cast member gives a special "passport" stamp to people (mostly kids with families to encourage them) at each one along with a writeup of each creature's lore. Families that locate all of the monuments would get access to a unicorn or dragon encounter and maybe some exclusive merch. I'd do something like that, and I'm in my 30s.
Get the kids thinking about different cultures and get some dragons in the park, ffs. Let's go!
Considering what we got out of it, I think we're lucky we didn't get it. We kind of got the best of both worlds.
I think if Pandora expires, perhaps Beastly Kingdom shall happen. I mean the concept about good legends against evil legends sound pretty underrated. I was also thinking of altering the name to Land of Legends. And since Islands of Adventure of a dragon themed roller coaster, I was thinking of turning Dragon Tower to something promising to be the E ticket of the park. Quest for the Unicorn can still be it's original state and of for Fantasia Gardens, perhaps an attraction where a griffin talks and interact with guests. As for the Pegasus which appeared in one of the ticket booths, mmm that'll be for later.
