I think the reception of WRE would have far outweighed the complaints during Magic Kingdom's early years, but evidently it was something they weren't willing to risk given POTC's demand and popularity.
Florida loves our pirates. Over in Tampa we have the annual Gasparilla parade which is basically Mardi Gras but with pirates. The idea that we wouldn't want pirates because it was "normal" around here was frankly silly. They should have made room for both in the first place.
I would prefer to have both... Like, when you only make enough to save up for one Disney trip, it kind of sucks that you have to pick and choose what you'll experience like that when it does happen. I love hunting the little remnants like this!! I always wondered what happened to the props from the discovery boats. Rip Aladar. Imagine if EPCOT had a peoplemover!? That would be awesome! I would have much rather seen the western river expedition than WDW’s pirates. It’s cool passing by the buffalo and thinking of what could have been.
At some point, I figure you'll either have the "Epcot Compendium of Future Past", a playlist of what Future World once was, or just a very large video about what you haven't covered already.
Honestly I think Epcot does truly have one of if not the most unfinished/unrealized attractions and projects of any other park. It's incredible just how much was planned, or partially built, but just never became a reality.
5:21 instead of, you know, being used in the actual attraction that bore its name. They could have added it to the end of the ride like the Indiana Jones ride with Indy and the boulder, and it would have matched up with the security footage of Avalar wandering around the facility on your way out.
I had no idea Beastly Kingdom was that close to actually being in the park. I thought all there ever was to show for it was the smoke effects and vaguely dragon shaped rock near the old Camp Minnie-Mickey. It's such a shame.
*clip plays* Me: Oh… Oh God, no, you’re not gonna- Fozzy: I feel very sorry that your best friend Jim died- Me: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!!?!? *bawls hysterically*
I have a terrible phobia of animatronics and my throat gets hot and I start sweating whenever I see one even in a video but for some reason I’m drawn to theses videos I love the channel
I wish all these all existed, it would've been so cool! I hope both Thunder Mountain and Phantom Manor are open when I go to Disneyland Paris next month. I haven't heard any updates of when PM is gonna open :(
Mokujo Have you ever been to Pandora? It’s beautiful and it’s an incredible land of the park. It’s amazing. Even though Beastly Kingdom didn’t happen, it doesn’t mean that Pandora is bad.
@@TheCaseClass I couldn't agree more. It's unfortunate that the park is associated with Avatar. I thought the movie was pretty mediocre - but the park is amazingly well developed and immersive. Honestly, the Disney park does more world-building than the actual movie. It's almost like Disney built an alien environment-themed pavillion that just happens to be populated with some of the characters from Avatar. That said I wish there was some way to have both Pandora and Beastly Kingdom.
I'm one of few people who thinks the movie is pretty good, although Titanic is better. But at the same time it's not all that popular anymore. Sure it was relevant when Bob Iger first announced it, but by the time it opened, very few people gave a shit about it anymore. And they fucked up the entire premise of Animal Kingdom at the same time.
@@armayafox1328 I'm not trying to dismiss your opinion - I'm genuinely curious - how does it ruin the premise of the Animal Kingdom? I agree that Avatar seems like kind of a strange choice - but at least the movie's message seems to fit with the Animal Kingdom's message of environmental conservation. While I really liked the idea of Beastly Kindom, I don't necessarily see it fitting in thematically any better than Pandora. I don't want to sound like a contrarian - I'm genuinely curious what your opinion is :)
They need to make that damn park. It's literally the most requested theme for a park ever. A KRAKEN ANIMATRONIC?? I would literally do the boat ride as a FIRST attraction.
Beastly Kingdom 5th park Beastly Kingdom (possibly Dominion) will be the 5th park in Disney World. Unless they decide to go with Dark Dominion (villain park). Sister parks have been discussed for all 4 parks with ramps and parking decks connecting the sets. The new parks would be similar opposites of the originals. Magic Kingdom (heroes) & Dark Dominion (villains) Epcot (futureworld/world showcase) & ? (pastworld/america showcase) Animal Kingdom (animals) & Beastly Dominion (fantasy animals) Surprisingly it would be Animal Kingdom who would get their sister park first. From what I've heard, Beastly Kingdom may not be completely dead. For the park and the Dragon section to be greenlit Dragon Empire and Onward have to do good at the box office. It would have a similar layout to its sister park Animal Kingdom. With a mix of real and fantasy animals throughout the property. The lands would consist of a central Dragon section (Discovery Island), an Egypt section (Africa), Australia (Asia), a Stars Wars snow planet (Dinoland) and Fantasia (Pandora). A dark volcanic mountain will be the main icon for Beastly Dominion. It will be reminiscent of the mountain in Disneysea, but vastly darker. Inside it would be a ride much like Disneysea’s Journey to the Center of the Earth, but with a different type of ride vehicle. The pyramid ride in “Egypt” meanwhile will be one of the other big time attractions in the park and will showcase mythical creatures. Like Sphynx's and other legendary creatures of Egyptian lore. The land will also feature real animals as well though like Camels, Cobras and other desert dwelling animals. “Roaring Rapids" is going to be the E-ticket for “Australia”. The main star of the attraction will be gigantic Crocodile, that attacks anyone who dears to travel on his river. “Fantasia” will have 2 main attractions. One of them being the Fantasia boat ride and the other one would be “Bald Mountain”, a rollercoaster/water ride based on one of the most famous scenes from the film. A little village and its inhabitants sit below the mountain unbeknownst to what lurks within it. Chernabog, the main antagonist is a large gargoyle-like demon who lives within the mountain. He eventually emerges from the peak of Bald Mountain where he is perched. From it he summons many dark creatures like demons, hags, and harpies that visitors will come across on their voyage through the caverns. The secondary unheadliner attractions in the “Fantasia” section are the already aforementioned ones from the early days of planning. The animatronic of the Unicorn in the cave (which is like the setting in Paris) and the adjacent maze. Also planned as well is the Lochness restaurant, which hopefully doesn't serve Lochness on the menu. The “Star Wars” section at Beastly Kingdom is rumored to be an ice planet. Possibly Hoth or a new one based on a planet from a future film or television show. The land may include Taun Tauns, a Wampa and other cold climate creatures. I don’t have the snack locations, but the restaurant listing would consist of the following. Dragon Section - Dragon Fire Pizza (Quick) Fantasia - Lochness Landing (Quick) Star Wars - Unnamed Star Wars (Table) Australia - Tucker’s Takeaway (Quick) Egypt - Cafe Cairo (Table) Disclaimer: Everything I just mentioned is not guaranteed to happen. For now at least it has just been discussed behind closed doors.
I like to imagine there is a Dusney storage warehouse somewhere with the Alien from Alien Encounter, the dead elephant and the dead knights in the same room...
Pretty sure they have put the Discovery boats back into circulation recently transporting guests back and forth from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom.
I always wanna know what happened when any division of Disney slums it. Because they’re capable of making such amazing things, and sometimes they just go “meh, I don’t wanna.”
I think I said before somewhere that I remember seeing the astronauts working on Satellites when I rode it in the 1986 to 1994 time span. I know I thought that they were maybe part of something that was coming in the future at that time. It's sad that they were taken away eventually.
These are the questions that keep me up at night...just the fact that somewhere out there (assuming it wasn't tossed out) there is a detailed 3 dimensional model of the entire Beastly Kingdom land along with its attractions
This is a fascinating look at what could have been. It always bums me out when I hear about this stuff. I know it's the grass is greener, but I'll say one thing: Whenever I hear about the original plans for EPCOT, I am bitter and depressed it'll never come to be.
Parents: "These melted knights are the only remotely interesting thing on this boat ride. We must complain & have them removed." If absolutely noting on the Beastly Kingdom materialized, what in god's name did they blow the entire budget on?"
It's so weird that remnants of dead animatronic lands exist in Disney Land/World. It sort of adds to the mystical vibe you get the first time you go to Disney World as a kid.I remember seeing the police (hover) car from Blade Runner sitting in an overgrown lot, behind a ride at MGM, and you could just walk up to it, and do whatever to it. Mickys extended family of mice probably lived inside it. I was amazed and kind of sad to see it like that, but at least I saw it! This was in the early 90s. Blade Runner was one of my favorites, a classic 80s scifi movie. That car should be in a museum, wired to the ceiling, so it could hover once again. Got off on a tangent. Anyway cool videos keep it up!
There's a issue with the SSE space scene that keeps being overlooked. I always wondered why they didn't refit the scene, until i built the structure in 3D. Getting props up there would be almost impossible without cutting everything up. You can't just open the roof. That's also a reason the scene was left black instead. There's no way to get big props up there unless you want to tear half the attraction down. And the other concern is the weight, anything that goes up there would need to be extremely light, that's the height where weight has most influence on the structure. But if you tear open the transitional tunnel, take 80m of track and the RVs out.. yeah technically you'd have a size margin of like 4-5 m. It's either that or open the top like a breakfast egg. But taking those RVs out?... will.not.happen.in reality. Only if the ride had a full overhaul (in like another 20 years bwha) And taking the top off would mean the structure needed additional supports and everything would have to be taken out, the Alucobond covers taken off and so on.. i think they'd choose to tear it down instead of doing something like that. Hence it's rather left black. (Still a lack of imagination, not to come up with anything useful for the space.)
How dare they not keep the unicorn! Unicorns are so magical and pretty! They messed up there! YES! Thank you the owner of Beastly the Unicorn! You didn't allow the unicorn to go to waste! You are a magical hero!
1995 was the last time I went to Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth, I wondered why they had hacked it all up and everything was so dark. You could see that there was stuff hanging in the air but it was all blacked out. It looked awful.
Everything that was removed from animal kingdom is the most tragic piece of all disney history I know the avatar thing is cool and all, but They need to revive their original idea
I remember when the rumors were going around about the Muppet restaurant, I was always so bummed it never came to me and was thrilled at the nods to it in PizzeRizzo and now I'm bummed it's seasonal. I'm excited for Galaxy's Edge but my bonus excitement is Studios will have the need to keep PizzeRizzo open ;) -- K
Maybe I just have a twisted sense of humor, but I think that the image of melting knight armor is one of the most metal things ever (no pun intended), and am disappointed that they got removed.
I've had bad luck with teachers. A lot of them didn't care about their subject matter, and expected me to believe every word that dropped out of their mouth simply because they were the one saying it. Then you have Mark, who explains things with obvious enthusiasm and gives sources for pretty much every fact and picture. This is the reason I know so many facts about theme parks I've never been to, but still struggle with American history despite living here my entire life...
On this theme park binge and I've been trying to remember what year I went to DW. It was either the end of '93 and they were about to start updating the epcot ball or it was the end of '94 and they were wrapping it up. Either way I missed the epcot ball and even though I was only in 3rd grade and had no idea what the ride even was, it bummed me out. The epcot ball IS the visual of epcot and I knew it was important to go in it. Damn you, Disney!
Imagine what the parks could have been if Walt was still alive, he would never have never let so many things be forgotten, and I believe he wouldn't have let so many attractions be canelled or changed in favor of marketing ploys like the dinosaur in beastly kingdom.
This videos are the second best thing for a Disney Park fan like me, the first would be going but I don't have the money yet, but someday I will and I'll spend half the time looking for easter eggs lol
I love the cheering smiley face of you in the beginning while you contemplate on how to make this video, it makes me laugh honestly 😂 But no seriously great video!
I come back and watch this video a lot and as someone that visited WDW for the first and potentially last time about a year ago, the amount of dragons in the decor of Animal Kingdom was very confusing with no further explanation or background.
I’ve always seen the moon landing stuff in Spaceship Earth but never questioned if it was supposed to be something. I just thought that it was pieces covering technology for the animatronics 😭
Them letting the dinosaur animatronic rot is an IRL representation of how much Disney wants people to forget that Dinosaur was ever a thing.
Old hidden stuff freaks me out more then animatronics designed to scare you.

I want more broken and decrepit and forgotten stuff! Whether unfinished or at the end of its life, i want creepy stuff that probably shouldn’t be there!!
The Thunder Mesa ride sounded like fun! I wish that it could've been built.
8:50 I would love to see them do something like this with a Ratatouille restaurant.
That very last bit really got to me. Makes me feel like we missed out on something awesome. I'm not sure why, but those buffalo animatronics have been some of my all-time favorites at Disney for going on 35+ years.
the thought of a light and dark side of beastly kingdom IS SO COOL !!!! i wish they went for it
Seeing the interactive exhibits in the communicores as a child in the mid 80s is one of my greatest memories ever.
Thanks for the great clip of Beastly The Unicorn in your video Yesterworld!. I have never found video footage of him in the park. Only the one still shot that's on his Facebook and Instagram pages. Id love to see the whole video! Owning Beastly is an honor. Its such a great piece of Disney history from a Land that was almost kind of built, but never will be. Great Vid!! Graydon
Hey Graydon!! First of all, thanks for adopting such an incredible piece of Unbuilt Disney History! If there'd ever be a way to view it in person, send me a private message or email! I am legitimately thrilled it went into the hands of someone who takes such great care of it. The full video is here, but it really is a "blink and you miss it" kinda thing...I'm just obsessed enough to have gone through that section frame-by-frame :)

Man... thank you for explaining why EPCOT is not as amazing as we all knew it should have been! Well all the parks. Even the muppets area of MGM. There were so many things that were supposed to be so much more 😭😭
I really hope that one day they create a version of Beastly Kingdom in Animal Kingdom...
“Tis but a flesh wound “
Love that movie
At some point, I figure you'll either have the "Epcot Compendium of Future Past", a playlist of what Future World once was, or just a very large video about what you haven't covered already.
Honestly I think Epcot does truly have one of if not the most unfinished/unrealized attractions and projects of any other park. It's incredible just how much was planned, or partially built, but just never became a reality.
@@YesterworldEntertainment I dream that this proposed renovation brings back the vision of Future World
Yamcha Kippur with the sponsors leaving no way disney can or at lest would do that
5:21 instead of, you know, being used in the actual attraction that bore its name. They could have added it to the end of the ride like the Indiana Jones ride with Indy and the boulder, and it would have matched up with the security footage of Avalar wandering around the facility on your way out.
Except there’s 2 sides of the exit so only one side would’ve seen aladar
I had no idea Beastly Kingdom was that close to actually being in the park. I thought all there ever was to show for it was the smoke effects and vaguely dragon shaped rock near the old Camp Minnie-Mickey. It's such a shame.
*clip plays*
Me: Oh… Oh God, no, you’re not gonna-
Fozzy: I feel very sorry that your best friend Jim died-
Me: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!!?!? *bawls hysterically*
Jim Henson Hour show that was on tv at the time. Had The Storyteller in the show at the end of each episode.
I haven't heard any updates of when PM is gonna open :(
Hey, at least we got a whole land based on a film nobody remembers or cares about instead of Beastly Kingdom! I love Bob Iger!
Not Bob’s fault this time. Eisner let the imagineers go, they went to Universal, yadayada
Very interesting stuff! Thanks for the hard work you put into your videos, Mark! 😃
Thanks for appreciating the work that goes into these episodes!
They need to make that damn park. It's literally the most requested theme for a park ever. A KRAKEN ANIMATRONIC?? I would literally do the boat ride as a FIRST attraction.
Your editing and humor are so on point!
The thumbnail makes so much more sense now!
I always wondered why the buffalo in The Land seemed so different! Thats so cool!
Beastly Kingdom 5th park
Beastly Kingdom (possibly Dominion) will be the 5th park in Disney World. Unless they decide to go with Dark Dominion (villain park).
Sister parks have been discussed for all 4 parks with ramps and parking decks connecting the sets. The new parks would be similar opposites of the originals.
Magic Kingdom (heroes) & Dark Dominion (villains)
Epcot (futureworld/world showcase) & ? (pastworld/america showcase)
Animal Kingdom (animals) & Beastly Dominion (fantasy animals)
Surprisingly it would be Animal Kingdom who would get their sister park first.
From it he summons many dark creatures like demons, hags, and harpies that
visitors will come across on their voyage through the caverns.
Dragon Section - Dragon Fire Pizza (Quick)
Fantasia - Lochness Landing (Quick)
Star Wars - Unnamed Star Wars (Table)
Australia - Tucker’s Takeaway (Quick)
Egypt - Cafe Cairo (Table)
Disclaimer: Everything I just mentioned is not guaranteed to happen.
Yup! Plan on addressing this in a future video as it didn't quite fit into the narrative here.
The Yesterworld Intro never get old
Honestly, great video that taught me theme park info even I hadn’t heard before! Loved it man
This was one of the most fascinating videos I've pretty much ever seen on TH-cam, outstanding work.
It's sad that they were taken away eventually.
seeing footage of old future world is so heartbreaking... i miss those those corridors
I think a video on Hong Kong’s tower of terror or the international ones would be cool
Hong Kong does not have a Tower of Terror nor was one ever planned. Think you mean Tokyo.
I wonder how much stuff they have at Imagineering HQ. Props, animatronics, illusions for unbuilt and unrealized attractions never put in the parks.
We must complain & have them removed."
If absolutely noting on the Beastly Kingdom materialized, what in god's name did they blow the entire budget on?"
I’m guessing it was all wasted on getting all the animals for the safari
How do you do your research? You mentioned that the unicorn is one of your favorite discoveries. This is just fascinating stuff!!
I'm guessing that unicorn was found by scouring TH-cam. I'm sure looking over Yesterland helps. As for how he found the unicorn's fate, got me.
The fact they left the aladaur dino animatronic to rot us so sad to me. I feel like I'm the only person who loves that movie and that character.
Love these kinda vids, thanks for always finding/showing us these 😁
You are very welcome :)
9:19 rections to someone died, either Jim Henson or Walt Disney.
9:22
I just rewatched most of your videos because they are so good. And I'll probably watch them a third time until you put out more.
0:12-0:42 I keep coming back to this opening bit, especially when Mark said “I forgot my pie chart.” And then the Hat Box Ghost changed the channel.
Only if the ride had a full overhaul (in like another 20 years bwha)
And taking the top off would mean the structure needed additional supports and everything would have to be taken out, the Alucobond covers taken off and so on.. i think they'd choose to tear it down instead of doing something like that.
Maybe I'm far off but one of the astronauts is still there. You have to search about for him but you can see him. I have every time.
1995 was the last time I went to Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth, I wondered why they had hacked it all up and everything was so dark. You could see that there was stuff hanging in the air but it was all blacked out. It looked awful.
I would have preferred a thunder mesa instead of more pirates.
I'm on board. It'll give me more to do that eat and ride at Disneyland when I get there
Everything that was removed from animal kingdom is the most tragic piece of all disney history
I know the avatar thing is cool and all, but They need to revive their original idea
SMRT-1 ! My dad worked for Sperry who sponsored that! We got the ability to go back-stage and see how it all operated when I was a child.
Damn you, Disney!
was legit just binging ur content and im so happy you made a new video good times out here
I think this was your best video yet! I love it👍👍👍
This is a great series to add onto all the other great videos.
Can you do a yesterworld on the sword in the stone show?
Id like to see a video on the Walt Disney studios backlot tour in Paris.
This video is gold
The knight gore is metal af
15:51 Pooh being a weirdo
He's trying his best XD
My homie Pooh Bear doing the Harlem shake before it was cool!
Imagine what the parks could have been if Walt was still alive, he would never have never let so many things be forgotten, and I believe he wouldn't have let so many attractions be canelled or changed in favor of marketing ploys like the dinosaur in beastly kingdom.
"These knights committed not alive"
This videos are the second best thing for a Disney Park fan like me, the first would be going but I don't have the money yet, but someday I will and I'll spend half the time looking for easter eggs lol
I love the cheering smiley face of you in the beginning while you contemplate on how to make this video, it makes me laugh honestly 😂
But no seriously great video!
I love Aladar so much, and to hear that was his fate is so depressing.
