Please don't stop. Please keep sharing. I have felt terrible for a very long time. EVERYTHING HURT. I felt like I was 150 yrs old (59). A few weeks ago I had a talk with myself and said something needs to change. YOU'RE NOT OLD!!!! I used to be a gym rat, body-builder. I know what it feels like to be strong, awake, fit! I started listening to my body in what it needed. I wanted eggs. I wanted meat. I wanted to not start my day with sugar in my coffee. Long story short, BECAUSE OF YOU, I cut out ALL SUGAR. Everything that is making me feel terrible, gone. I have been eating meat, veggies, salad, eggs. Researching recipes, how to eat in a new way. (I LOVE to cook. It feeds my soul.) I'm a couple weeks in and I feel FABULOUS!!! YOU lit a fire in me. YOU woke me up. YOU made me want to fight for ME AGAIN. I could say SO MUCH MORE, but I will close in saying, THANK YOU! I APPRECIATE YOU! I am forever in your debt. THANK YOU!

Thank you for sharing that. I used to start my day by getting to the gym at 5 a.m. and that routine was for at least 28 years. Everything was great until last year. I spent one month in ICU and then in and out of the hospital all year long. With that and COVID I have not been near a gym and miss it. I cannot get there yet but Lisa keeps me going. I had to learn how to walk again and still walk with a cane. My goal is to walk more, eat less crap (I am addicted to Lays potato chips) and get rid of this damn cane. I really do appreciate everyone who shares something - it really helps another person like me. So thank you to Joan and Lisa and everyone else who shares.

The most important thing is to know your own body. I’ve lived with bulimia for over 20 years and destroyed my metabolism and gut health.
My gut does not have the enzymes to break down animal or fish protein so I’m vegan now and it’s the best thing for me. I’ve not eaten sugar or white flour in years. I don’t eat dairy. Some say my diet is to restricted but believe me I eat more now than I have in my 50 years.
You look amazing and I so happy you found something that works for you.

Lisa I started my health journey a cpl months after you started. My friend started her journey after me. Each of our journey is so different! You eat carnivore, my friend does dirty keto, I eat clean with mostly vegetables, no dairy and no red meat. And guess what??? We are all seeing results, losing weight, feeling our best, and we are doing it all for the right reasons FOR OURSELVES!! Thank you for inspiring me to advocate my own personal health journey. For me personally there was alot of things I had to “un-learn”.

Amy, I am perimenopausal (several years in) and really struggling. One thing I am always confused on is we have to worry about hitting a specific calorie amount? Some days I just land around 1000 but I am not losing so...🤷‍♀ I plan on doing more IF with my eating window being earlier in the day as I have been hearing that is the best for women in my stage of life. Love your thoughts since you had such great success.

People more respectful of my choices when I say something like "oh I'm going to pass on the bread, it just doesn't agree with me!" or "that salad looks so good but I know it will upset my stomach." Getting granular like that helps me manage other people's opinions and my own! Rather than saying "I'm never going to eat bread again" I'll tell myself "not today." I think of it like a no spend period. Just because I'm not buying that handbag today doesn't mean I'll never have another new purse! It just means I'm holding off for now.

Lisa, today is my new day one. You have inspired me completely and boy did I need it. I had been carnivore for about a year but my why wasn’t big enough and I quit. I now am a year past that and all the initial conditions that I had healed/fixed are back with vengeance. I know my gut is messed up which is messing with my mind. I am listening to that book “mind- gut connection” this weekend and purposing to work hard while the battle to kill off the bacteria that craves sugar rages inside of me. I am excited and motivated in ways that I haven’t been over the last 12 months. I am eager to feel GOOD again!!!!!

I love how you're so humble about your stats. As far as cholesterol, the doctor wanted to put my husband on statins just because his was a little high. He came back home showing me the prescription. I told him, no, I didn't want him to do it. He actually got mad at me about it and said, "well why am I even going then?" I said to see what your stats were. To make a long story short, I showed him a YT video of a doctor saying you need to have high cholesterol sometimes and that statins were really bad for you. Thank God he listened and both of us have stayed med-free for 15 yrs.

I love how you share what works for you. I can’t imagine why anyone would say you’re doing it wrong. You’re the expert on you and we are all different. If you are interested in the evolution of food, the documentary Food, Inc. was sooooo interesting. It talks about how influential the food lobby is in pushing wheat and dairy on us (the famous milk posters when we were in school) and it touches on so many other issues. I think you’d enjoy it if you’ve never seen it.

Lisa, I started keto (inspired by you) almost four months ago, and have dropped drastic weight. (Nearly 40 lbs)...I wasn’t super chunky but just felt awful. (50 years old isn’t too far away) aches and pains, etc. People do judge and think it’s crazy, and can’t believe you don’t crave things. I was a carb addict, and I don’t miss them nor sugar, at all. I totally agree each one of us have to find our own way of eating for our bodies. Im 58 started strict keto now not as strict because I have found what works for me. I too have IBS and have struggled for years with it, tried so many things nothing worked until I cut out sugar and flour most vegetables I can still do some veg. Im at my healthiest when I just stay with protein. It will be a year in August that I started this journey. YOU look great keep doing you

What you say is so very true! Different ways work for each of us! Too many people rely on other people to tell them what and how to do things! Instead of just experiment with their own body’s!! And then when you give them suggestions they won’t try it because they are more scared of the change than they are to stay the same!
Change is hard work!! You have to accept that! And whatever you change will never work overnight you have to have patience and be consistent! I love your videos Thankyou for sharing your life with us! ❤❤

I've been doing keto for the last 8 years. Never felt better. Now, I eat one meal a day, and I'm not worried about having a 1/2 a sweet potato, 1/2 C of rice or so. I love my weight and don't want to lose anymore, so if I stay under 50 net carbs a day, I'm golden. I can do some veggies, but only if they're cooked. Salads and raw veggies hurt my stomach, as they do with you.
You look fabulous. You look healthy. You look happy. So you do you and that's terrific! I know some people are freaked out by eating this way, but everyone is different. Different ages, different times of life, etc., etc.
We've been taught to eat in a way that is unnatural for us with the tons of sugar, carbs, grains. Peasant food. What we NEED is quality proteins.
If you haven't already, check out Gary Taubes' videos. I started with him and there are a boatload of others who 'get it'. Be well and God bless.

People say that certain diets or foods are “bad” for you but ultimately, how you FEEL is all that matters. I liken your experience with carnivore to my boyfriend who does not drink alcohol. People can’t seem to wrap their heads around it, but it’s his choice and what makes him happy. He doesn’t care if I or others partake, but he never has and never will. Do what works for you!!

That whole "never have it again" feeling; I know that feeling well when I was quitting smoking. Different perspective to food but similar. Every body is different, so you'll never know until you change things up a bit and see how you feel. I so far feel great and am not wanting for anything. I feel good about it and confident I can continue…. Now what I really need is for the pounds to start coming off. That will be real motivation!!!!

Remember that old saying ,misery loves company? That’s what’s wrong with everybody. Of course that’s what you eat because you even said it makes you feel better. Why would you want to go back to being uncomfortable all the time. Good for you😊 it’s wonderful to share with others because you might touch someone’s life who is going through the same thing.

I am still learning not to cheat - I pay for it every single time!!! I regret it, just like you say! I need to get to the point where you are and know that the way I feel far OUTWEIGHS the moments of the cake on my lips! :)

I’ve had my eyes opened about how we’ve been tricked in other ways, as well, but that’s another story! Your health numbers are proof that you are on the right path, definitely. In California, we eat a lot of Carne Asada and also Carnitas-just wondering if those are popular meat choices in NC? Xoxo Melody 😘

I have an opposite eating menu than you because of health problems I'm a vegetarian, but I don't eat sugar or anything white, potatoes, bread, flour etc. I agree that once you feel the benefits to your body and are happy with your weight you feel so much better and the thought of eating things that you once ate and made you sick are no longer appetizing nor do I crave them. 🙂💚

I went that direction too Laura. Keto made everything worse. Vegetables are my friend, no more IBS or muscle aches. Like Lisa is doing, you have to do what works best for you. I see the excitement Lisa has with her life changing eating habits and I feel the same way with mine. We have to empower one another and be happy that we found what works for us. Yay for all of us!!

I understand what you’re saying. When you have IBS, and you find a way to stop the symptoms, you do it and love it!!! I have IBS, did the carnivore, and slowly added in other things. Luckily, doing the carnivore for awhile, I reset my body and I can eat most things in moderation. If I ever have symptoms again, carnivore will be my diet. IBS is a debilitating disease!! If you can be symptom free with a certain diet, you’ll do it!!!

I look forward to & actually crave my two apples with almond butter with my tea at the end of each day. I know what you mean when you say you don’t even crave those sugary sweets anymore. Your body will tell you what it wants if you just listen. If I eat something that’s a high carb I’ll feel awful & sluggish. It’s not rocket science. Love your channel 😁
I eat mainly meat too & feel great. I also fast until the afternoon each day. And I lift weights. I don’t feel weak & have a lot of energy. I completely understand why you follow this lifestyle. It works for me too & I can’t imagine eating any other way.

Hi Lisa! I love your videos! The thing that confuses people, besides years of conditioning, is that there is so much conflicting information. You can find articles, videos, podcasts supporting plant-based or carnivore and everything in between and all of them claim to have supporting data to prove their point. My reality is that I quickly realized I feel so much better on low-carb and that it is so much easier to keep a good weight as well. Some weeks, if my tummy is acting up, I will eat mainly meat like you. My point is that I will go with what works for me!! Keep making these videos Lisa, I love your open-minded approach to life ❤️
