    A lot of teams will have watched that match today and will be thinking, we better get fit and quick.

    • @pedrinho7

      @Ahmad Hosny It's not about City being fitter than Leeds, it's the energetic pressing that Bielsa demands usually yields higher possession (against Sheff U Leeds had 64% of the ball, but today only 52%) so pressing intensely when out of possession if you have the ball 2/3 of the time is a different matter to pressing intensely for half the game!

      @Sen484 the thing that separates champions from the rest of the league has always been the ability to play badly and still win.
      Especially when Chelsea were being tipped to close the gap & challenge Liverpool & City for the title this season - Liverpool could have an eight point gap over City by this time tomorrow.
      If Liverpool do get a win against Villa it won't matter how they played in the first 4 games, all that matters is they got maximum points from those games while the expected title challengers will have already fallen behind and been shown not to have addressed the weaknesses they had last season.

    • @M-E_123
      @M-E_123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Sen484 you've heard it so much because it's true.
      I'm not writing City off and never said they had defensive frailties (don't know where you even got that from, you must have dreamed it) - I just said Liverpool could be in a far better position than they ever expected after 4 games - and a 4-3 win over Leeds is actually looking like a great result rather than a sign of Liverpool dropping off, especially when City only managed a draw.
      Hanging onto "Liverpool lost games last season after the title was already won", or "Liverpool nearly dropped points to Leeds in their first game", or "wait until Liverpool get some injuries", or "we haven't had a proper pre-season, wait until Christmas", or "LiVARpool" or "the priority is the Champions League anyway" is common amongst City fans now, grasping at straws because they know Pep hasn't bought what he really needs.
      City's weakness since Kompany left is a lack of leadership to pull them through to still win games when they aren't at their best - 9 games lost last season but still had great goals for and against stats overall, that suggests it's not an ability issue, it's all down to mentality and not being able to grind out wins they don't really deserve - last season when City played badly they lost, Liverpool still found a way to win, and that's why they are Champions - that's another £1 for you.
      As for Chelsea, come back when they look like winning 15 games on the bounce, which is the standard needed to challenge for the title since the last few seasons - again nothing to do with defensive weaknesses and everything to do with having the right mentally - they don't look like they have what it takes to put a run like that together.

    • @sachinp2165
      @sachinp2165 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In sport, defense and offense are equally important. If you understand the sport, a strong defensive structure and display will be thoroughly entertaining to you. These 'parking the bus managers' are supremely successful annd they are immensely respected by those who understand the sport. Because they play to win, not to entertain- and that's how football should be played in their opinion.
      Football is not obligated to entertain anyone. Nobody plans or trains and strategise to ensure audience is entertained. Everyone plays and plans to win. If you find it entertaining, fine. If you don't watch Netflix.

    • @equalitypeace1695
      @equalitypeace1695 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      SachinP you must support a team who plays boring defensive football. People pay for expensive ticket to be entertained so the fact you think football is somehow nothing to do with with them entertainment is laughable. Teams who play defensive football are usually teams who don't have good players and come up from lower leagues and haven't got the funds to buy top quality players. If you are happy watching negative boring football that's up to you. But most supporters want to see their team performing and playing good football that's why it's called the beautiful game.

    • @sachinp2165
      @sachinp2165 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. You go for entertainment, not for football. That was my point. If you love the sport, you can see the beauty in different approaches being followed. I can't even imagine a world where everyone plays exactly the same style- that would be truly boring.
      I mean if a relatively weaker team can punch above their weight by using a specific strategy- that's fantastic, right?
      And on expensive tickets- my point remains that football doesn't owe you any entertainment. Game is what it is- its your call if you don't find the ticket cost worth it.

    • @equalitypeace1695
      @equalitypeace1695 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      SachinP fans who support their team want to see success and win things. How many of these clubs Liverpool , Man City Chelsea, Manchester United have won the league playing boring defensive football . The answer is none. Compare that to teams who played park the bus football I .E Stoke city and look what happened to them . Relegated . No where to be seen now. History tells us that teams that play attacking football are the teams that compete for things .

    • @sachinp2165
      @sachinp2165 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What about Mourinho's title tally? He won a lot with 'boring' football and in the process gave football world the expression "parking the bus" 😀.
      I am not against playing aggressive attacking football. My only point is both styles of play have their place in football. We can't say that everyone should play like this or like that. That's all.
      Anyways, You have fun watching Guardiola, Klopp. I will have fun watching these Guardiola, Klopp as well as Mourinho and Simeones of the world. 😁😁

    Guardiola, después del Barsa de Messi lo contrato el Bayern para que gane la champion, para lo cual le armaron un resto del mundo y no pudo, de ahí se fue al City donde esta hace una pila de años, donde también le armaron un equipazo y tampoco pudo. La conclusión es simple. Pep es y siempre sera un invento indirecto de Messi, y nada mas que eso. Bielsa por lo menos dejo su huella en el mediocre fútbol chileno potenciándolo, y ahora hizo ascender al Leeds sin estrellas a primera después de 16 años, y sigue bien encaminado.

So as a leeds fan im happy with the draw .i was thinking we would get. Hammered by city on the back of a heavy loss a couple of claims for handball that was touch and go and a bad tackle by dallas that could have been a red card lucky to get away with that one but overall a great ADVERTISEMENT for the Premier league.and the way both sides played a good result for leeds a bad result for city.

      In life there is never smooth road for you to walk on, there is going to be patches, holes, obesticals in your way.
      But you still carry on walking and embrace, hugs, forgive people you meet on the way.
      Forgiveness and love it's the only way to become victorious over hate.
      WE as Manchester City FC, we will forgive people who hates us. Forgive people who do you wrong, love the people who hate you, trust me you will sleep better at night.
      WE will be victorious again in the name of unconditional love.
      MCFC, Manchester 💙🔵

      Guardiola is not genius. He had inherited from Frank Rijkaard a Barcelona team of talented players of exceptional qualities (Iniesta, Messi, Xavi, Puyol, ...). Total football is a game principle introduced and introduced by Dutch coach Rinus Michels when he coached Ajax Amsterdam, the Dutch national team and FC Barcelona in the 1970s. game, the focus is on attack, balloon circulation and permutation of positions. Thus, the defenders, according to the match, find themselves in an attack situation, and the attackers in defense situation. Guardiola did not invent anything. He strives to reproduce the same game system with players with other profiles with a bias against some players (ETo'o, Yaya Toure, Mahrez, ...) and complacency for others. Guardiola's game philosophy with Manchester City is clear: it's the opposite of what football experts think of him. possession of the ball certainly but without yield that is to say useless except for the statistics of the end of the match. The proof he did not win a European title either with the Bayern of Munich or with manchester city, title for which these clubs recruited it. On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp is a phenomenon that deserves to be pondered. I believe we are only at the beginning of the end of an illusion called Guardi.
