Maurice, I just want you to know that you are NOT alone with living with a mental illness. I've had severe depression.anxiety and very severe panic attacks and phobias. Joshua is his mom’s twin. I love the relationship you have with him. Reminds me of my late husband who we lost to drug addiction and bipolar at 56. He and my son were very close but a strained relationship. Joshua is adorable and his girlfriend. Just beautiful. Thanks to you

Love Joshua on General Hospital he is doing an excellent job, there are so many young kids feeling the pressure of parents that we want them to do great and maybe their best is what should be looked at. At my grandsons high school its in an area of wealth and there have been 4 suicides in the last 2 years. Thank you Joshua for giving such an excellent job with this character hope you stay acting.

Amazing! Heck yeah we need a part 2 and we need Sydney solo too. Awesome musical talent, wow! I got chills. I completely agree there should be mental health curriculum in the schools, what a help that would be to countless numbers of children. If we can get the empathy and compassion ingrained into kids when they are young maybe just maybe we could put a dent into all of the bullying and drop those suicide numbers. We are losing too many good people.

The Adam storyline is so powerful-so many young folk are under immense pressure to excel, and in careers they aren’t suited for. The GH writers and Joshua are killing it. 💖

Yes, the children of famous actors might have the luxury of better opportunities and connections. However, it also makes logical sense that they have inherited raw talent from their parents and have the benefit of lifelong parental modelling from the best in the business. Genetics, early parental modelling, financial and social opportunities. Their parents might help them get their foot in the door, but whether they stay in the room is totally up to them. From what I’ve seen of Adam Bernard, he is here to stay!

I think love is wanting to be near the certain someone, feeling them breathe and sharing life's events as they come. Both support each other no matter what is going on. Life is not always sunshine, so being able to communicate as the hiccups happen is important.

A good actor is able to make you forget who he is as a person. You forget your feelings of who he/she is and just get involved in who they are in the moment. I hope I made sense. Love the genuine nature of Josh and his performance as Adam. I have seen him in other shows as well, bit parts here and there. He is talented and has a long future ahead of him. I hope he takes his time and doesn't rush the process.

Maurice, the fruits of the seeds you and Paula planted in Joshua are sprouting. He is slowly becoming a young man with a heart that is soft enough to absorb everything around him and keep what makes him great. He will be one to watch out for and not necessarily in the clout and fame sense. But in the great human being department. Pat yourselves on the shoulder for that. It takes loving and sacrifices as parents to instill that type of gentleness in a young man. I pray all his and Sydney’s dreams all come true and they find nothing but bliss with their love along the way. Too precious! And that song was dope ❤better every year! Can’t wait to see where life takes him in 2024. Now set your alarm Joshua for 8am and see what type of creativity you can get into.

I did not realize that this was your son and that he played Adam on General Hospital. I’ve been watching General Hospital 59 years or 60 years. I don’t think it was the first few episodes but shortly after that anyway, I would love to see these two back talking again I enjoyed it, and I’d love to watch them grow, great show. I just want you to know that I have watched General Hospital since day one it’s been on Maurice I love your role. as far as I’m concerned, so opera, actors and actresses are the hardest working people on television you guys do so much and such a short amount of time and put out such a good show and a good plot and great acting. I loved this episode with Joshua and Sydney. They are both so smart and talented and seem like such a cute couple. Joshua seems like he has matured quite a bit and he seems like an old soul, wise beyond his years. I love what he is doing as Adam and I'm looking forward to seeing his story play out. It is obvious to me that Maurice, you have done so much good personal work to heal your own demons so that you are able to help others and pass on this knowledge in a positive way. It’s so true…. There are things that should be taught in school that are so much more important than what they make us learn. Yes, we should know history, basic math, reading, etc. But do we really need to know chemistry and physics if we don’t want to? It should be a choice. But yes, they should definitely teach us how to survive in the real world and how to deal with life!!!

I had no idea you two were related until I ran across this vid. I think he has done a very good job of playing a student under pressure, the hair and makeup are spot on. Using your illness to spread awarness was a very good idea.

To me, love is a choice to be there for another person, to give them your heart even when it's hard. However, it's not good when it's so hard that you can't preserve your own happiness and well being. Always making me think Maurice!

Maurice: Your show is exceptional. It inspires so many, and I love every episode, but todays' episode with your son Joshua and his girlfriend Sidney was an amazing, awesome episode. I love you both on GH which I never ever miss and you as a dad are awesome. The relationship the two of you have is so apparent. He is multi-talented and I can see with such an influence as having you as a role model in acting makes this even better. His girlfriend is beautiful and he is a very handsome guy. They make a dynamic couple. I hope your show stays on for a very, very long time. If you can, do more with more of your family members on the show as it is great getting to know them and you more. Keep up the amazing work on GH. I love many characters, but Sonny is my very favorite and my reason for tuning in, along with Carly/Laura Wright who should still be with you. I dearly hope they bring you both together as a couple again. I don't care how many times you two reunite or remarry, you are THE COUPLE of GH!!! MY FAVORITES ALWAYS!
Ive actually suggested your channel to several people who have mental health issues and I thought seeing someone as big of an actor would help them feel less alone. Love seeing your son on GH hes really good

I’m watching this “ after the fact”. Maurice, this interview brought me to tears. Not because I pittyed ANYONE … but the rawness, the REALITY and the honesty. My heart breaks for all he went through and how it ended. You’re right, he was a warrior because mental illness is a fight for life everyday. MY prayer is that his children know how much he loved them. God bless his family and friends

So so true about what to teach in school! Compassion, mindfulness, meditation and recognizing mental health issues would be such a worthwhile course! And also life skills courses on managing money and banking and house expenses.

That’s ur son, he is so handsome… I love his character. Can’t wait to see where the writers take his struggles in Univ…so many kids struggle because they take on careers that they do not want to do.
I experienced this with a colleague that was taking courses in medical field cuz her dad was a doctor and that’s what her parents wanted her to be a doctor too. She ended committing suicide cuz she was so unhappy and could not speak to her parents that she did not want to go into medicine. That was 40 yrs ago and it still haunts me.
I love GH, I have watched this with my mom/aunt when I was little. I am mid 60’s now and cannot miss a episode. I wish we had GH 7days a week, hint hint.

When Joshua first came on GH, I didn't know he was Maurice's son, but when I found out, I kept forgetting because I'd feel for the character of Adam n having these nightmare parents.... he's that good. To me, when you see the character they're playing, over who they really are, those are the best actors. When you get lost in the storyline. Joshua seems well on his way to a great future in acting....although, the song by the end surprised me. Both him n his girlfriend have great voices. I enjoyed the song! 👍🏼 If he can dance too, look out world! 💜

I had no idea you’re father and son until a poster stated it. All I knew is that guy in the Joss and Trina scenes is such a natural. He doesn’t overact and it was so refreshing. Makes sense now. Runs in the genes. ❤👏

Giving/Receiving Love unconditionally, is real Love. You can love someone and no longer be able to live with them but it doesn’t take away that you love them unconditionally.

When you asked your son about love, the first thing that came to my mind was you and your beautiful wife. You have a great family and a beautiful, strong, story to tell. I have mental illness and watching you on screen and off, has really helped me. I just wanted you to know that. God bless you all.
This is probably my favorite episode because it is so hard to talk about emotional stuff, it is even harder when talking about it to family. You can feel the connection he has with his son and the love they have for each other.
I so agree that the schools should have mental health classes and teach kids how to deal with life in general. I have been seeing a therapist for over ten years and think everyone should have someone to talk to. Enjoy this state of mind. Yes Sonny Corinthos is the best what a blessing it is that you do this. I believe young people do need to be informed that Algebra is about problem solving and abstract thinking...numbers help with all sorts of things in life...so...it's fantastic to be in the arts (I am) and to make that gift to yourself and everyone else...but it's good to know things that underly creating and living in the practicality of life. As usual, you find a way to reveal a lot about "personhood" and more. Maurice, you are one of the best actors out there. Seeing you, here, being yourself and then seeing your work as Sonny...SO DIFFERENT and so clear that you are so deep as an actor...you cover all the bases...the father, the "businessman" the spouse...the friend...and Sonny is different in all those roles. KUDDOS to you for so many years of excellence. (and yes, I know it wasn't easy.)
