താളങ്ങൾക്ക് വേണ്ടി മാത്രമായൊരു ഗ്രാമം , അതാണ് പെരുവനം ഗ്രാമം. ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം അവരാഘോഷിച്ചത്1439 -താമത് വർഷത്തെ
പൂരമാണ് . താളോൽത്സവത്തിൻറെ 1439 വർഷങ്ങൾ എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് ലോക ചരിത്രത്തിൽ തന്നെ ചില്ലറയായിട്ടുള്ളകാര്യമല്ല. ലോകത്തിൽ ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തും ഇത്തരം ഒരു സംസ്‌കൃതി നിലനിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല. ഒറ്റരാവിൽ ആയിരത്തോളം കലാകാരന്മാർ കൊട്ടിയിറങ്ങുന്നു. അവരെ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കിയിട്ടുള്ള അവരുടെ ഗുരുക്കൾ, അത് വിടാതെ കൊണ്ടുനടക്കുന്ന കലാകാരന്മാർ, അവരെ അതിനു പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുന്നചരിത്രം, അതിനെ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുന്ന ഗ്രാമം,അതിന് അവരെ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുന്ന മിത്തുകൾ എല്ലാം കൂടിച്ചേർന്നതാണ് പെരുവനം പൂരം എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. ആ പൂരത്തിൻറെ അമരക്കാരനായി ഈ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ മേളത്തിന്റെ ഗുരുത്വം കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്ന പെരുവനം കുട്ടൻ മാരാർ എന്നുപറയുന്ന അഭൂതപൂർവ്വമായിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യ ജന്മം, അതാണ് പെരുവനം കുട്ടൻ മാരാർ. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കലയും ജീവിതവും അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തി മെനഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ നേർ രേഖയാണ് പ്രണതി എന്ന ഡോക്യൂമെന്ററി. പ്രണതിയിലൂടെ ഒരു കാലം രേഖപെടുന്നു, പ്രണതിയിലൂടെ ഒരു സംസ്കാരം രേഖപെടുന്നു, പ്രണതിയിലൂടെ ഒരു ആചാര്യ സംസ്‌കൃതി രേഖപെടുന്നു, പ്രണതിയിലൂടെ ഒരു ചരിത്രം രേഖപ്പെടുന്നു, പ്രണതിയിലൂടെ ഒരു ഐതീഹ്യം (myth) രേഖപ്പെടുന്നു, പ്രണതിയിലൂടെ താളത്തിന്റെ ഒരു നേർ രേഖ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു. ഇതാണ് പ്രണതി.
Padma Shri Peruvanam Kuttan Marar features in prominent temple festivals of Kerala including Thrissur Pooram, Peruvanam pooram, Kollam Pooram and those at Guruvayur Temple. He leads the famous Ilanjithara Melam of Thrissur Pooram. Kuttan Marar started performing at the Ilanjithara Melam from 1977 and has been its Pramani since 1999.
