Came here for the string tip on getting a bulkhead connector into the bottom of an IBC. Thanks. Those hose clips are trash, ear hose crimp clamps are far better.
Well I wouldn't say trash but you are correct the ear hose are better, and we use them occasionally on certain situations, but I prefer the ones I use for easier removal when needed.
@@PressureCleaningSch Yep, certainly easier to adjust/remove. And OK for low pressure applications. Just working on a project right now. I need a barbed connector in a high pressure system that will not need to be disassembled. I might prototype with jubilee clips first.
If I remember correctly it was 1.25 same as 1&1/4" hole saw. I haven't used bulkheads at tops of tanks in a couple years. I use uni seal now and its the same hole saw size.
If your batch mixing, and/ or having to fill your tank w the lid open then I’d recommend it. That just increases the chance of getting trash in there. Since we don’t match we’re have to have our lid open to fill the tank I don’t see the need for having a filter. I feel they block the flow
What size bulkhead fitting should I use for a 5.5 gpm belt drive pressure washer to make sure I’m getting the correct amount of water to my pressure washer. Should I use a 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch ?
Love your informative videos Doug!! I do have a question, if you don't mind. You said use a 90 or a straight fitting, why not use a 45 instead of the 90? My thinking is that it would improve flow
Hey Doug I have a 2 inch suction hose that runs from my buffer tank to my pump inlet .I noticed today that on one of the hose barbs there is a small drip is that normal?
@@PressureCleaningSch I took your advice and I used 2 clamps and now it is bone dry. I noticed two of the bulkhead fittings and both of my chemical tanks have small leaks I was told to use silicone grease? Is this true?
Hi Mr. Doug Rucker, I have a few questions on this tube bulkhead setup system. 1. Can I use the inside tube setup for the pressure washer bypass? This way the water doesn't splash inside the tank or create bubbles. 2. Is it best to keep both bypass and Hudson float on the opposite side where the water comes out on the bottom?
@@PressureCleaningSch The 16 is a Whisper Wash that I’ve had about two years now. I Ran it with a Home Depot Dewalt 3.5 gpm. The pump just went bad on it last week. @@PressureCleaningSch Should I put 1503’s, 2503’s, or 4003’s ? I’ll probably order all 3 just wondering your opinion if it’ll work on the 16 inch with my 5.5. May upgrade to a 20 inch.
I have a hand pump but when the chem factory pumps me off they put it into a 15 gal carboy. I like to rig it for an easy dump into a 5 gallon bucket for when I pretreat concrete. I use an xjet for that so it’s a stronger mix. The hand pump is a pain. I’d like to put a hose to a bulkhead so I can just pour out what I need. Hose to PVC ball valve
Hey Doug great video. For the SH downstream drop stick should I be using a 1/2 bulkhead with 1/4 barb? Or if it better to use a 1/4 bulkhead altogether?
God be with you always in Jesus Christ name! Much love for all you do Doug! I hope to see you in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ!
Thanks Doug.
God bless you Doug, great videos!!! Thank you from Canada
Thank you Jorge. Appreciate it.

@@PressureCleaningSch I should have qualified my comment; cheap Chinese worm drive hose clamps are trash.
RectorSeal No. 7 is good but its for metal only not plastic. I've been using Tru-Blu...
We switched to Tru Blu as well shortly after this video.
Hey Doug, with the 1/2 inch barb what size hole saw did you use? Was it a 1/2 inch hole saw, in trying to bypass my pressure washer back to my tank?
If I remember correctly it was 1.25 same as 1&1/4" hole saw. I haven't used bulkheads at tops of tanks in a couple years. I use uni seal now and its the same hole saw size.

If I have a 3/4 fitting for my pressure washer tank what size should I use for cutting into the tank?
Take the fitting and compare it to the hole saw.

3/4 or 1”. But you’ll need a barb to match the inlet on the pressure washer
What size pvc pipe is that?
3/4 if I remember correctly

You certainly could use a 45. Just don't wan the hose bending down or kinking is all.

1) yes you can do that 2) yes that’s how I do it. Less chance of creating turbulence at the outlet

How well does a 16 inch run on a 5.5 2500 psi gp gx390 pump? Thinking of upgrading to a 20 inch.
Should work fine just might need to change the nozzles to a bigger size. Is the 16 inch new or you had it awhile?

Doug. Would you suggest using a bulkhead on the bottom of an SH tank to dump sh into a 5-gallon bucket? If so, any particular kind or way to install ?
No I would not. The SH will eventually eat through the gasket causing a leak
Ok… what do I use?

Bulkhead use 1/2 inch. Then use a Poly 90 street elbow MPTxFPT then a brass 1/2 threaded X 1/4 barb into the 90.
Awesome video Doug. Question what is your take on installing a bulk head vs just using drop stick by opening the lid of the tank with a 12v pump?
I don’t like drop sticks and opening lids due to the off gassing causing rusting issues equipment and truck/trailer.
