Mystery solved! We got a reply from Alonso of Twitter. He says, "@ChessbaseIndia Artemiev played the same and the good one is e6 d5, but it's quite boring, so I played the same risky way with e5. :P."
Both the players made super rapid moves and instantly pressed the clock button after their moves, right from the start. Maybe this was the reason why he chuckled.
Question: What is the FIDE policy/rule on laughing? Anybody know? His laughter was barely audible and seemed rather friendly so I guess that's okay...but where does one draw the line?
The opponent can call an orbiter if he considers that the opponent distracts him from thought. No complaints - no conflicts and no need to draw a line.
He's a nut...he was trying to be intimidating. He figured if Anand could spend 2 minutes thinking of a move in blitz, then he could as well. Doesnt work like that. Not against experience like Vlad

@ChessBase India ; can you share Kramnik vs Firouzja Blitz match?
thanks for your hard work...
Probably because Artemiev played the same move against Alonso 2 rounds earlier...
We have a winner ;)
Everyone listen- He laughed earlier because he knew Big Vlad will have the last laugh.☺️
😂
Kramnik: "I'm playing this tournament to have fun."
Also Kramnik: gets 3rd place and gains 50 Elo
His height actually garnered him 2nd place. cdn.chess24.com/xUGZ3cDDSGmzYgeTcTg_kQ/original/naka-magnus-vlad-me.jpg
"aháá, Mate threat in 52 moves"
K a 7: f 'a 8 = ( . F x kp c ' 7 /+)
lol
- krammik w/white played e/d/c4
- krammik: white is winning here, black is lost
6:44 is a beauty
I would watch the game but the headshake duel is far more interesting. Kramnik's technique is excellent and Alonso favours activity.
Its the Kramnik variation- played against you know who!
I donno who...pls do tell...
Wasek Salam he who shall not be named 🤫

Dark lord will return
He came, he played and he won.. I just love this man.. ❤️ you Vladimir Sir..
0:10 you are here
0:13 why do i hear boss music?
Because Vladimir has always a winning position, even after a dubious move like 5.e3 ?
1.e4, e5. 2. ke2!
krammik: black is lost here, no counterplay, white with easy stroll to victory
Firmar el papelito después de un blitz es una regla absurda.
Both the players made super rapid moves and instantly pressed the clock button after their moves, right from the start. Maybe this was the reason why he chuckled.
No, It's because he played the kramnik variation against kramnik himself
I guess, because Kramnik plays what he will play later
Why the hand move after move 23?

@@Xmel-chel Thank you!
Self pinning is rarely a good idea
Why laughter?because
I also dont know,tell me
Maybe he know e5 d6 c5 systems
And it's very Symetrical
He want go for botvinnik system
He had the very same position against someone - which I can’t for the life of me remember who it was - literally 2 rounds earlier.
Hjortsater I think it was Artemiev
Owen Sutherland, sounds just about right :)

bishop move only one but deadly
Maybe some vicious lady is wandering under the tables and it is his turn ?
Beautiful chess.
Wow nice game
Why the cry after queen takes rook?
Because the other rook is pinned by the bishop and it can't capture back the queen. Basically, he simply lost the rook with no compensation.
He saw a cow flying
Kramnik very funny guy...
No idea
black just got ruined the way seriously he even blundered his queen . vladimir felt sad to capture queen for free.
Dont get it!
Rossel resign himself to eventually blundering from the beginning of the game.
Как будто бульдозером переехали оппонента...
He laughed because both white and black had played the same moves, a mirror image
Where is the laugh?
If black don't play e5 it's drawish
Isnt he allowed to laugh?
Chess player is not allowed to laugh on the opponent's move
