I met Chris Robinson when they played at a small club in syracuse, ny just before they became really big, he was so nice at the end of the show I was waiting for my sister and he came over to me and we talked, he liked the necklace I had on! He was very down to earth! It was a killer show!
I went there many times. My friend's band, called "Jarryd" played there a few times in 1987. The big deal was when Mark Knophfler came to see them. He played tennis with the lead singer.
@americanhotdog everything that he said is 100 percent historically accurate and true as far as the band/situation is concerned and the fact that it was specifically produced for MTV News itself. He's probably telling the truth.
What an energy and quality and performance of the song. Saw them on May 22, 2024 in Amsterdam. Still the same quality and energy. Respect!!! In hindsight the BC where 'build to last'
Johnny Colt is really rock 'n' roll!!!
I’m reading Steve’s book now. Figured I’d take a break and revisit their early days which is where I’m at in the book. Phenomenal read so far.

I produced this for MTV News. It was a "showcase"...invitation only show at a small club (The Cat Club) in Greenwich VIllage.

The PA system there left alot to be desired but we loved it back then. We were just happy to rock out to the bands.

Rare Jeff Cease.better than Ford. That end lead is great
Funny!
Rich has said that Jeff never played a lead that he (Rich) didn’t teach him.
Toally agree... cease was a rocker... ford was a bore
@@marvelharris9540 not at all! I will say that Cease was a great fit for the overall sound of money maker, but he’s no Marc Ford!!!
