I just bought a 1996 last week. First bike. Runs fine but I've been learning about it by fixing turn signals and trying to figure out a ratting noise at high revs (I think it's caused by the aftermarket tank vibrating against the frame). Anyway, I appreciated this video.
I'd like to see an updated video on this. How did you fix the front breaks? I just bout one that's been sitting since 2017 and the front breaks don't work either.
Yeah, so the piston in the master cylinder was seized. Tried to remove the piston and replace internals but kept getting wrong parts sent out. Ended up just replacing the whole master cylinder and it's good as new. 🤙
Happy to hear I wasn't missing something. Needing to pull the intake tube back through the airbox to remove the carburetor is in interesting design, it took a bit of working but we got there.
Thanks! All I adjusted was the idle speed knob. Could have been a combination of that and the bowl not completely filled with gas yet? Unsure really, I will explore if there is a mixture issue once I get new tires and it running down the road. Thanks for watching!

@AndrewWhite33 Hell yeah dude, thank you for sharing! I'll be following along on your Rebel videos. 🤙
When will there be something about the BMW F650gs rebuild?
Oh man, maybe a month or two. I'm so far behind on projects, plus the filming and editing.

You weren't wrong about the carb throttle bracket needing to be taken off first. The carbs on 250 rebel will never not be a pain in the butt.

What was the reason it bogged down when you gave it throttle at 15:20? You made some sort of adjustments? Fun video by the way :)

I just did this on a 86 250 rebel. Loads of fun and very simple to work on.
Absolutely! Great beginner bikes in both riding and mechanical aspects.
OK that was awesome
Keep going, good work🎉
Thanks!!
