Hey, I just wanted to let you know the switch on the tail light should not be flipped! If you watch your sequential turn signal the tail light on the trunk bit blinks instead of a sequential animation. If you flip the switch back to the way it was the animation will flow better between the two pieces.
Thank you so much for this! My next install is going to be the tail lights just like these b/c one of my reverse lights is out & I've had my eye on these for a while. Its hard to believe a reverse light is out at a little over 60k miles in my 2019 FK7 (I had a lot of hwy miles for a while there).
Ultimate Motorsports is a terrible company, it’s been so difficult to return a product that they falsely advertise to fit. Don’t believe the return policy they advertise, they ignore emails repeatedly, when they finally answer they require a bunch of pictures just to email a return label and even after acknowledging they got everything (which wasn’t quick) and will send the label, shocker no label sent! It’s been another week and they still haven’t emailed me anything at all and won’t respond back.
Your install was great but water was leaking in mine , there is a gromit at the top where the rear washer goes and the wires can pop through there with no wires going into the plastic trim and no leaks
Thanks for the video it helped me install the first generation of these lights, took me about an hour and half to install, most of it took an hour. Nice idea hiding the wire under the weather strip, makes it look way cleaner. I wanted to recommend velcro zipties to help tie up and keep the wires down in certain spots under the piece we take off from under the hatch to get to the hatch light. The velcro zip ties really help with wire/cable management in general.
Hey Chris, awesome tail lights!! I have pretty much the same thing. You mentioned in your video about blacking out your reflectors in the back. Buy new ones that blink and brake when you do. It completes the back end. You won't be disappointed

are the taillights visible during sunny days? i have aftermarket on mine but current taillights are barely visible during sunny days, i don't wanna get rear ended lol
Do you have any water leak issue when you go through touchless car wash? I did the same routing of the wire, it leaks, I did it in the corner, it leaks also.
I just got the v1 smoked for my boost blue then I got the led smoked lights where the red reflectors are that’s what u should do looks mint and matches the tail light perfectly
Hey Chris, I installed the tail lights the same way but I had some water leak issue when going through a car wash. Water got into the car. Did you have any issues like that?
@@chris_timefk8 Hey, the tails lights them self are fine. Its water coming through the center of the trunk. I believe its due to the weather strip. I can get it to seal perfectly like before. I am planning on getting it professional installed without having to run it through the weather strip but before I do that any recommendations? This is the first car mod I did on my own. I don’t know too much are car’s

Looks way better!! I have the Hi-Rev v1 smoked, best purchase I've made for my FK7, besides exhaust, but thats a given LOL.

You can get lights that'll replace your rear reflector. They even have animations
