I cant believe the amount of work it took to make that possiable, great train and great layout. What guage is that, ? O GUAGE? i noticed a double rail track, not three like lionel.
Terrific layout! Lots of planning and very nicely executed. I love it. Does the loco sound ever run in something less that notch 8 (or whatever the top speed is)?
The sound card on your locomotive only plays as if the train was moving at full speed - even as it is very slowly pulling into your house at the end. I have a set of those LGB locomotives. The pitch normally varies up and down depending on speed.

I was always warned not to put tunnels not to put tunnels because if wildlife living in them and such, but you have many and long ones. How do you keep the critters out of your tunnels? Hi and thanks for the comment. Running the trains every once in a while keeps them out. When I close up the railroad for the winter or a long period of time, I place sand bags in front of the openings. What show are you talking about in Reno?

OK where in the world did you get that electric roll up door? I love your RR I just started building my new Railroad and my property is similar in alot of ways ,side of a hill with great view.
When the new items of LGB/Märklin will appear, You have the chance to complete the beautiful train with baggage car (#36579) and dining car (#36578). I know they are expensive but without these cars something is missing. I hope LGB will produce enough of these 2 cars, that all the proprietors of the first edition can complete their trains. The layout is nice but 5% grade is in my opinion defintively too much to run long american trains to come closer to the prototype. But it´s everyone taste and can not be discussed. Wish You much fun with Your RR furthermore and stay healthy. Joachim .
There are 3 divisions to the Railroad. This is the Tahoe Junction Division that does run a 5% to 6% grade. It is loosely modeled after the Bernina Pass from Italy to Switzerland, witch is also about this same grade. I am usually running Swiss trains, but for fun, I tested the Santa Fe on this new division, to see how it would handle the grades. I did order the new Sante Fe Locomotives and cars and they just arrived! Thank you for your comment!

Continuous concrete curbing is used for the roadbed.

That rarely happens. I have a long pole with a hook that i can pull them out.
