If you know a bit of history of Mexico you would know, that Mexico is pretty much a neutral country almost all of its history. Mexico never started a war against another nation, all wars Mexico had with foreign nations was because those nations attacked or declared war first. The only time Mexico joined a war was WW2 against the axis, supporting the war against Japan in the pacific (and it only joined because of German U-Boats sinking mexican ships in the Gulf Of Mexico). But after that, Mexico stayed neutral, even in the Cold War, despite being under US influence, Mexico never did a single move in the Cold War. Never joined the Korean and Vietnam wars, had diplomatic relationships with USSR, China, Yugoslavia and the Warsaw pact countries as well as Cuba etc. And that neutrality keeps on until today, not aligning with any side in the Ukranian war, maintaining diplomatic relationships with both Russia and Ukraine, not supporting any side. That's pretty much the exterior politics of Mexico, neutrality and having good relationships with every country in this world. So, having Russia in this parade is nothing strange to see.

If you know a bit of history of Mexico you would know, that Mexico is pretty much a neutral country almost all of its history. Mexico never started a war against another nation, all wars Mexico had with foreign nations was because those nations attacked or declared war first. The only time Mexico joined a war was WW2 against the axis, supporting the war against Japan in the pacific (and it only joined because of German U-Boats sinking mexican ships in the Gulf Of Mexico). But after that, Mexico stayed neutral, even in the Cold War, despite being under US influence, Mexico never did a single move in the Cold War. Never joined the Korean and Vietnam wars, had diplomatic relationships with USSR, China, Yugoslavia and the Warsaw pact countries as well as Cuba etc. And that neutrality keeps on until today, not aligning with any side in the Ukranian war, maintaining diplomatic relationships with both Russia and Ukraine, not supporting any side. That's pretty much the exterior politics of Mexico, neutrality and having good relationships with every country in this world. So, having Russia in this parade is nothing strange to see.
