In this video, I take the RBD Fractured cube from the previous tutorial and we'll start creating constraints right away. I'll use different ways of creating the same constraints and go over how to manually create the constraints from scratch. We'll create the poly lines and add in the missing attribute data to the poly lines to complete the constraints and make it ready for use for the RBD SOP nodes. Then I'll go over the Soft Constraints and show you how to have some real fun!

You're very welcome! This video was very fun to make! I had a lot of fun at the last example with the Soft Constraints and the fractured cube.

As a programmer, you explained the tutorial very well. 😯
    1. Possible multiple solutions for the same problem and encouraged users to consider low-level and high-level approaches.
    2. Modular and systematic explanations.
    3. Data visualization. (Constraint/name attribute)

Thanks for the comment! Do you mean I should give a quiz near the end? I have thought about that, like creating some exercise files and workshop project files for members to try out and accelerate the learning process. But I'm not sure if anyone would actually do them, lol. I wanted to brainstorm a theme to inspire the project files and maybe it would have a higher chance of drawing more interest, but I'm not sure what I can do.
Thanks for the suggestion though! It's a nice idea.

No, not quiz. Those bullet points is what I see in your tutorial.
Houdini destruction is for specific user, if they want to know more, they will do trial and error.
So I think quiz is not that efficient. @@bubblepins

Great content!, a tutorial on disintegration with smoke and fire will be great, also rendering with mantra.

I actually did a disintegration video before, but it was based on booleans and not particles. I feel like a remake for a more updated video would be appropriate, I'll add it to the list. I have been thinking of starting another particles mini-series because I"m getting a lot of ideas for particles lately. So disintegration would be perfect for that!

@@bubblepins Very Cool!, the RBD Material Fracture will be the best option under Houdini v19.5, A logo "letters" disintegration with smoke, particles and fire, thanks for your support and awesome help!.

@@dreamforgemediaec You actually just reminded me of an old project I did that I can make a RBD tutorial video about. It's not exactly disintegration, but its very similar. By using custom forces to control RBD pieces and blew away fractured font text, similar to disintegration, but not quite. But I think it would make great for combo for disintegration. Thanks for the idea!

@@bubblepins To make it look cinematic I think the addition of particles, smoke and fire are key elements, do you use Mantra, Arnold or RedShift?.

    • @bubblepins
      @bubblepins  ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@dreamforgemediaec Sadly I don't, I use to use Redshift, but the license got a little pricy for me. I now use Blender Cycles to render most of my animation. But there are a lot of downsides to this. Like Particles exporting from Houdini into Blender is a pain and super heavy, because you have to instance the particles as raw geometry instead of actual particles. The HOudini particles isn't compatible with Blender, because Blender has its own particle system. I am looking at some Karma / Blender CYcles options and maybe with some AOV's or image masking I can mix the shots together through post processing. Just a thought, I haven't tried it yet.

Sorry for the late reply, I don't know how I missed this comment. You need to join the TH-cam Perk Membership. The link actually takes you to my TH-cam page that contains a Join button for my TH-cam channel Perk membership. Hope that helps! I really wish the TH-cam Membership program was more popular or it may need a UI redesign, because I get this question a lot! Anyways I hope you'll find it and find my project files helpful!

bit of confusing but its good

    • @bubblepins

It does involve a lot of parameters, I have thought about a better way of presenting the RBD workflow, but I think the best way is to go over it once through and rinse and repeat.
