Great job with the travel items. If you want to save money on the toothpaste tablets, you can squeeze dots of your regular toothpaste on wax paper and let them air dry. Pry them loose and put in a small snack size zip lock bag.

I travel with a prescription pill bottle filled with small necessities: threaded needle, paper clips, safety pins, small butterfly clips, etc. I wrap duck tape and scotch tape around the outside of the bottle. Lifesaver. I have fixed tears in luggage and even the heel of a shoe with the duck tape. You can also wind paracord around it for a makeshift clothesline. 👍

My first thought for that bowl is a valet tray. My husband and I each have one and it helps keep all the little things together, and easy to pack up.

Yes! I love that travel idea for the snap bowl. That is such a small, but very helpful thing when traveling. If you come in the room and have a place to put a few things it keeps you organized! Thanks for commenting.

I¨ve used some of those on my travels ... Soap , laundry detergent , Tide pen , the tape wrapped card ( but I also put painters tape, the carabiners, power strip to charge everything in one place a collapsible tupper , a dark grey jersey towel (doubles as pashmina, airplane blanket, beach towel , pareo or to cover my head when needed in some places)
And I have some other too :A slim casewith bamboo cutlery, Downy Wrinkle Releaser ( a life saver) , a silicone "ziplock bag" and a small flat purse with 2 or 3 wet wipes of deodorant, makeup removers, clorox and wash cloths. Also a small poo pourri spray ( you never know when you might need it)
On the security side ... as I mostly travel solo , I carry 2 small contact alarms( got my door opened once when I was sleeping ) I put painters tape on the surfaces so I don´t damage them and I stick the alarms over the tape. When I check Out is easy to remove it

The reason/advantage for the braided clothesline is you don't need clothespins - just tuck a bit of fabric from the item between the braids to hold the clothing. This allows you to fit more on the line at once, and keeps items from falling off.

The bowl could also be a catchall. I made something similar using a placemat that lays flat in suitcase or even my backpack and I snap the sides up and use it to hold jewelry, glasses, even the room keys to make it easier to make sure those little items are not overlooked or forgotten

    • @JustBookedIt

Love that Idea for folding bowl. It is so nice to have a catch all tray or cup when you are traveling for key cards and phones when you walk into the room. Interesting. I travel with a Few flat bandanas. One that is colorful I lay out on a flat surface when we enter a hotel room and that is the designated spot for all those catch alls. If you take it out of your pocket and set it on a surface, it goes on the colorful bandana.

    • @kw1lts

10 inch *reusable* Zip (cable) Ties.
Quick zip through loops of items inside(!) a rucksack, or through zips, or in the airport if you have a second bag sitting on you roller that keeps sliding off, or through the items you want to pull from your bag as you sit down on the Plane, or if you need an item of clothing secured, or you need an emergency belt (5 or 6 in a chain) or if you want a group of things kept together (Through the X-Ray at customs?) or an extra loop around a hotel lock or security chain.
You can undo them with 1 hand but it's enough to confuse the bad people.
I tuck them individually through the webbing on my rucksack. Easy to reach.

Yes, I also watch a lot of packing videos, and this is a great collection and I loved your straightforward, waste no time presentation. I travel a lot and actually take many equivalent items to these (silicone bowl, lacrosse ball, extension cord, etc) I had not heard of the no-rinse soap. I'm ordering it. I also always take some good quality lexan (best plastic) cutlery set-fork, spoon and, especially, knife and always end up needing them. I got it in the camping section. My sister was just on a plane where they gave wooden cutlery and no one could cut the chicken. Subscribing!

These are great, and I already have most of them. As for the little laundry sheets, it's much more economical to get the full size sheets and cut them up into the size you'd need for a sink wash. I just put them in a little bag. I cut some into an even smaller size to use for washing my hands when there isn't soap available. I wouldn't want to use the hand-washing ones on a regular basis because I'd be concerned about drying out my skin, but for emergency use, it's a very economical way to go and takes up no room if you put them in a little tiny bag. They're small enough to keep in your pocket that way.

Great ideas!!! I'm getting the bowl and the compression bag! If it works well, I'll recommend to my parents as a dirty clothes bag.
I have tiny rolls of duct tape in my purse and people think I'm crazy. That is until the blue light is blinding at night or the heavy charger won't stay in the outlet. Or when you're brother's tire flap hits something and it's making an awful noise because it's broken now. Or when you need to pet that dog but now you're covered in hair. I'm not sure if there's anything more useful

We keep a laundry kit with a tiny container of detergent and a sink plug in the bag and it has a version of a braided elastic line... it's fantastic. Used it almost every trip. Pack less, and find undies, tshirts and socks that are quick dry (merino goods are fantastic). Not $10 but I use them travelling AND at home. Wash in the sink... hang.. and merino dries overnight. Also dry quickly on the body if it rains or you are in a bind?

      @JustBookedIt  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Pro travel tip! Wow. I am working a video all about laundry on the go when you are traveling. I think it is underrated for most people. Sounds like you are a great system though. Love the idea of packing less and use merino goods. Thanks for the awesome comment! ✈️

    • @NathanRodger
      @NathanRodger หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@JustBookedIt The system works for me. Other tips? A good pair of shoes to be able to walk in all day, every day (I use Salomons and Merrells... going to look at Keens as I have wider feet).. paired with great comfortable socks..
Not sponsored (sadly) but I love my Icebreaker tshirts, and had Icebreaker boxers for years... the merino mix they use for t-shirts and undies is soft and durable (not scratchy like other brands).
Whilst Icebreaker socks are great, my favourite socks are Darntough (Vermont) merino socks.
We travelled all over the world, at least twice a year... I'm a director and photographer and need to be presentable in both my appearance, but also my 'scent'. Something as simple as a plain, clean black tshirt offers the confidence you aren't smelling like you've travelled for 3wks without washing. Merino also keeps you cool in the heat, wicks sweat, and keeps you warm in the cold. It's great for layering so it's fantastic (sometimes a bit of a pain on planes as synthetic seat fabric plus wool tshirt can mean static... small price to pay)
I used to OVERPACK, and after almost splitting suit cases early on - I researched and picked up lots of tips over the years, OneBag.com was a BIG influence early on. The laundry kit, and bundle packing was the top one to reduce my packing stress.
David Hobby (Strobist) also has a great tip of packing a very large and THICK plastic bag... so you can do laundry in down time and simulate a washing machine. It's not one I've done yet - but it fits.

We wash our clothes in the shower, while we are having, or just about to have, a shower. . Just use the free soap the hotel provides. Squeeze the laundry dry and fling it in the sink while you continue with your shower. When you come out the shower take it to dry.( over the balcony rail if you have one, pinch it at on one side with a clip , like you have on your note book if you don't have a peg so it doesn't fall down)

I also use it instead of packing bandaids, especially for when the kiddos want to swim in the pool…it does NOT come off until you pull it off. I simply rip off a bit of the tape & put a little bit of gauze under it. For gauze… I always travel with those tiny “compressed towels tablets” (they’re about the size of an American penny but expand quite big when they get a little damp)….so I use them as gauze under the tape as a bandage.
The compressed towels are also great for so many things when I travel (napkin for the kids, face cloth, tissue 🤧, Toilet paper if needed…😉, to wipe down a table/seat, wash dirty dishes while travelling, etc.) & they’re so tiny. And they can be reused multiple times, just rinse & dry….but of course not if you’ve used them as toilet paper! 😜

Appreciate you noticing. Very excited about the new subs.
Love the idea of tape for blisters. Great travel tip there. I can imagine that coming in handy. Yes, I always travel with a few of the compressed towel tabs. I should have put those in the QHBI section. I have never used them for toilet paper, but that is a helpful tip 😁!
Thank you so much for watching and spreading your travel knowledge.

I would substitute (or add) to the power strip, a step-down voltage transformer adapter. Not every place has the same voltage output of the USA. Depending on where you're going to, you would need a 220v to 110v power adapter to be able to use that power strip with your devices. My friend found out the hard way when she fried her laptop by forgetting that and DIRECTLY plugged in her 110v unit into a 220v outlet: instant death of the machine - thankfully, her data was recoverable.

These are some great items, i would argue against the no rinse laundry detergent...you are already in a strange place when travelling which has your immune system on alert even if you arent sick, you dont need anything lingering behind on your skin causing rash. If you use these chances are it rinses pretty easily because it probably doesnt have a lot of sudsing agents. So take a second to rinse it and get those chemicals out of your fabric. Also arguing against the soap papers for handwashing. If your hands are dirty you have to rummage around with the container with dirty germy hands. If your hands are wet then you ruin all the soap papers to get one out.
Alternative to both is a 2oz bottle of dr bronners soap. There are a bunch of scents of dr b but they have unscented too. I would recommend tea tree one because it is antibacterial. Good for scalp, feet, body odors, face, first aid, body wash, baby wash. And can wash your clothes with it. Make some travel wipes with it for hotel and airplane suefaces. Paper towels soaked in mild soapy water and zipper bag it. Liquid is best for various uses (dilite for what you need) but solid bar soap is god for travel and is not going to spill. Most bar soaps are 4 oz and can be cut down for size.

For the Clothes Line idea, i ALWAYS take Some kind of rope line with me, along with a couple carabiners. I had HEART surgery a couple weeks ago, and I used it in the belt loops, to pull up my Pants when i was Finally Able to wear some.
I Also always pack a couple "NITE IZE GEAR TIES", (like hard core twistable bread bag ties), about 9 bucks for a Two Pack of 20 inch ones. I have a "SOCK AID", and Those helped me, so I wouldn't have to bend over to get dressed. I could keep my arms close to my sides, and not to reach so far.
And Neither of those were even for an Elaborate Travel execursion, that was just to a Local Hospital!
I also had Some tape with me, just in case - I didn't use it, but I did consider it a Couple times.
Thanks for those tips though. I appreciate it.😊

I would recommend some 6"x6"(ish) ziplock freezer bags if you're going to the beach.
I've been watching some of the Metal detection channels finding phones, watches, rings, etc on the beach AND in the water.
1 bag over a phone and other valuables, push the air out and seal. then repeat with another bag.
You then have a CHANCE of the phone surviving if it ends up under water, and a much better chance of one of the detectorists finding a big target

I don’t know where you are traveling to be needing detergent, clothes rope and a plastic foldable bowl.😅 Most airbnbs already have those (especially in Europe) and who on earth eats bread with olive oil from a plastic bowl in a park in Croatia? They have amazing restaurants with outdoors seating, you should give that a try!

Amazing to have that as a snack as we sat in the old walled city as a family. Thanks for the comment and suggestions. Appreciate it!
