You left out something very major on the Cheers package that can make it very well worth it even if you don’t drink more than 7 drinks a day. You are not just getting alcohol, you are getting unlimited non alcohol like soda, bottled water, Gatorade, energy drinks, ALL Java blue coffee and specialty coffee and milkshakes. To a lot of people this factor makes a very big difference!

Bubbles package was a convenience that we paid for with no regrets. We also carried on 12 packs and pre-ordered what we could to the room. We go on a cruise every 3 to 4 years and splurge a little where it improves our experience. The spa and excursions have generally been way overpriced and wasteful in our experience.

If you are Platinum, you get 2L of water per cruise

I was watching right up until the point where you said you can’t or shouldn’t drink the water from your cabin faucet. Most cruise ship water is desalinated sea water. The process usually involves steam evaporation -- essentially turning saltwater into distilled water. That water is then mineralized for flavor and chlorinated for extra safety. Other ships are fitted with a reverse-osmosis system for filtering and/or desalination. It’s cleaner than most municipal water supplies. Please reconsider this comment. Bottled water is just adding plastic to our oceans.

I'd rather pay then lugging a 12 pack of soda on board. I'm too lazy. On Royal Caribbean buying the soda package is must. They have the Coca-Cola freestyle. The greatest invention in human history.

Those are nice machines! We still carried it in, but the freestyle is great!

Regarding excursions, you have to remember that if you go with an independent tour operator, the ship is not going to wait for you if you're running late.

Please don't spread misinformation. The water on board is completely safe to drink. Even from the tap in the bathroom. Look it up it's right on carnivals website that it's all potable water.
Also unless you like grabbing a soda everytime you head out to eat lunch or go to dinner, the bubbles package is super convenient and after the first night they usually have your soda ready and waiting for you at the table. Also the fruit juices are amazing.

My family and I liked Cucina del Capitano. My parents really liked the Minestrone soup. My sisters liked the meatballs, and my dad and I liked the lemon dessert. I liked the various breakfast offerings at the buffet on the Mardi Gras last month.

Remember though, that if one books an excursion through Carnival, and youre late getting back,Carnival will wait. If a third party excursion is late, you just got left!! That insurance is can certainly be worth the cost

We loved our inside Havana room on the Panorama. There were always chairs outside & no kids in the area. Plus we rarely left the 5th floor that cruise except for dinner.

I've only been on three Carnival cruises, but I was quite impressed with how good the staff is with kids and I don't mean the staff specifically for kids. I was so impressed that when I filled out post-cruise surveys, I gave glowing reviews for that. I don't even have kids.

Thanks for the info and video. I have noticed if you are doing a private excursion and you have to tinder you don't get priority to get off ship .I missed an excursions because of the rookie move and 1 other thing I would like to mention is not all travel agent have access to the same cabins the large travel agency's get the better cabins .If I'm looking for a certain cabin on a cruise ship I look around and book with who has the cabin I want .I believe 3 months before departure the Cruise company has access to all cabins that are left and you can book with them but before that you have to look around .Thanks again for your videos Gaylene

You were talking about people bringing bottled water onto the cruise. I thought you could only bring cans on board, not bottles.

To avoid any noise issues, we always book our balcony on a deck that is between 2 other cabin decks. Noise Carry’s ..meaning anywhere on the deck below the Lido deck (usually deck 8 on the older ships) can very possibly have a noise problem. There is a hollow area between each deck which allows a chair scraping the floor, a cart being rolled or any other noise which allows sounds to carry for much longer distances than one may think. Unless you really want loud to hear music, singing, etc., past midnight, do not book a cabin close to the Atrium open areas on the decks above the main deck where these noises originate.

Is the filtered water in the buffet ok to drink?

    • @michellecampbell1115

I've been on four cruises. All different lines. And I always drink the filtered water in the buffet. I just bring a metal water bottle with me and fill it up. I've never had any problems. And the water tastes fine.

New subscriber here. Appreciate your content. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the Italian restaurant Cucina del capitano. I personally found it to be lacking and I was wondering if it was just that one experience. I'm also wondering about the difference between the lunch experience on guys pig and anchor and the paid dinner experience. We went for lunch and I thought it was very average. But I'm wondering if the paid dinner was better. We're going on the Mardi Gras next year so just trying to get your opinion.

My husband and I booked a Terrazzo Interior room back in February for this summer. I would have loved to splurge for the Terrazzo Balcony, but we just couldn’t afford it. I liked the idea of having a less populated area of the ship to be able to escape to though since I’m pretty introverted, so we’ll see if that ends up being a waste of money! If so, lesson learned!

If my memory serves me right, I believe Carnival has a sign in the cabin bathrooms telling passengers not to drink the tap water.

Question: Carnival's site says, "A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought onboard on embarkation day and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces (ca 350 ml) each or less per person." Are you saying they don't enforce the policy exactly, and you can bring soda onboard from each port, not just the embarkation port? Thanks!

    • @GroundedLifeCruises
      @GroundedLifeCruises  ปีที่แล้ว +1

We've brought it on at every port we've stopped at. Usually around 5 bottles or cans. They never care.
