Yes! I heard so many people complaining about it not feeling/looking like a new ship. It was very nice and clean, but not a brand new ship
Why would they upcharge for gelato? I would never imagine that would require an upcharge. What other foods are an upcharge, I assumed everything was included except certain upscale restaurants? If you can please go over what's included and not included for the base fare.

Who cares if it was brand new or not..I was there 3 weeks ago and the ship is AWESOME!
Some people care. I don’t. I enjoyed the ship. But I heard lots of comments about the ship not being brand new. Some people didn’t realize it was acquired from Costa. New to Carnival, not brand spanking new. Just wanted to clarify for those who didn’t realize that.
It was so sparkling clean to me. I thought it was new, but who cares is right. It had a new feel and I had a BLAST!!
I enjoyed this video. I really like how you incorporated Dice's viewpoint. At times I know I want to her how I will enjoy the ship, which I know is important. However, it is great to hear from a teen's perspective, since my son is 13 and his entire purpose of cruising is the food and club. 🙀Thanks for this.
I’m trying to encourage the kids to share more! But obviously he just wants to eat, play basketball, and go to the teens club lol

One thing about Tomodoro, the breakfast.... and an FYI, you can get your eggs for huevos rancheros ready made. You don't have to wait for the buffet line omelet station for fresh made eggs... and the toppings station for breakfast at Tomodoro was great! I really didn't care for buffet breakfast but when I wasn't going to Grand Canal for breakfast, I went to Tomodoro... and the staff was always friendly. Love love love!

Out of all the videos I've seen, this one was the best to me. Thank you so much for sharing. My husband and I are booked on this ship for May. We booked a Terrazza aft balcony to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday, which are both in June. We're very excited.

Your review was completely honest and accurate. My wife and I were on the maiden cruise from Barcelona to NYC and your positive and negative comments about the ship were spot on. The worst problem we had was the open seating dining room with extremely long waits, the app crashing and some undercooked meals. But we agree that we would sail again on the Venezia and in fact are for May 11 Day Caribbean sailing. Subbed!

I was just on this ship. Love it. The retractrable roof was perfect during a stormy 2 days at sea. Had it not for that roof the lido deck would have been unusable during those rainy days at sea

Thanks for your detailed review. I cruised on the Venezia last September and there was the Love and Marriage show. Very Funny! You're spot on with the columns in the Teatro Rosso. Lots of blind spots esp if you sit in the upper tiers. Had the same problem with the children and teens hogging the pools and Jacuzzis but thank goodness for the Serenity Deck. For those who haven't sailed on this ship, perhaps some pics or short videos would help your narration, Great job though. I'm sailing again this summer and hope to enjoy another cruise on the Venezia. Going to subscribe because I want to learn of your experience on the upcoming Mediterranean cruise. Great experience having your teen boy share his views. I wish more parents would allow their children to give their POV such as his. I've read blogs where folks speak disparagingly of the Venezia which was not my experience. Very good that you gave the positives and negatives. God Bless.
This was a good review. I really appreciate you pointing out some of the downsides because vacations are expensive and it would be disappointing. It's such a pretty ship so it's a shame the beds and pools aren't better. I liked hearing your son's perspective! That made your video so unique. It's great to hear the young person's views.
Our embarkation was a mess!!!! We had reservations but were told we had to line up. Almost 2 hours later, we were in the ship. Some of our friends just walked right in which sucked. The pools were very small and deep for smaller kids. 4ft 9in on the shallow side is not great for a kid that's 4'5". My niece did enjoy the slides though. But the little splash pad was too little for 7yo and the pool too deep for her without supervision. The Camp for the kids was great. On sea days, my niece actually requested to go to camp. Also night owls, she LOVED. She didn't want to leave. Also,Theresa's a Love and Marriage show on our sailing!
Yes I’ve been hearing that embarkation has been terrible lately. Hopefully they get that figured out!! Glad to hear that had Love and Marriage on your sailing. It’s something we always look forward to.
They have the smart elevators on Carnival Horizon. I love them.

I haven't been on the Carnival Venecia but I have sailed on Carnival Horizon and they have the same type of elevator which I really enjoy using but like you mentioned there were people that do not know how to use them and there were times when I just decided to use the stairs there's a section on the pad that's designated for people that are in scooters or wheelchairs it even has a very distinctive sound when pushed my sister uses a scooter and whenever I or her daughter pushed the designated button for scooters whenever it was pressed there would be several people rushing to that particular elevator I don't understand why several people make things so simple seem so hard

Awesome review! I’m going next month (April) for my birthday on a 11 day Caribbean Cruise. I’m surprise to hear about no bar in the casino 😮 I booked on a Casino deal with all you can drink while in the casino. I will order way in advance lol😂! Thanks for the review

There are nearby bars but none in the Casino. There were waiters taking orders tho.
We were on same sailing as your family. Agree with your review. Heard they are still overcrowding the sailings and still short staffed. Lines were long and heard that’s still an issue. We did go to the casino and were able to get drinks but we went when it wasn’t too busy. Maybe that’s why.
Hopefully they get more staff onboard. The crew onboard works so hard and it’s so bad for them when they are short staffed. Glad to hear you were able to get drinks!!!

Totally agree with your Venezia capacity assessment. The ship seemed a bit cramped even in areas where overcrowding wasn't obvious. I hope we can get a replacement for the Venezia out of NYC.
I believe the Venezia will be sailing out of Port Canaveral FL, some parts of 2025 so they most likely will bring a different ship to NY.

Thank you for your amazing insights.. usually on Carnival, the last bar to close is casino bar... if there is no casino bar, can you recall what the last bar is to close? We like to get cold bottled water to take back the room, and we do get the drink package 😅😂
I honestly don’t know. I think the latest one may have been the Terrazza bar/lounge. I recall it being open around 11pm one night. Rococo’s closes pretty early on the lido.

I sailed July 27th. The ship is Beautiful but it just did not give me the carnval feel. They should of definitely had the comedy show at a different location, it was crowded every night as you stated. The food was definitely a hit or miss with me. The hallways were very hot as well. I wasn’t a fan of the Lido, I agree the shaded areas were a hit, but I miss the open space. My sailing actually had the Love and Marriage show. My favorite spot was the Serenity. The sail away on my sailing was mid ship, but the top was closed and it was very very hot. The weather was good so I felt it should of been opened. I’m not sure if I’ll sail again. We waited very long in the MDR I feel they were understaffed.
Yes I heard about there being AC issues. I never experienced that. Great to hear they had Love & Marriage for your sailing- I definitely missed it! I can only imagine how hot it was with the roof closed! Sounds like your experience was similar, yet so different than ours! Hopefully some of these issues get resolved in upcoming sailings. This is hands-down the best and most honest review. I have become an instant fan of yours. Completely agree that (1) there is nothing Italian about the ship of the experience on-board. The ship is beautiful but simply installing an Italian portrait here and there does not make it Italian. (2) the food onboard the Venezia is just tolerable at best. Please stay away from the horrible buffet at all cost. Keeping taste and options aside they do not even serve the food in a presentable manner...worse that a run-down cheap chinese buffet. The MDR needs a lot of work. The additions to the Guy's Burger joint are simply disappointing, (3) The size to capacity ratio as you rightfully pointed are miserable. They have cramped 5200 people in a ship that should only hold no more than 3500, (4) The pools are almost non-existent. Literally 10 people NY size in the pool and it is full., (5) Lines are endless everywhere due to Carnival's cheap stunt of packing thousands of people in a small space, (5) Entertainment is mediocre at best. I like the comedy shows on Carnival but the mile long lines are a complete turn off. It is just not worth to stand for one hour or even 30 minutes for a 30-min comedy show.(6) The smart elevators and great and the future of elevators in office spaces, residential buildings and cruise ships. People just need to get used to these to avoid over crowding, longer waits and chaos with people pressing buttons for every floor etc.
I like Carnival as well so please speak up. Some staff are not as good as others. Please call this out so Carnival can continue to maintain and enhance their crew quality and service. Their lying president Christine Duffy and waste of space John Heald need to step down or get fired. Until these old school unethical people are part of management nothing will change with Carnival.

Just returned from July 5-13 cruise venezia out of nyc.. overall fair..excessively crowded, and when i say crowded, i mean we walked around for over an hour on sea days looking for three chairs together. Mostly felt like part of a herd walking around- waiting in lines only to be turned away (aka comedy shows, food lines) Never even got to enjoy pool/ hot tub because of the amount of kids - which we have kids too but none even wanted to try and get in!! We used the HOT showers to cool off food was terrible all around (aside for the specialty restaurants $$$ but yummy and thankful for options) and do not cater to gluten. although when we booked they assured us they serve gluten sensitive menu. Some things were nice ( art, most staff) but negative definitely outweighed the good l. We are family size 7.. total bill 16k only bought 4 excursions and ate at restaurants twice. For reference ive sailed 4 other times never for 8 days. Im planning on sending in formal complaint but im waiting 24 hrs to meditate 🧘♀️
Oh wow. Sorry to hear about your experience. Hopefully they were able to resolve it for you. Your sailing sounds like it was way more crowded than the inaugural sailing.

I’m sure we could have. But I don’t usually ask for refunds unless the food wasn’t edible. It was edible- just not good. I wouldn’t book it again for sure.

I think Guy's Burgers is overrated.

I ate a lot of guys burgers on the carnival miracle. Definitely not top tier but I thought it was pretty good, especially if the line was short
I Sail in October; I really hope they fix the capacity issue because I’m very impatient 🥲
Hopefully they do but I think at this point a lot of the sailing are already mostly booked or sold out 😞
Am going next year am not a fan of Carnival but am going to try They to crowded.
