⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Phase II R32 3350-3351 Operational and on the Move!

- Here we see the Phase II R32 3350-3351 being transferred through the system. This pair of cars is preserved by the NY Transit Museum, and is seen in this video to be fully operational! These cars are equipped with the New York Air Brake (NYAB) "Newtran" brake system, rather than the WABCO brake system used on the Phase I R32s. As a result, these cars make somewhat different sounds when the brakes are released. Enjoy!

Always great to see the MTA preserving history
The MTA or New York City Transit? Because I can’t find any old 60 foot long MTA Long Island RR passenger coaches they used before the M1’s came on the seen.
@@silverskyscraper1179 I've never made the distinction.
60 years old and still rolling on the rails😊😊
Those break noises 🥹
I sure love em… Still can’t believe it’s been 2 years now since the last ride… Which I got to be on… That was so much fun…
DAMN IT I MISS THESE TRAINS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!
Good ole R32’s 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Looking good in spite of age
60 years old and still nook brand new!

@@roberttapken1139 that’s because it’s been maintained for so many years.
Y'know what they say, Budd don't break!
I love the r32 on the c line am glad they a set being saved
My favorite R32 Phase II on the (E)/(F) from my childhood. I wish all R68's has the R32 Phase II air brake release.
SSB would be crazy seeing this, especially since the footage was taken along the N line.
Godly R32
Okay these summit cars are being preserved. I don't know where they're going to be stored but I know they're not being scrapped they are of course A lot of them being scrapped. But all these cars with the 3000s are being preserved it says it on about 1500 other videos on TH-cam it's very sad that hammer here did not post that because the fact that they're not being scrapped but apparently they're saving all these cars and there's some weird topics about them being wooden. I don't know if they are not. But I do know the fact that they said they're preserving all these cars so I'm glad they're saving a lot more of the r32s. But I kind of still miss the r40 slants
bring it back
it looks clean and ready to go
They are using them for museum trains, which still carry passengers here and there, but for regular passenger service, we have new cars fresh from the factory entering service.
@@NBaBall3r26 those trains can’t run any regular service anymore. If they did bring it back would be for a line that doesn’t run much like the Z line. Since it only runs rush hours only.
I got video of them at Pacific Street right before you got them in the video. Was nice to hear the break release sounds too.
Those R32 have similar features of the Redbirds nice video 👍
Beautiful trains, I never appreciated the r32s when I rode on them to go to school.
Beautiful
The old days rare good job MTA
The mark 1s are retiring here hopefully you come to see them soon when they fully retire from the mark 5s
Happy Anniversary R32s!
MTA should have some companies make a slightly modern version, keep all the basic components of it, but have it more modern
@@crazymangaming9679 that would cost more money since those trains are from the 60s they weren’t designed to have NTT equipment.
@@TransitFans PATCO did it.
@@kevinwong6588 yeah but the cars coming in now are ready for CBTC, and you’re much better buying new cars for that reason.
Full 10 car train preserved 🥳
Future holiday train maybe, but it kinda lacks the colors like the R1s and the train of many colors
Also a full 10 car R42 train too.
Those brake noises are homage to the past
Dj speeding to the next station to catch unusual trains
Haven't seen 3352-53 in some time. 3350-51 will need new side signs. 36th St. was where I boarded the very first subway train I ever rode on back in July 1965 - a shiny new R-32 N.
@@8avexp I’ve been told 3352-3353 will need a lot of work, but that pair did appear in another video on this channel before. Meanwhile 3350-3351 received signs in time for today’s run.
Miss them!
The R32 trains almost sound like the Redbirds.
The cheese grater
R32, R.I.P, 1964-2022
I saw 3350 & 3351 on the r32 fantrip today and they had no ac’s
That sucks
Driving it home with one headlight.
I wonder if we can see the other Phase II pair (3352-3353) down the line, but seeing a Phase II R32 for the upcoming trip will be big!
They and the modified R40s (4480-4481) are going to need a lot of work, if ever.
@@kevinwong6588 I see, but I still have hope for those!
You only mentioned 50 and 51. What are these other ones for? Are they all preserved?
rode those once and i can never forget ‘em. you have served us well R32s 🫡
Looks like 1988 again
Put it back in SERVICE!!!!! 😮😮😮😮😮😮
@@theestallion818 no it weren't
They mean failure rates were abysmal and the cars in general have been the source of complaints from riders, train crews, and maintenance shop personnel. Thankfully they are just using them for museum trips, but having them back in service when new cars are already entering service would be detrimental.
@@theestallion818 they will never come back they don’t have the parts anymore for maintenance since most of the R32s have been scrapped.
So what's happening to the rest of the train
Why are the first 2 cars zoned up?
😍
They Live
So they’re saving only 2 R32s? Or an entire train of them? Regardless, they need to be given the old “M” logo
I hope that it's the entire train 😊 Then it could be used on excursion runs.
3350-3351, 3352-3353 and 3360-3361 are the officially preserved pairs.
👍🏻🫶
Why aren't they using the blue R32 for tomorrow's event?
That's only for parade of trains
@@elizabethbobbio2601 oh, thanks for the info
@@MunipalsFanJose np
is the parade of trains tomorrow or nah?
@@elizabethbobbio2601 they actually used the blue pair today.
