    For me Catus and Succulent are both giving you an inspiration and good health benefits, esp. when you see them have a flower.

    Wonderful collection! Really amazing! I'd love to see a full detailed video of your Haworthia collection, they look beautiful.

    • @87walker
      @87walker  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank-you! I can certainly put together a Haworthia video in the next few weeks although they are not looking their best as most have been cut up for propagation, it's also a very long process (6+ months) so will be sometime before I have them back looking nice. Thanks for watching & Happy Gardening!

    Fantastic collection really love the Astrophytums.winter in Ireland so overwintering plants inside.

    • @87walker
      @87walker  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! I've taken a real liking to Astrophytum over the past year or so and keep adding more! Interesting that your overwinter your cactus inside, do you have frost sensitive species in your collection?

    • @shanewalsh1439
      @shanewalsh1439 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      87walker ,frost but also very wet in Ireland in the winter so very damp and cold,will be investing in a heater and bubblewrap but for the meantime i bring in frost sensitive succulents and cacti but leave out tephrocactus,opuntias,chamaecereus and Im going to chance leaving out lobivias and rebutias this winter in the greenhouse.

    • @87walker
      @87walker  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard Ireland's winters can be very harsh - nothing like we have where I live. My only advice would be to dry them out early and keep them super dry if your trialing plants outside for the first time, cold and dry = good flowers though so always an upside!

    • @shanewalsh1439
      @shanewalsh1439 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      87walker left my tephrocactus and agaves and xchamaelobivas last year and came out fine.Southern Ireland usually have mild winters not usually going down -2°c/-3°C.13°C at the moment at 10 a.m,my last watering was the 10th of October.

    Enjoyed this video very much. Amazing collections you have. Can you say me that how to enhance blooming in cactus and how long should I keep cactus in direct sunlight at above 35℃?

    • @87walker
      @87walker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keeping cacti completely dry during winter will assist in flowering, I would always recommend keeping cacti somewhat shaded, 50%-70% shade cloth works well for most cacti... Happy Gardening!

    great collection, do you still use the thrive fertiliser? do you have the exact product name?

    • @87walker
      @87walker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jack,
      I have just changed to a commercial fertiliser which is not available as a retail product. The thrive I used is called "flower & fruit" I would still use it if I hadn't switched. Thanks for watching & Happy Gardening!

    Amazing collection! Where could I purchase plastic pots like yours in bulk? I have so many clay pots and it’s getting too heavy.

    • @87walker
      @87walker  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank-you! The pots I use are form a supplier called garden city plastics they are based in Victoria. The only issue is their minimums are very high meaning you need to buy a certain amount which can be anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand! My recommendation if you don't need that many would be to have friends and family look out for you and if you have a recycling center near by call in there, so many pots get discarded. I have been using some pots for 10 years or more. Thanks for watching & Happy Gardening!

    Would you be able to make a video on your gymnocalycium collection exclusively?

    • @87walker
      @87walker  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, yes I absolutely can... I have actually got a few new video formats in the pipeline, one of which is an in depth look at a specific family of cacti so I will most definitely be doing Gymnocalycium as they are one of my favourite cacti families... Thanks for watching & Happy Gardening!

    hey bro i want to know why dont you rotate the pots quarterly so they dont grow unbalanced and towards the light only?

    • @87walker
      @87walker  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Where I am the sun is extremely strong and I found that when rotating plants the other side was getting sun burnt, if I had of rotated earlier and more frequently I could have avoided this. In the future I will have a greenhouse which will provide more consistent light and the cacti will return to a better balance. Thanks for your comment & Happy Gardening!

    You have fewer cactus than before?

    • @87walker
      @87walker  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do! My collection grows and shrinks periodically, in the past 12 months I have sold a lot of plants to make space for the plants I want to grow in the future, don't worry though it will be back to it's previous numbers soon enough. Thanks for watching and Happy Gardening!
