  • Join us for Days 94 to 96 of our End-to-End hike across the UK where we continued on the South West Coast Path and hiked from Combe Martin to Mortehoe and onto Braunton.
I was a bit apprehensive hiking this stretch because I hit my breaking point there last year and was wondering if it was as tough as I remembered. In addition to that, we also hiked through an amber wind warning and quite a bit of rain.... But we also experienced the kindness of strangers and were rewarded by beautiful views.
    Route:
    Combe Martin-Mortehoe (14.9mi/24km)
    Mortehoe-Saunton Sands (11.2mi/18km)
    Saunton Sands-Braunton (9.9mi/16km)

I've never been on the stretch that you're on now, and the shots that you're taking are absolutely amazing. It's really beautiful. When you were on the very tight ascending paths I was concerned at Otto being distracted and going over the edge, so I was relieved when he was on the leash. It's such an amazing adventure that you're undertaking. Well done ! Thanks ! Sheffield South Yorkshire.

Great videos!! I found this channel from searching walking in the Brecon Beacons, as I’ve decided I want to get back into hiking & explore the areas I hiked in the Scouts (over 20 years ago!), which is all areas near Bristol. I’m now watching through all your videos & I feel very inspired! Walking in nature & enjoying beautiful scenery, seeing many historical sites & enjoying delicious food really is one of the best things to be doing in life!

Hello Elli, really very nice pictures of Cornwall. Obviously the wind must have been strong. Regarding the question of what lies around the next corner on a hike, I would say: The next corner again, exactly just like in life. Further on a good path, keep on and strong!😊

once again a very beautiful video, beautiful views of the southwest of England, you looked very happy, Otto is such a lovely dog, had a vegan breakfast the other day, liked it but have to say I do loved a full English breakfast, as always looking forward to your next adventure. 😊

Hello and Hi there Elli & Otto.
Well, that statute was bloody strange Not something I would want in my garden lol. Looks like you're or should I say were! starting to get use to the rain.
Awesome video again Elli. Even more beautiful views and great footage.
    😜✌

hahahaha, right?! Definitely a bit strange the statue.... As for the rain: So true, I'm not that annoyed. But I also feel like it blows over quite quickly on the coast, often times... I rarely had longer spells of rain on the coast... :)

Beautiful! I have actually been to Ilfracombe with my family, there are these nice little sand coves you can walk down to, and we went on a boat tour. Good to see you smile so much and beating your previous hardships with ease! Keep it up and another great video

Lovely to follow you here. I have yet to walk Minehead to Westward Ho! So it is interesting and useful to watch 😊 I really admire your optimistic attitude and love for the terrain and areas 😊👍You are surely home by now. But I would like to recommend taking a trip to the Isles Of Scilly some time. There is a ferry from Penzance. And there are campsites on several of the islands. Utter beauty and tranquility ❤

The first part of the SWCP is so beautiful, although very different from other parts - but that's one of the things I love so much: the variation on the coast path. Re the Isles of Scilly: So true, they are so beautiful, I went there a few years ago and absolutely loved it :)

😂 Otto made those steps look easy, they were perfectly spaced for him!
    Lovely bell tent campsite
Glad you got through the difficult bit OK
I guess the path is windy anyway
Does Otto show any signs of anxiety if you leave him alone, now ? Dogs are highly discriminating so hopefully he can understand the difference between home life and backpacking. Search - dog separation anxiety - if he shows any signs.

If you want to see seals close to walk the Norfolk coast path between Sea Palling and Horsey. At low tide they all come to rest on the beaches and there’s literally hundreds of them

Another great informative video Elli. Every time I’ve visited that part of England it’s nearly always been raining or Misty. Always the smell of the sea and…windy no matter where you where, inland or seaside. Happy you got some calm days & sunshine. You did well as did little Otto 🌊 🐕🚶🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much :) I think, I was lucky with the weather overall, it wasn't too bad and only a few days of rain on the coast path :)
