  • Mr H and the girls take a walk at low tide over to explore the now uninhabited tidal island of Hibre which lies two miles from the coastline of West Kirby in Merseyside to find forgotten smugglers caves and WW2 relics as well as some other interesting features.

Very interesting, never heard of this area before. Beautiful archway cut from the waves at 8:44 thanks for the tour and info and to Mrs H (I presume) for helping you. Wonder why they couldn't replace the warden, must've been rubbish pay...I'm sure there's loads of people who'd live there quite happily given suitable pay & conditions.

Hi Ann it's a beautiful place to visit but you must check the tides and stick to the recommended route when visiting. Regarding replacing the Warden it depends also on what qualifications or experience they was looking for at the time as I'm sure that there was more to the job than just being willing to live off the grid and cut off from the mainland at various times of the day.

Hi Alan glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for subbing. I did see the vertical iron ladder cut into the rock next to the old lifeboat house and as you say it's awesome. But as you probably know the rocks around that area can be very slippy and treacherous with green algae so in the end we decided against filming it which is a shame.

Hi Wayne, it's to add an air of mystique! 😉 Lol. Seriously though she dosen't think she'd feel comfortable in front of the camera that's all, but you never know one day she might want to.
