      Excellent video! I learned a lot! Interesting to see the early Viking and Celtic influences and later the changes in religions from Paganism, to Christianity, and then to Lutheranism. I also really liked your cinematic effects and the background music.

    This channel definitely deserves more subscribers. Great video. I've never understood how earlier cultures could not see that "deforestation" never helps anyone, and that for every tree cut down two should be planted. It really isn't that hard of an idea. At least whoever named the island "Iceland" was honest about the place. lol.

    Your presentation impressed me enough that I sent a link to a couple of friends, which is something that I very rarely do. I did not, nor will I attempt to fact check your data, but I thought you did an exceptional job in being factual, and not letting a bias influence the facts. I hope that you are that objective. I think the length, scope, and presentation of the subject was appropriate for maintaining interest. Great Job.

    In watching this, I realized I knew more of Icelandic history than of Polish history. Seeing that you're Polish, I hope you return to making videos and concentrate on your nation's history and that of surrounding areas. Like most Americans, I am aware of post WW2 history there, if of any.
    I didn't answer your questions directly. I hadn't glanced at them until afterwards. I do think you should continue with basically the same format, just relaxed, not so stiff. Stiffness is normal when first in front of the camera, but we learn to relax.

    The "Missed Hardships" is not correct, a translation error. The Icelandic term is "Móðuharðindi", i.e. the "Mist Hardships" or literally "The Misty Hardships", probably due to the gases and volcanic ash from the massive Lakagíga eruption.

    • @Boop__Doop
      @Boop__Doop ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question as a native I can say that it's most likely false.
      The real story now accepted is that when Leifur came to Iceland he came in the winter just east of Vatnajökull (the big glacier) and so it was very cold, ontop of that much of his lifestock died and if I'm remembering correctly his daughter died also however that may be me misremembering and so since it was cold and he was sad from all the deaths he named the island he found Iceland.
      And when he then moved on after the winter he sailed further west untill he hit another island in summer where it was warm and green and since it was green there he named this island Greenland.
      I hope this answers your question.
