The actor that plays Laurie is a brilliant actor. He makes me want to punch him!!! I love Sienna and Sinead. Sienna is my favourite character, so hope she gets better.
So glad hollyoaks is raising awareness of this abuse. Unfortunately this really happens and they have portrayed it really well.Im still recovering from the emotional scars.😞
I hope that all HO fans watching this who are going through ANY SORT of gaslighting, emotional, mental, and/or physical abuse (and every other sort of abuse out there) realise that 1) there IS *HELP* out there for you. 2) there IS someone who *WILL* listen. Even though it may not seem like it right away (like with Sienna/Laurie's storyline), they WILL believe you. Do NOT stop trying, MAKE someone... ANYONE listen! Your voice is *JUST AS IMPORTANT* as anyone else's. 3) there is ALWAYS a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes you need to search that light out, but do *NOT* let the darkness overcome you. You're too strong to give up ❤️ 4) you WILL believe this is the hardest thing you'll ever do...and it IS. Speak about it, no matter HOW SMALL you think their actions are, because you NEVER KNOW when/where/ it could escalate. 5) you absolutely CANNOT let anyone take away YOUR VOICE. This is YOUR STORY and you are entitled to speak it until you're blue in the face... or until you are BELIEVED. I *sincerely* wish that someone had told me these things when I was younger. I wouldn't have made the relationship choices I did. In hindsight, it made me stronger...but I wouldn't have wasted so many years on people who DID NOT *deserve* me. Find your light. Become stronger. Love yourself for WHO YOU ARE, because no matter who you are, wherever you are in this vast world, and whatever struggles you're going through... You are *loved* You are *special* You are *worthy* Cheers, everyone, from USA. Xx ❤️ (Sorry this is so long, but needed to be said)
It is of no importance who is worse of Buster or Laurie . that is academical. What is important is that their victims get help, and that they are being stopped from causing harm. From a legal point of view both cases would prove hard to prove beyond reasonable doubt - had they been pushed the way a proper defense attorney would have pushed them. As an example, because of Sienna`s past mental history, it would have been very hard to prove beyond reasonable doubt she hit Laurie because he touched her inappropriately, and not because she was mentally ill. Likewise the fact Ollie changed his story, and accused Buster instead of Scott, after Brody came to talk to him, could have been painted by Buster`s defense as if Brody made up the allegations against Buster to help his friend, Scott, got Ollie to go along with the plan to help Scott (who Buster`s defense easily could point at as the true abuser of Ollie, since his was the name Ollie had given his father when pushed) - and the result could have been Buster was acquitted, Scott would have been branded a child molester, Ollie believed to be gay and Brody in risk of being charged and prosecuted from everything from false allegations of sexual assault, witness manipulation, attempted corruption of justice and perjury. Serious allegations, which could have landed him behind bars. Since we, as viewers, get to see the person to person interaction between Laurie and Sienna, and therefore know with certainty Sienna is telling the truth, we have an advantage which doesn`t exist in real life. Personally I think a better and more accurate way to present the storyline, would have been from Sally`s point of view, and we as audience didn`t learn or see anymore than what she heard and saw. And therefore we had to make up our mind about who was telling the truth of Sienna or Laurie, without knowing anymore than Sally about which of them was telling the truth. That would have been realistic. Cause in real life there are very few evidence in cases like this, extremely strong emotions in both parties and a pressure from society to deliver a result. As a result very few of these cases are straight forward and easy to find the just outcome for. Since everyone from the police to the lawyers representing both the prosecution and the defense, the judge and the ordinary jurors, will worry they either could come to convict someone who is innocent, or help letting a predator roam free and perhaps cause harm to more people. Similar it would have been for Sally. And that is why her angle would have been the most representative of real life way to address this topic.
Fully agree. The acting of those three has made this storyline as great and important as it is. But the storyline, as a storyline, could have been even better, in my opinion - if we had seen it from Sally`s point of view, and didn`t know which one of Sienna or Laurie who was telling the truth, and therefore what decision would be the right one. But if Sally had made her decision not to open a full investigation and suspension of Laurie, only then the story focused on Sienna`s shock, anger and sadness of not being believed. At the same time as we as viewers got privy to the hidden truth of what was going on inside Laurie and Sinead`s marriage. So we would realize Sienna most likely had told the truth, while Sally anguished over whether or not she had made the right decision. That would have given us as viewers a more correct understanding of how difficult these types of cases are.
@@Tvjunkieful12 that would be so cool of the audience didn't know who was telling the truth and at the end of the verdict of we got a flashback revealing the truth
@@rehnumachowdhury3629 In my opinion a flashback only works when there are lots of details - like in a whodunit. I think starting the Sinead and Laurie abuse storyline, after the allegations against Laurie from Sienna had been dismissed, would have been a better way of showing who Laurie truly was.
I don't know Kyle Pryor ever got an award for playing Laurie Shelby but he definitely got the reward of the hot and gorgeous Anna Passey as his partner.
Unfortunately no, the board decided to drop the investigation and in tonight's first look episode on E4, Laurie teases Sienna causing her to have an outburst inside a classroom to the point Sally St. Clair calls her into the office. So far it looks bad for Sienna.
"'Her? She's got more baggage than Heathrow!" Whichever scriptwriter penned that episode deserves a knighthood or damehood for services to drama or services to screenwriting for that line alone. 😂
Joseph Rolando I also hope that Liam (Payne) 😉 will also get help after what he did to his own Sister Grace and Mercedes and her Family including her Cousin Prince!
I hate him too,but maybe slightly different angle. I lost my husband to hate, sexual assault and he died from result, but at my job twice have been targeted and could not really do much since the company ignores males in that scenario. Should just be a survivor is a survivor period. The work part was not an attack, but in one case high boss moved store to store only targeted guys. Love Hollyoaks for doing this ,and while Survivors Manchester helped me so much, there are many agencies such as St Mary's to help women abused.
