This is a nice review. You may want to mention that the manual states you should burn in the motor for about 30 to 45 minutes at a high rpm before preforming any wood turning. Apparently the motor will make some initial clicking sounds that will eventually go away during the burn in process.
What a Great video! I just ordered my Nova Comet ll and hopefully it will be delivered next week? You gave me some things to think about with your video!
Was steering towards the "Grizzly mini lathe or the Jet at about the same price range" however ! I have been reviewing and listening to other "Woodworkers" for about 6 months now .Only woodshop tool I don't have yet.I think this is it ?
Hi Jason, yes you can use the Super Nova Chuck on the Comet 2. You simply need the proper chuck insert to adapt the Super Nova to the proper thread for the Comet 2 spindle. If you would like to order one of these please feel free to give us a call at. 877-872-2487 and we will be happy to help you get everything you need.
Be sure to read the owners manual, you have to break the motor in before using it. You said that you can take it out of the box and start turning. As a lot of people would. Thom Rider did a review and mentioned that little tidbit . Thanks for the video.
Thanks David, this is a good point. I always encourage everyone to read the owners manual before firing up a new machine. If for nothing more than a refresh on safety rules.
Glad to see safety at the end using safety glasses but HEY what about a Hair Net for the Pony Tail hair. Nasty accident waiting to happen there, getting caught up in the work.
Hi Dave, definitely a good point. I normally wear a hat while working in the shop to keep the hair out of the way of any tool that may want to grab it. The hat also helps keep sweat out of the eyes for clear vision on those hot Florida days in the shop.

I love the video because of all about Nova Comet ll features and uses are clearly shows

I'm just getting started with my lathe. I'm having trouble removing the spindle so I can add the chuck.
I should add. Not sure if I trying to turn it the correct way to remove the spindle. Arthritis in hands so may just be that I'm too weak to turn it.

Will the Nova Super Nova 2 Standard Chuck work on this lathe.
