Excellent job Dustin... proves that a bed can do recoveries. With as heavy as that truck is, plus the incline resistance added...that was heavy for a 3/8 cable. The bed side puller was key to not twisting your bed. Alotta rookie drivers don't realize all that lateral load is magnified by the leverage of sliding the deck back to winch off the end with a regular snatchblock & puts All that load on the bed pivot pin. This side puller keeps it in the steel bedlocks & increases its resistance to pulling the whole truck. Excellent job buddy! Nice payday for that recovery.
I like the way you film and work through the issues in a methodical manner, better than the way the key board operators dont work! Seriously being able to watch the safe successful recovery vs some one commenting to just be negative about watching a pro at work is why TH-cam is my primary tv entertainment.
That was a heck of a recovery we've been pretty busy today I had to watch it in three different parts but very good job brother you do awesome work and you're very safe about doing it enjoy watching
Dustin, you worked very hard on this recovery. Kudos to you for sharing this video! You rock when it comes to your jobs and videos ! 😊 But how did he get the key bob 🤔 😳
Looked like they drive tractors in on that road. Was there an opening in the guard rail at that point? Hope the driver and any passengers are all ok. 🙏🏼
that’s messed up man. I know how that owner feels. I had one of my cars stolen one time and they did lots of damage to that thing . the full coverage was dropped on it a week prior to them stealing it. you want to talk about some messed up shit ? yep I had to eat all that damage but luckily I was able to cut a deal with somebody and got into another ride real quick and then later I bought another nice car and then moved out of that neighborhood. good job brother hopefully everything works out for the owner of that truck 👍
I'm thinking why it wouldn't start is they left the lights on. Battery was probably low and Chrysler products are finicky about low voltage. might have ran with a jump enough to get it out.
It wouldn't start because there was no key fob. Either the thief had the key or he stole it while it was running or possibly used a repeater box that clones the key signal. Either way once the officers shut the truck off it wasn't starting again without the key. Those trucks will shut the lights off before the battery is too low to start it or after so many minutes of the lights on without the truck running. At least my 2020 ram 2500 does. I am surprised the truck even cranked though without the key. You can hear him say that the dash was giving a message no key fob detected, but it was still cranking fast enough to easily start it if the key had been in the vehicle.
If they have insurance, they'll pay it. If not, the customer would pay it. That's normally how it goes. I run a wrecker service also, and I've had customers want you to take it to their house. I will if they go ahead and pay for it. If they have insurance, they would reimburse them. If not it'll go to the yard and they'll settle up then.
Hey Dustin; what’s happening with the Kenworth, it’s been off the road a little while now is there something major wrong as it is a fairly new truck. Be interested to know how long before you get it back. Keep up the great videos……. Cheers From Land Down Under Australia
At least it wasn't sinking in the mudd on top of being on the tree. 20 years ago that was a 2k job charges to the customer. You forgot your heavy blankets on the rigging setup?
All the fluid was on one end of the engines probably why it didn't want to start, once you got it level by the post it should have started but to each his own I would have tried to start it again once it was mostly level what does Dodge diesels are kind of finicky sometimes
That is really steep looking even in the video. But how does someone get lucky enough to steal a vehicle with the keys in it 🧐? It’s like the owner left an invitation. Trucks unlocked, here are the keys, feel free to steal it. Do you think it’s repairable?
Good job Dustin, but why didnt you atleast try to restart truck once you got it up by guard rail? Never know if it would have started or not to make it easier of a recovery cuz you didnt try it. Prolly wouldn't but wouldn't have hurted to try?
Probably an illegal stole it... Too bad the tree stopped it, maybe going into the creek would have been a better option especially if the creek is 20 feet deep! There will be no justice for the owner..
That was pretty much a brain teaser. They got the right man for the job!! Excellent work, Dustin!! 👏👏👏👏
Thank You!
Wow man this looks like it has been a long day for you and as always great work
I feel bad for the owner of that truck. The criminal will probably never be caught, unfortunately.

Thank You! This is exactly why I invested in a side puller. Not many people think of it as you mentioned.

That was tedious, GREAT JOB, Dustin!

It’s been pretty busy lately for us as well.
Been crazy trying to keep up with posting. Lol
Nice job on that recovery God bless you and stay safe
Hi Dustan. I am glad you loaded it the way you did. Makes sence. Well another Ram bites the tree. Stay safe see you on the next one 😊
Thanks for watching!
That's a lot of tedious work but I'm sure the owner will be grateful.
Saw your post on FB about this.Glad you recorded it!
As always Great Job!!!
Thank You!
Great job Dustin, lots of work. Thanks.
Dustin, you worked very hard on this recovery. Kudos to you for sharing this video! You rock when it comes to your jobs and videos ! 😊 But how did he get the key bob 🤔 😳
It’s how they steal them. They make their own.
I like that you don't give up what does Dodge diesels unlike Duramax Detroit and powerstroke don't like to start unless they're level
Ya do what ya got do. Go make that money!
Looked like they drive tractors in on that road. Was there an opening in the guard rail at that point? Hope the driver and any passengers are all ok. 🙏🏼
Nice job. Those type of jobs usually take a lot of work. Have to think outside the box.
Thank You!
That's a very good work you should get double pay for this job for what you have to do

Hey rookie you did a good job on this one👍👍
Appreciate it!
That was some distance

It was likely started remotely by the thief. So it wouldn’t have started without the key.
Does electric steering effect dead tows? Can they upgrade that truck to an air winch?
Nice job do you get paid by the tow hourly or percentage
Percentage.
How did you get that truck out?
Curious... who pays the recovery and tow bill?

What happened to the kenworth
Passed it to a new driver and started running the newer Freightliner.
Are you ever going to get back your kw
He said like 2-3 videos ago no. Hes full time in the FL
You gonna end up putting LED Headlights in the Freightliner?
Probably not. I have them, just don’t have time.

He disclosed a few videos ago the new guy has the Kw and he is full time in this truck now.
I’m running the Freightliner full time now. I passed the Kenworth on to a new driver, and started running the newer Freightliner.
Question for you why did you park so far away? Wouldn’t it be easier if you was a little bit closer
He parked in a good spot. He couldn't drive the tow truck down there. It would have gotten stuck.
I got as close as I could.
Nice recovery. Who needs a stinking rotator!
I would love one lol I’d get my CDL and run a rotator lol
At least it wasn't sinking in the mudd on top of being on the tree. 20 years ago that was a 2k job charges to the customer. You forgot your heavy blankets on the rigging setup?
A rotator flatbed would be very useful
They’re very problematic. A few companies have made them, and they never take in the industry well.
Please be very careful with that truck 😊

It wasn’t going to start without the Key…

That ram when for ride
Good job Dustin, but why didnt you atleast try to restart truck once you got it up by guard rail? Never know if it would have started or not to make it easier of a recovery cuz you didnt try it. Prolly wouldn't but wouldn't have hurted to try?
It says no key detected on the dash. Which is why it wouldn’t start.
Did the owner come
Not that night, he was thinking about his car.
48 minutes early now 49
That used to be a nice truck
😊❤👍
Too much ram and not enough dodge
change your battery on your remote.
Wouldn’t matter that far away.
Probably an illegal stole it... Too bad the tree stopped it, maybe going into the creek would have been a better option especially if the creek is 20 feet deep! There will be no justice for the owner..
Illegal what?
