    In my view DS & Durga Pistachio is a unique perfume that I appreciate wearing. Kayali Yum Pistachio is a pleasant perfume that smells generic. I much rather spend my money on the DS & Durga one.

    I was waiting for this review..It sounds like Yum Pistachio Gelato 33 performs more like an Eau de Toilette than an Eau de Parfum Intense. I'm not a huge fan of citrusy fragrances but if the parfum has some sweetness I would go for it.
    I'm so looking forward to watching the haul video on Sunday.🎉🎉

      I'm glad you got the proper review you needed love. ❤🥰😘I sometimes listen to people review perfumes inaccurately either to please brands and get on the PR list or unintentionally out of ignorance and it kills me. So, I can't wait to review that perfume properly and do it justice and give people what they deserve - the truth. ❤It definitely doesn't smell like an intense fragrance for sure. It has the performance of a EDT or an EDP. I'm not a huge fan of the overly citrusy opening but the citruses calm down toward the middle of the perfume and definitely by dry down.😊It's definitely sweet for sure. 😊I have an epic haul on Sunday! 🥰❤

    • @syvonnie15
      @syvonnie15 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really don’t think it’s sweet, maybe a lil bit at the dry down but at the point, you can barely smell it.

    • @CeylonCleo
      @CeylonCleo  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@syvonnie15 I can smell the sweetness, but it's not overly sweet. 😊 The dry down smells sweeter because the citruses are not dominating the perfume by the dry down. 😊

    It wasn't what I expected either but I really do love the scent. It's very bright and sugary but still light enough for summer. I will need a bigger bottle though since I have to reapply. I have a dent already as well. I don't get anything soapy like some are, it smells super gourmand to me. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts ❤

    • @CeylonCleo
      @CeylonCleo  ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely wasn't what I expected but it's still a good soft gourmand for spring and summer. It's definitely bright with those citruses in the opening. It's a bit overwhelming. I wish the citruses weren't so strong in the opening. It's definitely sweet and soft gourmand. I put a dent into it over-spraying to give it a chance to perform at its best because some of my other Kayali ones don't perform the best. 😊I don't get any soapiness. I don't know who's getting sopy.

      @CeylonCleo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Andrea darling! 🤗 Welcome to my channel! 🥰❤ Yes, the Kayali one is not bad if you didn't expect a pistachio perfume. It's not a pistachio scent but rather a soft gourmand with gelato. Mona does know how to hype up her fragrances and they do it all mostly on social media without spending much. They do things like take pieces from a video of influencers that said anything positive about their perfumes and push it out without asking the creator or paying them anything. Also, they don't send PR to anyone who has said anything negative about their perfumes. Pay attention and you will notice. If you are a reviewer who shares 100% honest opinions, you won't be on their PR list.

      Hi darling! 🤗I know what you mean. The citrus opening is overwhelming. I wish the the bergamot note wasn't so overpowering in the opening. It's definitely a huge let down to those who expected a creamy pistachio scent.😩But it has some redeeming qualities. You can smell the lactonic vibes from the pistachio gelato note and it becomes a soft gourmand towards the dry down, but it gets closer to the skin by then for sure.

    Thank you so much for a great, on point review! Just wanted to point out that the “ch” in Pistachio is pronounced as “sh.” ☺️❤️❤️

    • @CeylonCleo
      @CeylonCleo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Anika love! 🥰❤Yes, that's how we here in the U.S. pronounce - "Pistashio," but I was once told that the "t" in the word should be pronounced and that's the correct way to pronounce it.😊 When you do pronounce the "t" in it, it comes out with a "ch" not "sh." It's actually pronounced "Pistachio" like the Greek word it comes from. In Italy it's pronounced "Pistacchio" and that's the correct way to say it. But in English, it's pronounced "Pistashio," as you suggested because it's a mix between French and Italian. It's the pronunciation the English language has adopted. I try to pronounced words the way they are pronounced in the original language. 😊

    • @gen_o
      @gen_o ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s spelled pistacchio in Italian and pronounced as /pis’takːjo/. But ofcourse there’s the Americanized version that is more popular today, and spelled with only one “c” in English (which probably may have started the confusion and mispronunciation in earlier times).

    • @gen_o
      @gen_o ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CeylonCleo Btw, I agree with most points in your review. I have the Yum Pistachio and have levelled my expectations. It’s indeed more gelato (not ice cream - another huge difference IMO) than the nuttiness expected from pistachio.

    • @CeylonCleo
      @CeylonCleo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gen_o You are right Gen. In Italian, it's a "k" sound and in French, it's a "sha" sound. The origin of the word is Greece. The "correct" way to say it would be "Pis'ta-k-jo." But a European once told me that it should be pronounced, "Pis-tat-chio." Seems there's a lot of confusion as to how it should be pronounced. The English of course bastardized it as adopted a mix pronunciation between French and Italian - Pis-ta-shio." That lead to a lot of confusion too.

    • @CeylonCleo
      @CeylonCleo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gen_o Gen, I said, "Ice cream" because some people might not know exactly what Gelato is. I'm talking to a wide audience in my videos and I need to make sure everyone gets what I'm saying. There might be people who have never had it. Gelato is not as creamy as ice cream. I remember having my first "real" Gelato in Rome when I was young. This was way before Gelato became readily available everywhere like it is today. Heck, we have a Venchi right in our mall now. 😊 Personally, I much prefer Gelato than ice cream. Not a huge fan of ice cream. Yes, the Kayali perfume is definitely more Gelato than pistachio. 😊
