I'm getting a feeling that you might like dinosaurs.

I just finished the game and you're spot on.
The game struggles to find its niche and the combat loop causes its identity crisis to stick out like a sore sickled claw.
Does it want to be an atmospheric thriller shooter like RE/Dino Crisis? The fast player movement and high magazine capacity in Dino Trauma remove all tension from encounters. RE/DC forced the player to be locked into place to fire and kept ammo low, positioning and landing shots mattered. Tight corridors and slow movement forced quick decision-making. Do I immediately start blasting and risk damage. Do I fall back to the prior room? Can I dodge out and risk the chase into the next room...what if there are more raptors in there too? Dino Trauma's cramped offices and barracks don't inspire threat when you're 3 times faster than the enemy and can scurry safely away.
Does it want to be retro arcade shooter like Turok/Dusk? The movement, gunplay, and some arenas feel like it, but the enemies are too sluggish and one-dimensional to serve any real threat. Enemy variety forced the player's full hand in Dusk. Shotgunners and chainsaws for backward movement. Casters and riflemen pestered you from afar. Did you kite too far away from an evil ram's charge? It joins in on the volley and shoots an energy bolt at you. It gave weapon choice and movement purpose for each encounter. It allowed each encounter to feel dynamic.
I remember one Dino Trauma encounter shined through past the others and came close to this. I can't recall the level's name but it threw 2 bosses, a handful of raptors and dilos, and a dozen compys at the player. B-hopping strafing around raptors and compys typically isn't an issue, but a brachiosaurus disrupted the flow of the fight. I found my eyes looking up, instead at the little monsters at my ankles. Raptors served as obstacles to kite around after being pushed back by the tanky long neck. Dilos actually had an opportunity to set up ranged attacks and drew focus. I stayed put in one half of the arena so as not to trigger the aggro of the other boss wandering in the other half. I found myself reloading the save just to play the encounter without taking damage. Again, the enemies were one-dimensional, but the flow of combat felt satisfying.
Dino Trauma has some foundations and concepts, and I love the level design. I want it to be great, but the project is currently anemic.

I have one piece of feedback that i feel it could be crucial to improve this game's presentation and that is on the 'Tone' and 'Visual' departments and that is to go for adding some 'Left 4 Dead' like tone to it because the image of mixing Dino Crisis and Left 4 Dead would be a great idea and would mix well with everything from what i am looking this game currently has.
Not saying that they should start adding zombies or anything like that but the tone of pure danger whenever encountering dinosaurs and when a swarm of them starts to quickly go at you there's a clear ambiance of pure tension and dangerous urgency like being on an action horror film, since there's a clear variety it can work well with some tense original music to create a tone of the game of it's own and for a game called 'Dino Trauma' i wanna kind of shit my pants whenever i am fighting dinosaurs in these dark decrepit areas and one final nail for me is their animation AND ai being improved, kind of like a zombie on Left 4 Dead whenever you get spotted by any zombie they just run at you flying their arms around in attempts to harm you in any way, i think something like that can work with the majority of dinosaurs here and unlike zombies Dinasours are more effective catching their pray so naturally i would like them to have a more effective AI than what i am witnessing although this part may have been improved i don't know but they can do something different on attempting to attack you depending of the type of dinasour instead of all of them doing identically and exactly the same way though again this might be already on the works.
Overall from what i am seeing and as someone who really loves Dino Crisis and wanted to see some type of spiritual successor this is some good stuff so far, there's some clear rough around the edges but it has the real potential of becoming something great for everyone to see and try out!
For now, i am willing to get this game this year later on to see how it has improved since this video came out.

Game certainly looks fascinating and worth it for the environments/level design alone, albeit the fighting is meh to the point of boredom.

compound fracture it's dino crisis 1 with half life 1
this one it's dino crises 2 with Dusk... but yeah it's easy
i hope they make dinosaurs faster and with some jump atacks the main characters it's too fast to the current style of attack.

Hm. If shooting is boring and crap in your FPS... I mean, does it even need to be pointed out?

It's still not going to resolve Dino Crisis 2's ending.

It has nothing to do with dino crisis to be honest, just retro fps placeholder (colored keys - check, braindead entities - check, standard weapon variety - check, one-way levels - check) just few borrowed light elements from DC at best like puzzles and points counter(that exist solely as an annoying overlay). I don't remember much of dino crisis but it's obvious how much it had in common with RE(traversing hazardous environment back and forth minding how much resources you have at your disposal) and this ain't it, right now it just a shooting gallery with enemies that don't present a threat. Good dinosaur game supposed to show that they're most dangerous creatures that ever roamed the Earth, you have to dread the moment when t-rex arrives, not anticipate that he will be a boss on a square tile with more methods to cheese him rather than defeat

you didnt even played it dumbass, also they said is inspired by DC not that is exactly the same, if you read the steam page you know they said its also inspired by quake,Turok and more.

Looks ok for yet another early 1990s "boomer" shooter. But the one that looks like a real successor to Dino Crisis is Compound Fracture.
And there's Ferocious, think Far Cry 1 with dinosaurs. Yay.

Nice clickbait, but by how unresponsive and unthreatening enemies are this can't in any way be inspired by dino crisis, especially the original which as you know has relentless and very dangerous raptors since the beginning

This looks like its literally a dino arcade game. Where is the story? I check at least once every year if someone is working on a Dino Crisis remake. Why don't they want millions of dollars!?
