    Paul, as a professor myself (and having had many, many teachers on my way there) I have ALWAYS found that the finest teachers employ a good sense of humor with the teaching. It never fails to relax the student and opens up so much for them. I thought I might have to use my inhaler after the 20 days of January thing; for 1/2 second I was actually trying to observe! Then bang! Great comedy. Thanks, as always. J

    • @ArtbyPaulClark
      @ArtbyPaulClark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thant's a great comment, thanks J - I think it goes way back to my old history teacher, who everyone loved. He would dress up and suddenly apear behind the desk in things like a Roman helmet and then follow on in an Italian accent! Learned lots and still love history ... probably down to him!

    I don't imagine you'll re-visit this video's comments, after 4 years Paul, but, just in case, I'd like to say how much I recognise your effortless-seeming skill and judgement and how affecting your example paintings of the skies at the end are. I refer to other painters as sources of knowledge, but when it comes to the kind of watercolour painting that drives to to persevere and hope that someday ... well, you're the man!

    Wonderful skies. Thanks for giving all the specifics of colors and how they separate if mixed, aliz & cobalt. Lovely! I think the gray skies of your country may give you gravitas. Think about Californians here in the U.S. No gravitas, just craziness. Too many sunny days, I think. ;) Of course, I'm from the Great Lakes region in the U.S. where we have lots of gray days, and lived near the ocean in New England. Hence, all are more sensible than those Californians. Still, they have plenty of beautiful blues there. No envy, of course.

    I’m so glad found your channel! Just changed from cellulose paper to real Arches 100% cotton. Found hard to learn new paper’s properties & last 4 skies turned into (even gradient) of two glaze so will try again & looking at sky each day great idea for practice!

    I just love the beautiful big skies and beautiful big skies is what I’ve just watched. Paul, you’re a true craftsman at creating them! Truly amazing to watch them come to life before my eyes. Thank you for the beautiful lesson. I’m now to dedicate a study book to skies, nothing more!

    What a talent you have. You fascinate me the way you can produce a picture so naturally. I gave up painting as I had no confidence but you have inspired me and I am starting to want to paint again with your guidance so thank you Paul.

    Que bonitos cielos, con que aparente sencillez los pinta, y a la vez que gran dificultad ....felicidades maestro...es un placer verme pintar, no entiendo las explicaciones por el idioma pero si se entiende con las imágenes...gracias

    You have reminded me that all washes dry lighter so I should not be afraid of using more color. Thanks!
