Latin America = A geographical region in the American continent where the languages that derives from the Latin language ( Lingua Latina In the 5th century BC, Latin was just one of many Italic languages spoken in central Italy. Latin was the language of the area known as Latium (modern Lazio), and Rome was one of the towns of Latium are spoken. ) The languages that are spoken in Latin America and derive from the Latin langue are Spanish, Portuguese and French. Question, French is also spoken and is one the official languages in Canada next to English, does that make Canada also a Latin American nation?
South America = a sub region in/of the American continent where the following languages are spoken in the following nations: Dutch in Suriname, English in Guyana, French in French Guiana (a department of France), Portuguese in Brazil, and Spanish in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay.
