- Strava says 18.12km and 960 metres of elevation gain. That hill is a hardcore pinch near the top. It blows my calves up too much on a normal bike so I ride the long way round or walk that bit usually. This bike flew up the hill with a little effort at around 200 metres per climb. Falling short of 5 full laps by 40 vertical metres. Weighing 20.7kg with exo plus maxx grip dhf front and exo dissector rear
Well, you have definitely given me confidence that the 140mm travel rear end can withstand some big hits. Nice work!
Great riding review!
They look great too! Especially that colour! ❤
Good to have you back making videos 🤙
I've got one. I like it a lot. But it's interesting there are several of these bike influencer reviews that say the handling in cornering is weird.
How long till Telly joins the Dark side ⚡️ that’s the question
Good upload as always.
How do you rate this bike compared to the Marin etrail you reviewed a while back?
Looking at getting one soon but can't decide on the full size vs something like this.
The playfulness and capability of the Marin (especially for the price) is impressive.
That Marin is still the best I’ve ridden. Same power as this but more range. But the Trance easily fits a full drink bottle in the frame where the marin is barely able to take 400ml. And I think the longer travel and slightly better geo makes the marin more capable on the gnarlier trails
Hi,
what is the difference between the Giant Trance X Advanced e+ el2 from 2024 and the one from 2023. Of course apart from the year and color :-)
There are a few spec differences. The 2024 is slightly better. Especially for the base model "3." The paint jobs are way better too imo.
Good video, solid riding mate
Thanks for another great review mate 😎
Beautiful bike!
Give it an axs eagle upgrade kit. Just did my 23 elite 3. Huge difference it riding
Nice ride 👍 I have the elite +1 here in Canada with active valve 👌 nimble bike really like it.
I just ordered an elite 1. Excited but nervous about moving into an e-bike. I love the black raw carbon colour-way. Your thoughts so far?
I just purchased the +1 yesterday,, looking forward to some great rides
Sick video mate, just wondering you mentioned about the bottom bracket is high, what position did you have the flip chip in?
Hey bud, the flip chip was in the low position. Great bike
Surely the 25km hr restriction can’t be for descending as well? I’m constantly clocking between 35-50 on some sections of our trails in South Africa
Of course not. It's a restriction on the pedal assist. Most countries have the 32kph so not sure why he has 25.
What about velociraptor chips? Do you hear of any reliability issues using them?
Nah I’m not sure about any of that, I’m a bit out of touch with the ebike tech.
Was the weight very noticeable on the trail compared to the Marin you rode?
Yeah its definitely noticable on the trail especially under brakes and on off camber stuff
@@mtbtelly5522 thanks I’m in the market for my first e-bike and the lighter weight ones look the goods so this one is definitely on the list
Thanks mate I’ll wait and see what the new norco fluid vlt is like before I decide but this one does look the goods cheers
Better than the old marin alpine e2 you tested? cheers 🍻
@@fernandom6811 the marin had a more plush rear suspension performance, but the Trance x fits a drink bottle no problems. I’d say the Marin was for downhill laps, the Trance X is for everything
@@mtbtelly5522 thanks for the feedback! 😊👍🏾 & great reviews!
Have you tested a Marin Rift Zone e 2
No I haven’t, but it looks killer
What size water bottle is that?
Big chugga! Full size 700ml camelbak bottle
What's that on the bar? phone mount?
Quad lock phone holder...
Super bike
They look I like a killer bike
Yeah 25k restriction is bogus, dumb laws. At the controls there should be a road mode thats limited to 25, put a little trust back into the rider. Theres plenty of other people doing wrong things on the road. Geeat vid, thanks for sharing. Legend
I think it’s to stop at getting out of control and basically having a bunch of siron’s or stark varges up the hill. There has to be a limit somewhere to make it a bicycle and not an E dirtbike
@@chadsugden411lol, e-mountain bikes have like less than 1 horsepower. Stark Varg has 80 horsepower. No comparison. Ebikes are not even in the same hemisphere as e-motorcycles.
Giant for the win 🎉 don't get an ebike. Will be the end of shuttles bro ha!
I’d always forget to charge the bike
Hey did you find the 140 in the rear held you back much?
Not really. Higher speed trails would suit more suspension, but this bike was killer for the stuff I rode on it
@@mtbtelly5522ok thanks will see how the norco fluid vlt is like when it comes out but this one e could be the go cheers
