    Great video, thanks. Got a replacement part and seals on ebay. Assembled, oil system good but got a leak think from the small pipe. I find it difficult to work out if the small pipe is sitting sealed correctly.
    I’ve put an extra o ring on each end going to reassemble then run up before putting the exhaust manifold back on hopefully won’t leak.

    Sitting with the same thing. I've replaced the seals. A week later there was an oil leak. I took everything off again, put rubber gasket maker on the block connectors as it seemed the most obvious spots to leak. Still leaks, even worse. So now I'm just replacing the whole unit. I have to just check if it is the seals or maybe the cooler that cracked or failed. It's been a headache. Every seal through the coolant system, the water pump and cooler seals have now been replaced after a coolant leak. Now its the oil leaking. Urgh!

    Nice video. Cheap fix if it's the seals that have lost their sealing quality. It could also be the oil cooler itself at fault though internally. Did the seal replacement sort your coolant contamination issue?

    Thanks for the great video. I just did this. Installed a whole new unit. Took a few tries to start the car afterwards, but when it did start part of the oil cooler block snapped off. The edge of the oval shaped inlet/outlet where the oval shaped gasket is. oil went everywhere. Any idea why that would happen? Cheers.

    Hi. Thankyou so much for this video. You have just solved a problem that I couldn't find any more info about. I have a leak at the oil cooler pipe to thermostat housing and I can now confidently fix it. One quick question... did you change the O ring at the point where the oil cooler pipe meets the oil filter housing? Thanks for the info dude...... 👍.

    Don't know when this was posted or if anyone will answer but did you replace the exhaust manifold and exhaust downpipe gaskets? I couldn't see that being done so I'm assuming they weren't changed. What metal cleaner was used? At the end I didn't see any oil added either, was this done? I'm changing my oil and filter too anyway. Thanks, it doesn't look that bad.

    I would have fit a new manifold gasket. To be honest I would just fit a new oil filter housing with the oil cooler as the parts are not too expensive could save you a lot of time should the oil cooler have an internal failure. Whilst doing this may as well fit a rocker cover gasket if it is showing signs of oil leaking

    Oil in coolent also comes from the timing belt gasket for the OIL PUMP. The oil gasket leaks going into the coolent line which sits close to each other on the engine block. This fix if you are losing oil and going onto the exhaust causing smoke.

    • @neddawg7107
      @neddawg7107 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your wrong the timing belt doesnt have a gasket, the water pump does but it is external and not run by the timing belt also theres no oil behind it when its taken off so if the gasket did fail there would still be no reason for an oil leak or oil mixing with coolant via the water pump gasket its either the oil cooler/ gasket or head gasket

      @@neddawg7107 th-cam.com/video/CCphtGwKdmc/w-d-xo.html This is what I mean for 1.8 1.6 cruze. If you have replaced the oil cooler and still have same issue you will have to replace this gasket.

    i just did mine on the zafira and changed all gaskets everything tightened up and double checked, but got a leak, gotta strip it back down I'm sure its going to be the small pipe into the housing, its a shit set up, but the garage wanted £650 to do it, mine was leaking because the back plate was corroded on the flat surface around the water flow side new one Vauxhall part £174-00 WTF another rip off plus the £68 for the gasket set

      Please let me know how it went, my Zafira leaks coolant for weeks, every garage asked for a fucking fortune, I'm planning to swap it myself as the whole cooler with the housing costs less than £120.

      @@looneygooner1960 sounds awesome. I went to Halfords for a quick check, they told me it's the oil cooler leaking, costs £350, I said yeah, sure, give me a few days, went to another place, they said £400, the third one said they don't even see a leak, so I'm done with feckin garages, I believe that's the cooler went fucked, it drips under that, so I'll replace that, and I'll see how it goes, but ffs, the whole shit costs £87 on autodoc, why tf any garages asks £400 for it, plus the labour?...
