I got this issue today only and it seems like lot of people are getting this issue recently. I submitted it to service center, waiting for their comment and if they quote something absurd I will bring back and check for the solution you provided
I have started facing same issue from last 2 days,, it's turning on but no display. Capslock light bot turning on but I can hear the sound and vibration of fans.
Ty man, I managed to fix it with this tip, I can also use the keyboard, once the charger light was on, I plugged the keyboard back in and the power light is still here then I closed my pc and it runs normally. I dont have to put the screwdriver on the sensitives metal pieces (i dont think its good in the long run)
Reason why I use an external keyboard since I bought my ROG from day 1. I have had this problem on my old laptop and the cause is that the multiple keys were registering a continuous high at the same time, so pressing the power button would not do anything and it does actually affect the power. I have had the similar problem with my old Xiaomi phone where I would press the power button but it would also press the volume-up key or would cause a continuous high on the volume key and the power button. This caused the phone to boot-loop continuously.
I had the same problem...I used your method and it turned on but i can see there is a problem with the power button when i press it brightness is going up and down. And my laptop is not shutting down. If i press shutdown even in my computer screen by alt+f4 the pc restarts. What to do in this case?
Bro i am facing the same issue currently. I have the same model with electro punk colour. This problem came for the 2nd time after purchasing in October 2023. As the laptop is within warranty, i call service centre for on sight as there is no service centre in Odisha, India. Bro i am really regreting after buying the asus rog laptop. I am really scared of after hearing that this problem come repeatedly.
First you have to turn the laptop on this way and the solution to this is turning on filter keys and set "Ignore quick keystrokes(slow keys)" to 0.3 seconds and it worked like a charm hope it helps
I got this same issue on my strix g16 yesterday and today I took it to the service centre as it was under warranty, they told me that it was caused by the keyboard and they will replace it

I bought it last 9 months ago. on the 1st month that i used it. there’s already have power issue then I bring it back to the store for warranty from where I buy it they just fix it. Then my son not used it for a month right now the power issue comes again until now my laptop is dead can’t use..
I have strix g15 g531 gt and when i plug in the charger i only get the airplane mode light. Many people with same Model as me are facing the same issue on reddit. Do you know what is casuing the issue? Not booting no lights on keyboard although a few weeks ago it started randomly and shut itself down after few minutes then same issue
Bro i tried removing battery then it charge then when i switched it on only the keyboard lighted up but the screens does not still black and then suddenly shutdown again
I can confirm that this works, but in my case, it sometimes requires disconnecting the keyboard ribbon cable for a period before reconnecting it and THEN shorting the start-up pins (after which the ribbon cable can be reattached, and the keyboard used normally). Problem is, the keyboard goes dead again following shutdown, prompting a repeat of the whole process. Does anyone have any insight into how complex such a repair would be? Is this something that can be handled as a board-level repair by local repair shops, or does it pretty much necessitate a manufacturer board replacement (likely a cost prohibitive option for those of us whose laptops are no longer under warranty)?
@@Shooki321 if you have any external USB keyboard then you can disable the laptop keyboard except the power button. Check out the pinned video in my telegram channel.
@@fixexe Regarding the solution using the tape - I have the EXACT same problem ( my ROG 15 Advantage Edition laptop is only able to turn on when shorting pins on the motherboard). But I want to clarify if the tape solution (shown in your most recent update on Telegram) will allow me to power up the laptop when pressing the power on button (which is non-functional). Can you clarify that?

I updated my software 1st day it was slowly turning on bios was a little bit late ona 3rd day it was dead i tried force shutdown pressed power button for 30sec it turned on i tried everything update everything uninstalled unused apps etc etc ....on 5th day my laptop was on restarting loop it was automatically restarting soo drain battery I left it idol and went to trip for a week and came back no it's was not even showing Charing sign nothing it was dead 💀
Bro my laptop not turning and if any it's turning on the i can't shut down unless I press power button it restart automatically.and when it turns off again it not turning my lp going to coma and turning on after 5- 10 days. Bro help!!
same issue as mine... try the keyboard trick i told in video. just disconnect the keyboard and then check if charging light turns on when you plug in the charger.

Ive taken this model to customer service with same issue and they changed the keyboard and power button.now everything works fine
