Looks good. Shame you got such a big box for something so small, after assembly. I understand the sprue need their space, but I can imagine it would feel a bit bulky keeping everything in the Expansion box. Even the rule book is a bit big for its content. Or am I being too judgy? Is there room in the main Box to store these components in - because that would help I guess?

It seems to be a standard box size for most of their expansions. It was the same with Gale force Nines Dune and Firefly expansions.
Its possibly chosen because it stands out on the shelf as well.

Will you be painting all the miniatures before the playthrough?

I might be, the aliens are easy enough to do. A black paint, black gloss for the heads, and a metallic/leadbelcher drybrush sorts them.
The Marines however will need a bit of TLC. God knows their situation is dire enough without being painted on top of that :p

thanks for the review, instrumental in helping my decision about choosing this over just figure set.
but i am such a pedantic soul...
Patrol medic may describe Dietrich better, as a specialist medic. Section medics would be lesser trained non specialists.
Section sizes vary greatly (Brit 8 typical, have seen up to 20) colonial marine platoon apparently 16, section 8, squad 4.
Lieutenant commands platoon, sergeant a section, corporal a squad.
So film is not quite a match at 12 (and lower ratio of gun teams), but specialist taskings may have varied troop composition.: heavy on command, specialist support, and airborne mobility.
One possibility is its a section of 8 (~squad 1 apone, drake, crowe, frost, ~squad 2 hicks, vasquez, hudson, wiersbowski)
plus 1 mission commander (lt gorman)
plus 1 patrol medic (dietrich) odd she has a flamethrower like frost, so could swap in for Hudson and have him as attached tech corporal
plus flight 2 crew (spunkmeyer, ferro)
    plus synthetic (bishop)
    plus consultant (ripley)
    plus sleazy CEO (burke)
i can hear the editor shouting from here sorry
    cheers
and 1 die 4 dice? 🙂. im done

      Thanks for the clarifcation.
I went with the way the Irish Defence Forces organises platoons in my head. We call squads sections, and we'd have three sections to a platoon with two corporals as section leaders of each section, Lt in charge with Sgt as 2ic. we'd have 9 in the section with two smaller maneuver teams and an FSG group. In my experience anytime we attracted medic's they just hung out with the LT in the centre of the patrol harbour :P
It never occurred to me ( and it fecking should have ) that this would be based on the US way of organising things.
As for die and dice... trust me, its been the bane of my life trying to get that right, and i never do!
