Great topic, this needed to be put out there. Loft & spin is basically how I get all my in betweens. Can also combine that with the very late overswing as that not only gets you a consistent 95-96% swing but also re-expands the tempo perfect zone once the power falls below 100% again. Granted for that you need to nail your downswing speed without the help of the full smooth swing timing. The partials are not as hard as I thought they were when I first started. I now use the clubhead relative to my ani to judge when to downswing since I prefer no meter and my swing path and tempo have gotten better. But if I can get it with a 96-100% true shot adjusted, I much prefer those.
I achieve my partial shots by watching the position of the avatar’s hands. This is made easier if you kit your golfer out with a horizontally striped shirt and use the stripes as a sort of gauge to judge the position of the golfers hands in the backswing.
clarification for the video: R stick is for BACKspin, not spin. There is no topspin in golf, which is important in ball flight. The up direction makes a steeper swing which causes more spin (unless you have a loft+AoA > 45deg, a wedge- spin loft principle). The down R stick makes a flatter swing plane, for the driver mostly. Also, if you want to flight down an iron, you pull DOWN ON THE R STICK to keep the wind from driving the ball upward too high.
You are correct. There is no top spin in golf. But I wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to understand how the ball will roll out more. Easiest way to state that is top spin on the ball is what I thought. But you are correct less spin on the ball will make the ball roll out further after contact (there is no top spin). However, after that I think you have it backwards unless I am not understanding. The right stick up does not cause more spin it causes less spin in this game. The stick all the way down on the right stick causes the most amount of backspin. Also when you say flighting down an iron I am guessing you mean the punch shots I was performing. That is also not the case for the punch shot. Pulling down on the right stick lifts the ball up and gets you a greater carry. If you need to keep the iron down under obstacles or the wind you need to go up on both loft and attack angle (left and right stick). These all can be tested on the driving range and also stated in HB's official tutorial video on loft and spin in game.
@@MoreRespawn it depends on the club. A 46deg pw can only have 45 deg of spin loft, so when you add the right stick it does virtually nothing . Ex: If your 9Iron is presenting 42 deg of loft at impact, and you lower the R stick, it will give you up to 3 more deg of spin loft (45 max). Beyond that 3 deg, lowering R stick theoretically will make no difference. This explains why it does little on 9Iron or wedge.
i need your help.i dont know what id in settings but my strike meter is gone on the right lower side, the meter where i can shape a shot is gone and the meter to the right of it to spin the ball is, can you tell me what i removed and how to get it back in settings, very frustrating ,thanks in advance
I really miss the old Tiger Woods ball spin. You can't spin the ball sideways to get a approach on the green. Also I can't stand all the interruptions during the PGA Tour game play. There's no real pro shop to buy cool stuff like Tiger's games. I really am not crazy about this game.
I'm playing with TruShot off on Xbox system. Is there a way to show the elevations (uphill or downhill) for all shots including putting without having the blue arc???
I turned down difficulty so I could show the shot shaping without having my swing/tempo affect the outcome. You are correct, the width of the plane is dictated by the difficulty and clubs you are using.
The best tutorial with 2K's swing, instant subscription!
True Shot is counter intuitive. You would think moving the slider to the ‘+’ would give you more loft not less! The same goes for the spin stick.
I guess it's very realistic though. If you hit the ball lower it goes higher and vice versa.
Bro your PGA videos are the best on TH-cam. I play them in the background while I'm at the range and they've helped a ton. Thanks.
Glad you like em! There is a very HUGE catalog of PGA videos here for you to sift through.

Thanks for taking the time to create this video! It was so helpful!!!!
Cheers for this mate! Great help 👍🏻
Excellent video! Logically and understandably presented. You have a new subscriber! Thanks.
Thank you . You explained everything that I needed to know.
This was honestly so helpful bruh
1st video I came across that provided the details I needed. Thank you sir.
Awsome video explained easy and simple thanks for the help 👌👌
Thank you for these. Really helps me with my GAME.
That is what I like to hear! Thanks for watching.
What setting or difficulty give you that much error correction? That swing plane is huge! I can land a plane there.
Great tutorial, thank you for this

HB defines it as Angle of Attack = R stick. A driver will curve less due to wind and roll out more if you lower (flatten) this AoA.
Question here: it seems that in my 2K21 the two dials on right are coupled, moving synchronically both, not independently. What do I do wrong?

Well done sir best explantation I've seen yet, well explained have a sub as well 👍
Appreciate you! Thanks for the support.
I agree its donkey dung u can't dance the ball into the hole all 2k do is take decent games and fuck them up

U can turn off the replays in the cameras and presentation menu
It also has clubhouse pass for interesting gear.
@@B_L_1_N_K_K yeah but nothing like Tiger's
I'm using keybard and mouse. I keep getting Reset Shot error shown and I don't know how to.
Good video but how did you get you white bar so wide?
Turned down swing difficulty
When putting draw or fade on a shot. Do you put the target circle where you want ball to land? I'm not sure where to put the circle.
Distance control keeps me constantly guessing on approach. Despite max loft and max backspin the ball just rolls way farther than I expect
So try different clubs...

Just picked this game up over the weekend. All your videos have a been a big help man! Thx, keep up the good work!
How did you move the shot percentage meter near the end of your video?
How come your swing plane is an inch wide? Is that based on what difficulty you're on?
I turned down difficulty so I could show the shot shaping without having my swing/tempo affect the outcome. You are correct, the width of the plane is dictated by the difficulty and clubs you are using.
Does the wind not show while you’re playing career mode? I have been looking for the wind meter thing for a while
@Eric Sinister I just realized this man lol!!
Thanks good information *****
But still what's the point of draw and fade besides avoiding trees?
Coming into landing zones for more difficult greens, cutting out wind, shot shaping into heavily sloped fairways.
I can’t figure this damn game out. I spent years being a thumb and index finger swinger. Now it just doesn’t work.
what driver are you using in this video?
Pretty sure it is the Bridgestone driver.
Thanks!
Great video. First time playing true shit mechanic and this explains it a lot better than the tutorial. 👍
I'm guessing that's a spelling error but man that got me a good laugh.
SPIDA!!!
Oh god, this is my safe space away from Spida. Why? Why?
Good info
True shot? Are you talking about hunter call of the wild? Lol, Not a term what so ever in 2k21. It is simply legendary/tour settings.
Adjusting attack angle and spin is called True Shot. That's the name, the game says that's its name. That's just fact. 🤣
Crap game
I disagree. I think it's pretty damn good.
