I think your 60's Rookie cards is a great idea. I think it'll inspire you after you finish to take on the 50s if you want to head in that direction. Gotta also stick with those older Cardinals you're looking to get. Thanks for sharing!

Love the new plan Bill, I like you struggle with staying focused. I started the year with a list of 110 cards to help me focus, and although I have made progress I am finding it too broad. Your 1960s HOF focus makes a ton of sense and I will enjoy watching your progress. IAt one point I wanted to do player runs but now except a few players like Henry Aaron and Koufax, I think I want my 4-5 favorite cards of theirs, not sure I need their entire career

Also, how do I prioritize what players to do? After Gibson, Brock, Yastrzemski, and some of my favorites, it gets hard to prioritize, so for my scatter brain, it makes more sense to go by year. Billy, sounds like an awesome post-National plan! Yeah, at some point I totally understand how the high prices of certain cards make them a much less feasible option! There are plenty of totally awesome rookie cards that are not Mickey Mantle or Willie Mays, as much as I love those two guys! Congrats on making it to your Summer break, my collecting brother! P.S. Hi Billy! Wow you get out of school early where you are, we still have another month left! Sounds like you have a good plan and focus with the HOF RCs from the 60s. I have been working on that too, they are fun to collect! You are missing 3 though, there are 24 HOF RCs from the 60s.
Hey Jim, thanks, my friend. Yeah, I screwed that up in the video. I wasn't counting the 3 I already have. We do get out of school pretty early, but we start up in August now. When I was a kid, we started after Labor Day and got out of school later. I think that's why.

Thanks for the kind words! Focus is my biggest problem, and I like all sports with a limited budget it definitely makes it difficult sometimes for sure. That's why I have to plan. It somewhat keeps me from being distracted.

I currently have many runs that I have started, but basically most of them have stalled, as my main focus now is Jackie Robinson. It's good to hear that you plan is like a marathon, not a sprint. @@billyballgamesportscards I’ve never really been a rookie card collector. If it’s a card I like, I’ll buy it but just cause it’s a rookie doesn’t move the needle for me. Also recently decided to do a 1 card for every player on my list (and it’s a long list)..just felt having multiple cards for a player was redundant. So I’m just getting a card I really like of them (prefer portrait photos) and that’ll be good. I’m gonna make a video soon about it, hope you check it out and take care!

Great goals to shoot for, be patient, you'll get there. As you know, I'm specific in my collecting; you too can be specific as well as general; just not too many squirrel moments. Hang in there, you'll get there. Great '60s cards!
Billy, you my friend are an awful lot like me and probably many other collectors as well. You are always in thought of the next goal. We have these goals in mind. Some materialize and some do not. Your established goals seem achievable if you pace yourself which it sounds as though that is what you aim to do. The thing that matters, is that you enjoy the process. At 64, I'm trying to slow down my own goals but that is hard to do. I look forward to see you grow your collection.

@@billyballgamesportscards they just announced who is getting in. The actual induction will be in September. Matt Morris received the fan vote, Whitey Kurowski and Dave Duncan were selected by the committee’s. I already have Morris’ first topps card, so I had to get cards for the others. Found a 1947 tip top bread for Kurowski, and luckily they made coaches cards in 2009 topps heritage so that’ll be my Duncan card.
Must have been watching your latest while you were watching mine haha... We have pretty much the same goals, man. I like all sports though so I'll have my work cut out until I'm 119 years old. Love the 60's to 80's strategy, for sure! Good way to space it out and get things at the right times financially. Hoping your big dogs come home with you from the National!
I like all sports too, but I think I'm going to mostly focus on rookie cards there. Mainly football and hockey. For sure, I'll be collecting until I'm 148 years old.
Hi Billy, fun video. I am sort of doing the same, with hank aaron, nolan ryan, seaver, and cal ripken playing days run. I am doing this on more of a budget, so im happy with lower grades if there arent significant creases/really bad centering. my main problem is being selective about what i can afford. looking forward to your progress towards your goals in future vids.
Hey James, thanks for watching and commenting. I'm not a fan of bad centering or creases either, but sometimes, depending on the card, I have to buy what I can afford. So, for me, it's always a balancing act of budget versus condition.
thanks, i try to stay at less than $75/card, and yes if the card presents well but there’s a small crease or it’s somewhat off-center, I certainly may still consider it.
I am on a similar path for HOF rookies, but I hadn’t thought about concentrating on them by decade. I may have to try that, because I get sidetracked easily. Also, I’ll be your competition at the National for a Musial RC.
