- COME ON GUYS! Please SUBSCRIBE! I'm truly trying to grow this channel and shed a light on something that's often forgotten!
This on shows an upstairs dryer exiting the roof. Once again, the roofers installed a screen to keep animals out.... Unfortunately, it kept the lint in and blocked all airflow causing the dryer to overheat!
Please check out my website for my Quick Connect Periscope! It's the PERFECT product that replaces the flex hose connection and GETS THE MACHINE CLOSER TO THE WALL! Safer than ANY flex hose behind your dryer! No more fooling with connecting the dryer to the duct! No more lint leakage forcing you to dust constantly!

PLEASE LIKE, SHARE & SUBSCRIBE FOLKS!!! I'm trying to grow the channel however I'd much rather spread the word on the dangers of your dryer vent AND SAVE A LIFE!!! You subscribing helps get this message to more and more people!
Cleaning your dryer vent should be on your "to do" list regardless of if you own or rent your home! ESPECIALLY if your vent is run in a tight crawl space.

The flex hose! OMG!!!😮Another great video!!! You rock!❤❤
LOL!!! Thx Connie!!!!!
Not gonna lie, I get a bit nervous when you're on the roof.. But I think it's just more my fear of heights. LOL
Haha! I know! I’m not a fan of heights either!!! Duty calls though!!!
Outstanding work ethic. RARE. Wish you lived near me.
There's still some integrity out there these days.... You just may have to search! Thank you for your kind words and for watching!!!
I'm wishing the same!
No idea why TH-cam took me here ... but I liked it :)
And I’m happy you’re here!!!
Be careful on those high angled roofs Steve. We don't want anything to happen to you. Keep up these awesome videos. I just cleaned out my dryer vent to see what came out and not much did. It's only been about a year and the flow is great. Thanks for doing what you do.
oh my word ! What on earth made the owners wait so long to send for you ? Checking mine asap but we do clear it monthly. Great work I think you are a life saver.
Agreed!
I actually laughed out loud when I saw the miles of vent hose and again when you cut all but like 2 feet off!! Such a good video!!!! I learned a lot. Sorry there are nasty people who aren't happy unless they try to make others unhappy. They're messing with your living...I hope they stop!!! I just ordered a kit to clean my own vents. My set up looks simple, fingers crossed. I'm a 76 year old woman who can't budge the stackable washer dryer I have. The flow from my dryer to the outside vent is super strong so hopefully there won't be a lot in there!!! Thanks again for this video!!!
Well I think it's awesome that you're willing to do a little work yourself and save your hard-earned money!!! Far too many people are miserable and, in my opinion, it's sad... Keep up the good work and I'll be here to help if you have any questions when your cleaning kit arrives!!!!
Great video!
Thanks man!
That is a ridiculous place to place a vent 🤔🤔
Hope you saw the power plug was not in properly.
LOL! Sure did! Great eye!
NICE!
TY!
O would think that the condensation/moisture issues would be exaorbated by the fact that the vent run is up to the roof. With a vertical run that long wouldn't you want to add a booster fan? What about some kind of diverter for the moisture that runs back to drain out? Lastly, isn't the venting going to rust in the wall at some point?
Booster fans are terrible for a dryer vent! If you need one, your vent is too long! The lint will eventually get trapped in the fan blades of the fan and be even worse! Also, when the vent is free of any obstructions, the humid air is capable of going through the vent and out of the structure. The real issue on this one was the screen in the roof damper... That's what was trapping the moisture, not the length of the vent. Thx for watching and I'm happy to answer any questions you have!
@@advsLLC I appreciate the answers. I wasn't sure if either of those ideas would be helpful at all. I am fortunate that my dryer is located on an exterior wall and I only need a vent that is only 10 inches, Plus a short piece of flex on the back of the dryer. Everything is all at the same level pretty much. I still clean it out frequently as well as vacuuming the dryer inside, but it's been working well.
@@TheJirishabsolutely my friend! Thank you!
I never knew ppl vented dryers onto the roof
The dryer vent should be on the side of the house I don’t know why would the builder put it on the roof
Roof dryer vents are extremely popular in the Southeast... It's mainly because around here, we put the laundry area in the center of many homes and routing through the roof is much shorter, in most cases, than a long horizontal run to the side. Thanks for watching!
Screens over a dryer vent termination are against building code. Ignore the bogus haters!
I would like to get better though... HOWEVER, I agree with you! If you can't tell me what I'm doing wrong, must be something you're doing.... Thanks HSB!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just had my house re roofed and they did not update my dryer vent to code; the dryer vent was terminating into a 'attic vent' termination it didn't even have a connection part for ducting to connect to it the original installer just used foil tape lol. its so annoying why are these roofers skipping corners.....
It happens so often most people would be alarmed if they knew! It's a shame due to the cost of roof replacements these days and a few simple QC checks would go a long way!!! Thank you for your comment!
Pitch hopper on that roof would be very helpful!
Pitch hopper? What's that?
Looks safe!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! At least no ice on the roof!
@@advsLLC do you charge extra for scary roofs???
ABSOLUTELY! No different than changing the oil on a Ferrari! But seriously, I do mainly because it takes more time to complete the job.
BOOM!
I keep saying it but this seems such a crazy way of doing things.
That's because sometimes builders create more problems than they solve... Cat and mouse game at its finest! Thx for watching!
Why all the flex?
that extra tubing looked like intestines….
HAHAHAHA!!!
