Perhaps it's different in your country but in Canada UP is ON and DOWN is OFF. The other way and the writing on the switches would have been upside down. Valid question, and that’s exactly what I did on subsequent conversions. Unfortunately, at the time I came across this, supply chain issues due to the pandemic didn’t make that possible.
