Awesome update!!! It just amazes me on how they make heavy equipment to make a job easier & safer. Like that dump truck with the tracks. Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
@Jordan Mowbray I just had an engineering webinar friday about this set of dams. Was nice already being familiar with the whole situation. Thanks for your updates keeping us informed.
My Mom and Dad had A Trailer on one of The Cuts at Secord and we kids would spend The Whole Summer at The Trailer and fished everyday !!! I couldn`t tell you how many Crappies We caught , thousands I would say !!! I sure miss Sanford Lake and Wixom Lake !! Our Whole Family spent Many wonderful days at both places , swimming and fishing !!! I live in Tennessee now , and have since August of 1990 when I moved My Family here to work for The Saturn Corporation , building Saturn Cars !!!! We come home occasionally to visit Family who still live in Midland !!!! Thanks for Doing What You Do !!!! At 77 years of age , I`ll probably never see The Lakes restored to their Original Sizes and The Fish returning !! Its sad what happened , but The Work they are doing will help to never let it happen again !!!! Thanks Again Jordan !!!!!!
Always great to see your updates Jordan. I check your live cam frequently. They are always busy down there and looks like they're making great progress.
Jordan, I had know idea this work was going on. It's been a while since I've checked in with you. All is looking fantastic and thanks for all your hard work. Bless you~
Thank you. Do you have any idea why the new spillway narrows so much as it reaches the downstream river at the dam? That is quite a restriction to deal with if it is ever required. It would overflow all over instead of keeping an equal flow down to the river.
{not an engineer} I imagine it's to limit the peak flow rate through the erosion resistant landing. Above a certain amount, spilling over the side might be the lesser of the consequences.
Will they be doing any fortification of the bridge peers under the highway now that the emergency overflow outlet discharge is right there? they see to be a bit under protected considering the potential flows that may come through there.
@Jordan Mowbray can you share the financials of these dam restorations? Where is the money coming from? What are the assessments being put on the property owners?
How did you ever manage to get this much access to these sites ? I'd have expected the attitudes to be more along the lines of calling homeland security if they saw a camera within half a mile of the work sites.
You know really the whole staff involved in this project have been so generous with information and listening to residents that I am not surprised that Jordon was allowed special access. We are rewarded in turn with priceless communication and a lasting history of the project because of mgmt's foresight in bringing Jordon aboard. And don't forget the mgmt-level people who represent the 2 counties also have vast experience with people, figuring out who would fit best where, and also managed big projects.
Jordan did such an amazing job of documenting the dam collapse and aftermath that he earned a lot of goodwill with community leaders. Jordan has treated all involved with great respect, and the community has appreciated his record of the entire process. He earned his access.
Guess I don't understand why they were in a hurry to cut off flow at Sanford and temp. fix dam with water in their way at dam only to open up the flow where it broke again. Glad your keeping track of their work better. Edenville seems different than Sanford.
😢Looks so different, thanks for sharing

Do you have an update on the filling of the lakes?

Quite a rarity!

Why are they draining Sanford dam?

When did they decide to put that in ❓
Went with Cast-in-place instead of RCC at the auxiliary s/w?
Anyone know what the calculated flow rate is for the emerg spillway? Or the probable max flood (pmf)?
Hallelujah God bless you all 💪🙏💕🐢🐝
Cameras are cool but they don't talk so your needed too do more updates or find someone who can if you can't.
Just to charge every resident 30 K
😟☹️😥🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻
