You are always SO creative!!! I love to flip through magazines while I’m watching TV. What a nice way to relax and play at the same time!!! I love your page!!!
😊👍👋 I wish I had your artistic eye. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I remember when we saw a lot less of you in the summer because you got to hang out with your grandchildren. I bet they are long grown up on us.
Aww, thanks so much, Londa. Yes, the grandchildren truly have grown up fast! Some are adults now and the baby of the bunch is 11! The most wonderful part is that they ALL still enjoy hanging out together here. I’m really so blessed and grateful! 😊
Thank you for helping me see things with new eyes. I also wanted to say I received my Floral kit today, which was perfect because I had some minor surgery yesterday and I can't wait to sit and play along with you on that notebook. Thanks so much for all you do and share.
Aww, it’s my pleasure to share ideas with you, Janet, and I’m super glad you’ve found them helpful. 😊 I’m sorry to hear about your surgery, but glad you’ve received your journal kit to play with during your recovery. (Thank you so much for your order!) Happy creating, and all the best in your healing! ❤️🩹
You can add scrap card stock to the backs of your magazine images and cut them out with dies too. I’ve been doing this with old stamping catalogues for images and sayings. The card stock on the back before you cut them out whether with scissors or dies makes your images sturdier when you want to place them on cards, etc.
I don’t get very many catalogs/magazines in the mail, but I tell you what I will look at them with a whole new way. I saw the heart in that cluster of flowers too. Such a cool and fun way to make embellishments and recycle at the same time. Your little journal page looks super cute.
Omg, that page turned out just perfect. I love everything about it. So simple, cost nothing to make, yet one of the cutest darn things I've seen in a while. Gorgeous. Thanks for the great ideas😊
Hi Cat, all of the doodles are adorable:) Just getting back from traveling, and it's so fun to see this video and get inspired for more journal play. Love your purple flower spread with the paper ribbon! Sweet idea with so many possibilities, thanks for sharing:)
Thanks so much, Jill. I’m glad you had safe travels and are now back home, ready to create. Yes, I just love all the possibilities in the endless colors and patterns found in magazines and catalogs! It’s so much fun! 😁 Have a great week!
Cat how simply beautiful ( oh I remember your live ) how wonderful to find a heart whilst you were creating along for us. Such a pretty page and goes so nicely with your border 🩵☕️
Neat idea. I’m going to have to go back 2016, I think you said, to see all your creative ideas back then. You just keep on inspiring us to make pretty things. By the way, how many journals do you have currently that you are working on? I always feel guilty because I don’t finish them.
Thanks! Yes, go to my channel and under my playlists you’ll see Mixed Media Morsels. This is a series that I’ve been doing since 2016. We have a different theme each year and it’s been so much fun and it’s still going on now! I have several journals in the works right now- not sure how many, probably seven or eight. I don’t have any guilt feelings about them not being finished at all. I look at them as opportunities. Depending on what mood I’m in, I can just take a journal off the shelf and play in it and that’s very rewarding for me. 😊
Amazing how you turned the trash into beautiful ephemera. Todays Quote:“Kindness is our very own pixie fairy dust, it gives people the ability to soar and not just fly." Happy National Watercolor Month. It was fun seeing you at Janet's live. Huge hugs. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
It usually only takes a few minutes to dry - if you’re not sure, you can lay a piece of scrap paper on top and press down - if it’s still wet, it will transfer to the scrap paper. I’m usually too impatient to wait, so I typically dry it with my heat tool. 😊
I agree, Maria. It’s one of those things that is perfect for when you don’t feel like creating a big project. Just doodling, cutting, gluing, and fun! 😊
Thanks, Jerlean. I try to use as much as possible. I’m always thrilled when I can make something out of scraps that normally would be thrown in the trash. It’s very rewarding! 😊
This is such a wonderful idea! I absolutely love what you have created. Thank you! ❤
Thanks so much, Janet! 😊

My pleasure! Thank you for watching! 😊
Cute!
So you let the Sharpie dry, but I find on the shiny magazine pages that they still smudge. How long do you wait for drying?
