another great video Ed... if you ever need an old student to give ratings on your courses I am always willing to explain my satisfaction in the courses.... I took a break from options.....and lately I been combining ffs, mms, and nts with a vwap indicator and volume profile in forex markets... once i see confirmations from ffs, mms, and nts - i then use vwap and volume profile as an extra confirmation before i squeeze the trigger... you are the originator to my methods... always a pleasure pal.... Not really. This new course is really huge. I have about 40 lessons ready, but I'm nowhere near the end of it. It will be great though. I'm confident it will be the best technical analysis course around.
Thanks much for this phenomenally enlightening course! Just one point to add, with regards to Volume & Open Interest--they apply to both Options & Futures 🤓
I would love to thank the creator for all of this juicy information. From planning out the words to say to the production of his video. Very well thought out and a huge thumbs up from me! I hope and wish to continue in my trading journey as long as my losg-term investment journey. If i could kiss him I would.
5:45 Although this table appears to be common sense and very logical at first, it's not the case. 6:13 offers evidence. We can see that, in spite of the volume dropping, the price plummeted even faster, as per Wyckoff. There was just not any buyers, and fewer contracts were needed to produce higher ranges downward. The down movement didn't stop because of the decrease in the volume per se. It stopped only when the price reached a new, lower price, with enough buyer interest, an updated offer/demand equilibrium point.
the best Volume explanation video in the cyber-world, what is your opinion on the "Volume Zone Oscilator" i have been looking for information on this but its hard to find online.
I can see more detailed videos on how to trade, but will a beginner understand everything. I really impressed on your detailed videos which i cant see anywhere in youtube. i know a few things about trading which i learned thru a course provided by some x institution. But i am not sure where to enter and exit and to be clear i am not confident enough to enter the market. Will your FFS course make a beginner better? Will your 74 HD videos teach a beginner the ryt way of trading?
Thank you for the great content, particularly about relation between Open Interest and Volume. Do you know if any data provider provides Real Time Open Interest value for Futures? Most of them provide Open Interest value only after the end of the day. Thanks.
Real volume - the actual number of transactions that took place at a given time. The value can be determined because it takes place on one exchange. Tick volume - the amount is impossible to precisely determine because it takes place on a dispersed market and not on a single, regulated exchange. In order to estimate the volume, we assume that each transaction corresponds to a difference of one price tick. This gives an approximate amount of volume.
Great video! I am a futures trader. A few futures traders use the cumulative volume delta for scalping, and it's a very interesting indicator, check it out. One suggestion, your slides are dark but when you put up a chart with a bright background is like a stick hitting the eyes ha ha. I hope you consider using dark background on tradingview to keep with the tone of your presentation slides. Thanks.
@@fractalflowpro They are both volume indicators, but that's where their similarities end, in my opinion. CVD uses only the delta values, the aggressive market orders. This is extremely useful as it allows you to spot potential large reversals in the market early. OBV is lesser as it assigns entire volume of a candle to be either buying or selling depending on the candle color. If a candle is green, all volume is labeled as buys. CVD adds up individual trades regardless of the candle color.
Great video! I have an off-topic question for you though: is using only the augmented dickey-fuller unit root test sufficient for testing stationarity of a time series (for the engle granger 2 step method)? I have an idea to create a program that generates a cointegrated cryptocurrency portfolio, and I am wondering how many different stationarity tests would be sufficient for testing stationarity. I have a background in math but im not too well versed in statistics/econometrics so i need to do a lot of research :p also, i understand that cointegrated relationships (once verified) are said to be long run relationships, but can this change over time? Would it be wise to conduct cointegration tests on a periodic basis to ensure a cointegrated portfolio stays cointegrated?
Also, in the formulas in the video you use the letter 'x' to symbolize the operation of multiplication. As someone who is pedantic, i think you should use a • or the actual × to represent multiplication 😋. But aside from that, it's really great to see that you actually explain the formulas for the indicators. People see behaviour on an indicator as buy and sell signals, but really the only true interpretation of an indicator is mathematical. Unfortunately this can lead to people thinking that price will react to the indicator, which is just so backwards because indicators react to price, not the other way around.
The Dickey-Fuller and the Augmented Dickey-Fuller tests are usually enough. The problem in cointegration is dealing with noise in beta rotation. There are all sorts of different filters to deal with that like Levy fractal and Kalman filters. Beyond that, a series might be cointegrated in the short term but not in the long term or vice versa of course.

what do you mean by price action falling and rising?
Great work! You just impressed me as always. But generally speaking, where can I get the information about the number of old and new sellers/buyers?
You need to use an indicator like the Herrick Payoff Index in the daily futures market. The data is extracted automatically.

Yes, the cumulative volume delta is interesting, but it's basically the same as the OBV. Good tip on the chart background color. Sorry about that haha

Yes, they are different in theory, but if you plot them you'll see there is very little difference.
Hi Ed, So in terms of the MFI, if i were to use it would the settings also need to be the same as my RSI, so 4 or leave it as the standard 14?
Also, then obviously with other confluences could we say that if both indicators are diverging then this could mean a strong sell or buy?

both buyers and sellers make up the volume, why is that one side makes up the volume?
