This is. Great idea for a video! The only time I took public transportation in Lisboa I was with one of my Portuguese friends and she helped me... I was overwhelmed because of the language and the sense of urgency (didn’t want to miss the train). Obrigada ~
It's very helpful to see little slices of daily life. It's going to be a couple of years until we can relocate but I'm hoping by planning and paying attention now it will make it easier when the time comes. Greatly appreciate your videos, and would love to see more 'little slices of every day things' too! Thanks!

The metro map and pay kiosk resembles the ones on DC. I took the metro often when I worked in DC. It's good to know that the transit system in Portugal is the same.

I am not a fan of ticket machines but it's the way of the world so thanks for the showing it and the link to thelisbonlife. Taking the train/subway is not on most US citizens' radar and no one wants to hear my opinion of mass transit buses in the D.C. area during a holiday reduced scheduling period. In large city subways and trains and buses are often the fastest and cheapest way to get around as long as you can figure out their scheduling, routes, time tables, method of payment, their reliability factors, well lighted safe to do it at all feel, and don't have to be somewhere at certain time. Where I live in Delaware there are rural bus services but figuring out the connections, figuring out the timing (no they don't always arrive when they say they will), dressing for the weather due to the lack of bus stop shelters makes them almost useless. I did a route plan once for a trip to a train station just because I wanted to go on a train ride as an adventure, five hours by bus and that assumed I didn't miss any connections and almost all of the time was to be spent waiting to catch the next bus. Now I know why Uber is popular but at the time I did that planning there weren't services such as Uber and even now not so much in my area. I would have had to rent a car or get a friend to drop me. It got so complicated I just gave up and drove my car and then didn't enjoy the trip cause I hate driving while trying to read a map....I save lives when I stay home.....LOL
