    Did they fix the pattern chain so that efx and release times don’t truncate when switching patterns? Thanks

    So I've got a problem. I select which Pattern I want to chain and exit, save. But It doesn't show me that its gonna go to the selected Pattern and it doesn't go to the selected Pattern. It just loops the Pattern like without the Pattern chain on. Any solutions? Maybe I didn't watch carefully?

    • @jimbojones3013
      @jimbojones3013 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just FYI. You FIRST need to go to global parameters, switch chain mode on in that section. Exit to your pattern. Then these instructions here work perfectly.

    How well do the patterns chain while real-time recording? For instance, I, while recording, I play a chord on the last beat of the first pattern and hold it into the next pattern, on playback will the chord play through to the next pattern or will it get cut off when the pattern switches?

    • @RonCavagnaro

      Actually I'm not sure because I don't have this gear anymore but maybe someone who has one can read this and reply

    • @jonnie2bad
      @jonnie2bad 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have one, this thing is trash and chain mode is useless. Any notes with sustain will be cut off when the pattern changes. Parts are not mutable in chain mode and there are gaps between patterns. Also any FX running will get cut off so dont use reverb or any kind of delay in chain mode LMFAO! Forget about any kind of live performance or remixing in chain mode anything you try to change on the fly will revert back to the original setting on every pattern change. You could save the pattern after making a change, but when you are running 4 other machines live you wont have enough hands or time to do that. Korg gear will handcuff you at every turn. Save some more money and get a digitakt or an MPC. I regret buying this toy.

    • @difflocktwo
      @difflocktwo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonnie2bad Dang. I only got one cause it was under $200 and many TH-cam demos of the machine sound really good. Other groovebox demos didn't sound so good. I was like woah that's pretty good for such a hated on machine.
      MPC does battery power right? Digitakt not really. Sure you could attach a battery bank to any box though.
      The Electribe 2, it's simplicity and battery operation make it a fun and you really can get crazy sounds out of it.
      Korg absolutely dropped the ball on documentation and support on this thing though, potential was huge.

    • @calleenmusicchannel
      @calleenmusicchannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't record while patterns are chaining. If you press record while the patterns are chaining, the 'machine' will loop on the pattern it is currently on, then start chaining again after going back to play mode. Korg mandates the electribe 2 user to think only in one to four bars at a time then chain the patterns. Also everything MUST be quantized to there limited and rigid quantisation. It's dumb.

    hi ron, how do I chain for example, patt 1 to patt 2 to patt 3 and so on thanks

    • @RonCavagnaro
      @RonCavagnaro  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The video should explain it. I don't own this gear anymore so I don't want to misinform but watch video and see how it says chain to next pattern. Save. Then go to the next pattern, choose chain to the next, save, and so on. should be cut and dry

  • @GrootsieTheDog
    @GrootsieTheDog 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do the notes automatically quantize to the steps or can you create more of a groove feel by real-time recording without quantize and having the notes have a more realistic feel?

    • @RonCavagnaro
      @RonCavagnaro  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use about 30 groove (you choose the % of groove and the groove) to humanise your pattern for each part (kick, snare, etc) . There is also a "swing" setting but it affects all the parts.

    I need to know if it is possible to add more effects on IFX On, or if is possible to record an effect to master in a single sound (i know how to do this), and then change the effect and continue acting the previous to add more effects at the same sound.
    Kind regards Ron!

    Hey man loving these tutorials. I have a question. If I record a pattern with the keyboard and then after I have recorded it go back to the sequencer, is there anyway I can alter the notes? So say The pattern is awesome as I played it but I want to change just one note from a C to an E (for example), is this possible? Or do I have to re record the whole thing or delete the note I want to edit and record it on the fly?

      @beefowl1933 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you probably worked it out by now but in case anyone else is reading, one possible reason may be because you are using a sample and not a synth note. you have to edit the sample loop start and end times in the sample edit settings to make it loop continuously whilst holding down a pad. Of course it will depend on your sample if this sounds good or not.

    If only you could record while patterns were chaining. And have the ability to turn off quantize

    • @Jonathan_Doe_

      The MPC One/Live/Live 2/X can do this, you can set it so you record over your sequence, and if you run over it’ll automatically extend the sequence length.
